"Lin's mother watched as her son stepped forward and quickly pulled William Lin, fearing that he might be harmed by the bullies in front of them. Suddenly, Luca Zhang's gaze remained fixated on Susan, then he spoke up, 'I'm in a good mood today, so I won't waste my time with a freeloader like you. Get lost and don't ruin my fun.' Watching Luca Zhang's behavior, William Lin understood why. Truly, women can bring trouble, just as our ancestors warned. Luca Zhang tried to push William Lin away, but he couldn't budge him an inch. Luca Zhang grew furious, staring at William Lin, 'What? Do you want to ruin my fun? Do you really think you can act all high and mighty in front of me just because you've landed a sugar mama? Take a good look at yourself.' Suddenly, Luca Zhang seemed to realize something and continued, 'Could this be your sugar mama? No wonder you dumped your girlfriend. So, that's the deal, huh?' One of the thugs standing beside Luca Zhang quickly chimed in, 'Brother Luca, don't waste time talking to this guy. Why don't we drag him away while you take care of business? You can join us later for some fun. I've never seen such a beautiful lady before, not even the celebrities on TV.' With that, before Luca Zhang could respond, they began to pull William Lin towards them. Susan's beauty was irresistible to them. Lin's mom watched as they went after her son and initially thought to shield him but was surprised to see William Lin stepping forward. He grabbed the outstretched arms attempting to pull him, and in an instant, the two men felt as if their hands were caught in a vice, and the pain made them kneel on the ground, crying out in agony. It was like a farmer holding onto a squawking duck, causing a commotion. 'Quick, let go! You're going to break it!' one of them cried out in pain." "Luca Zhang turned around and immediately scolded, 'William Lin, you better let go right now, or believe me, I'll make sure you end up in pieces!' William Lin did release his grip, but as soon as he let go, both of them fell into unconsciousness due to the pain. With a smile on his face, William Lin said to Luca Zhang, 'Hurry up and take them to the hospital. If you delay, there's no telling if they can be saved.' Luca Zhang squinted his eyes as he looked at his unconscious henchmen. After a moment of contemplation, he signaled his men to carry the two unconscious individuals and rushed them to the town's hospital. Before leaving, Luca Zhang gave William Lin a menacing look and said, 'Alright, William Lin, enjoy your little moment of triumph today. Just wait for what's coming.' Watching the dejected group of men run away, William Lin turned to his mother and said, 'Mom, let's go back and have dinner. The food is getting cold!' His mother gazed at him, originally intending to ask a question but thought better of it. Instead, she held Susan's hand and asked, 'Susan, you weren't too scared, were you?' Susan lost in thought, didn't respond right away. William Lin, looking at Susan in a daze, waved his hand in front of her face. 'Ah!' Susan finally snapped out of her reverie, looking puzzled at William Lin. 'What were you thinking about? You seemed so lost in thought that you might get kidnapped any moment!' William Lin joked. Susan replied, 'Well, there's still you around! Ever since you saved me in the apartment, I knew how capable you were. So when I saw you arrive, my worries disappeared.' Hearing this, William Lin's mother couldn't help but chuckle and left first. William Lin awkwardly rubbed his nose, well aware of the meaning behind his mother's expression. He then turned to Susan and said, 'Let's go quickly. The food will get cold!'" "William Lin's mother stared at him, initially wanting to ask a question but then decided against it. Instead, she took Susan's hand and asked, 'Susan, you weren't too scared, were you?' Not knowing what Susan was thinking, she didn't react at all. William Lin looked at the absent-minded Susan and playfully waved his hand in front of her face. 'Ah!' Susan finally snapped back to reality, looking puzzled at William Lin. 'What were you thinking about? You seemed lost in thought, and someone might have kidnapped you in a minute!' William Lin joked. Susan replied, 'Well, I still have you around!' Ever since William Lin saved her in the apartment, she knew how capable he was. So when she saw him arrive, her worries disappeared. Hearing this, William Lin's mother couldn't help but chuckle and left first. William Lin awkwardly rubbed his nose, well aware of his mother's expression. He then turned to Susan and said, 'Let's go quickly. The food will get cold!' After saying that, the two caught up with William Lin's mother's footsteps. As they passed by Samuel Zhao's house, William Lin's mother glanced at it several times but ultimately didn't take any action. William Lin looked at the sadness in his mother's eyes and knew that it was far from the easygoing demeanor she displayed. It was certainly more than just a casual warning. William Lin turned to look at Samuel Zhao's house, his eyes filled with gloom. Back home, William Lin reheated the dinner, and they all sat down to eat. After finishing the meal, Susan eagerly offered to do the dishes, and William Lin began his mother's treatment. Using the excuse that an old Chinese doctor had taught him a special massage technique, he mobilized his spiritual energy to open her pores, making it easier for the medicinal bath to penetrate her body and facilitate detoxification. After the session, William Lin felt somewhat drained. Although he regularly meditated according to the teachings, his spiritual energy was still somewhat weak. He had always longed for more time, as some of the ancient fruits and artifacts contained spiritual energy that could enhance his own. As for the fruits, he wasn't sure, but he could explore the antique market for ancient artifacts. Taking a short break, William Lin began preparing the herbal medicine. One of the advantages of living in the countryside was the old-style stove and a large pot, perfect for brewing numerous medicinal herbs in one go. William Lin's mother watched in astonishment at the copious amounts of herbs and couldn't help but scold William Lin for spending money recklessly." "William Lin didn't want to mention that someone had given him the herbs for free; otherwise, his mother might worry that it was a trap. Once everything was ready, William Lin found a large bamboo bathtub that hadn't been used in a while. After cleaning it thoroughly, he scooped out the herbal residue and mixed the medicinal bath with water. He then asked his mother to come in and test the water temperature. When William Lin's mother came in and saw the big tub of dark herbal bathwater, she furrowed her brow slightly. Even though her son had already explained everything to her earlier, she still had some reservations. Seeing his mother's expression, William Lin quickly reassured her, 'Don't worry, Mom, that old Chinese doctor is very famous. You can trust him!' Hearing her son's earnest words, William Lin's mother nodded in agreement. William Lin, seeing his mother nod, left the room. The water temperature was already adjusted, and all that was left was for her to soak for an hour. During the long hour, William Lin was anxious to see the results of his mother's treatment. He paced back and forth in the living room. Susan watched his restlessness and tried to comfort him, 'Don't worry, if you have confidence in your medical skills, then I have complete faith in them. I'm already convinced of your abilities.' Susan had long suspected that those words about the old Chinese doctor were just a ruse for his mother. There was no such old Chinese doctor; it was just William Lin himself. She had experienced his medical skills firsthand. While those pills might not have looked impressive, her facial scar had indeed fallen off just as he had said, leaving no trace behind. Susan grabbed a mirror to have a look, there were indeed no scars at all, and her skin had improved significantly, making her tempted to ask William Lin if he had any more of those pills. But out of pride, she refrained from asking. William Lin glanced at Susan but didn't say anything. He simply took a seat. An hour later, William Lin's mother slowly pushed open the bedroom door and stepped out. William Lin quickly walked over, helping his mother to sit on the sofa before starting to check her pulse. Meanwhile, Susan noticed something else—the change in William Lin's mother's skin. She observed that her skin had become significantly smoother. Could this medicinal bath really have such an effect? Susan couldn't help but think that William Lin was wasting his talents by not becoming a traditional Chinese medicine dermatologist. As William Lin finished checking his mother's pulse, he noticed some changes in her body." ..
