Arriving at the outdoor field, many patrol officers were engaged in training. As soon as they heard that Judy Li was going to spar with someone, they quickly made their way and even broadcasted the announcement for everyone still at the station to come watch the spectacle. Other officers, upon hearing that Judy Li was going to engage in combat, dropped what they were doing and rushed to the field. It had been a while since they had seen Judy Li in action, and they were curious to see who her opponent was this time. Judy Li's charisma was undeniable: beautiful, fit, and most importantly, highly skilled in combat. This made her male colleagues feel a sense of shame as she was always at the forefront of dangerous situations. They couldn't help but admire her. Surrounding William Lin and Judy Li in the middle of the field, officers whispered to each other. "Who's this kid? I've never seen him before." "Do you think he's one of those rich guys who come here for thrills? Hasn't this happened before?" "I heard he's the one who got into trouble today, but it's not a big deal. Sister Li should know what she's doing. Let's just enjoy the show." "Alright, I'll bet a pack of spicy snacks that this kid will go down within three moves. Anyone want to raise the stakes?" Many officers joined the betting pool, all expecting William Lin to go down within three moves. Standing in the center of the circle, Judy Li looked at William Lin and said, "Are you ready? If you are, let's begin." "I'm ready whenever you are. I just hope you'll keep your promise and start the investigation after our spar. I want to leave as soon as possible," William Lin replied. Before he could finish his sentence, Judy Li lunged at him without wasting any time. Seeing Judy Li's attack, William Lin quickly assumed a defensive stance, not daring to underestimate her. He had already sensed Judy Li's skill when they were in the interrogation room. Judy Li took two swift steps and closed the distance between them. She bent forward and performed a leg sweep, aiming for William Lin's lower body. William Lin didn't use any ancient martial arts techniques; instead, he channeled his spiritual energy into his legs. He wanted to test the strength of his spiritual energy against Judy Li's techniques. The leg that had previously caused the metal bench to tremble received no advantage this time. Instead, William Lin felt a tremendous counterforce. Judy Li swiftly turned around, placed one hand on the ground, and launched a straight-legged kick at William Lin's waist. William Lin, with a simple hand movement, effortlessly blocked Judy Li's leg and grabbed it. With a quick twist, he flung Judy Li away, sending her flying. Judy Li relied on rolling to barely steady her stance. The onlookers, including the patrolling officers, were stunned by what they witnessed. They had never seen anyone embarrass Judy Li like this before. "Damn! Is Judy's undefeated legend about to crumble?" one patrol officer exclaimed. "You're talking nonsense! The captain will never lose; just watch!" someone immediately retorted. Judy Li brushed off the dust from her hands, realizing she had been careless earlier, trying to muscle her way through. Unexpectedly, William Lin proved to have some backbone. After stretching her muscles, Judy Li declared, "I'm getting serious now!" With those words, she launched another attack on William Lin, this time employing her combat grappling skills. Her combat grappling wasn't your run-of-the-mill technique; she had learned it in the military and special forces. Her instructors had praised her exceptional talent. Her fierce moves, accompanied by a gust of wind, closed in on William Lin. He had tested his spiritual power and switched to ancient martial arts techniques. The grassy playground became a whirlwind of dust as William Lin effortlessly countered each of Judy Li's moves. It was a dizzying display of offense and defense, leaving the onlookers struggling to keep up. After a while, Judy Li was panting heavily, her chest heaving with exhaustion. She had depleted her stamina, and her efforts were beginning to wane. Judy Li couldn't believe that, despite her best techniques, she couldn't get any closer to William Lin. In contrast, he remained as composed as ever. Seeing Judy Li's condition, William Lin said, "Can we end this now? Can you let me go?" "No!" Judy Li refused outright. She had come to terms with the gap between them, but her stubborn desire to win still held strong. She had never bowed down to anyone in her life, and she wasn't about to start now. She wouldn't concede unless she knocked him down. Just then, Caleb Li arrived at the scene. It had taken him a considerable effort to track down William Lin. "Why don't you keep your word?" William Lin said with a hint of frustration, looking at Judy Li. "Who's not keeping their word? A sparring match should have a winner, right? I haven't lost yet," Judy Li retorted. "You're utterly unreasonable! There should be a limit to a sparring match. Do you want me to knock you down?" "Exactly! Knock me down first," Judy Li's words left William Lin speechless. A thousand thoughts raced through William Lin's mind. Knock her down? That was a dangerous proposition. If he actually managed to do it, he might never leave this place today. The patrolling officers at the scene watched the sudden change in the situation, sensing that something was amiss, but they couldn't quite put their finger on it. It was as if they were witnessing a quarrel between a couple. Judy Li took a deep breath and was about to attack again when she heard a distant reprimand. "Stop!" Everyone turned to see the chief of the bureau approaching at a leisurely pace, accompanied by a middle-aged man. "Enough of this nonsense!" the chief scolded Judy Li and then turned to the patrolling officers. "What are you all doing? Can't you stop her?" "Now each of you needs to write a ten-thousand-word self-critique, do you hear me?" The chief's anger was palpable. "Chief, it's my fault. It has nothing to do with them. If someone needs to be punished, punish me," Judy Li quickly spoke up upon hearing that her colleagues would be penalized. "You are all part of the same team. Now go and write those critiques, and I want to see them by tomorrow," the chief commanded firmly. The onlookers reluctantly dispersed to start working on their self-critiques. As they dispersed, the chief turned his attention to William Lin and said, "You must be William Lin. We've sorted out today's incident. The injured parties have agreed to a settlement, and the fine has been paid by your chairman. He's here to vouch for you, so you're free to go now." William Lin glanced at Caleb Li, who stood beside the chief. Caleb nodded, signaling that everything was in order. He then spoke to the chief, "Thank you for your understanding today. We'll be on our way; there's some business to attend to at the company." With that, Caleb gestured to William Lin, and they left the bureau. Watching the two of them walk away, the chief couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions and said to himself, "What a day it has been." Aware of her own mistake, Judy Li nodded to the chief and saluted before heading back to the dormitories. The chief looked at the departing figures of William Lin and Caleb Li, a thoughtful expression on his face, pondering unknown thoughts. ..
