"Huh?!" The joy immediately disappeared from the corner of Paul Han's mouth, and a cold gleam shone from his eyes as he stared at Allen Chen. "Sir, what did you just say?"
"I said I'm willing to offer 20,000 to buy these three swords and the wooden box." Allen Chen replied with a smile, emphasizing the words "wooden box."
Paul Han's expression changed momentarily, and he inquired, "Sir, are you a collector?"
"Whether I am or not, it shouldn't matter to the value of this item, right?" Allen Chen chuckled, "Mr. Han, if you're not going to raise your price, let me buy it."
"You must be joking, sir. I had my eyes on this the moment I walked in. I'd gladly pay any price." Paul Han promptly raised five fingers, "I offer 50,000."
"100,000," Allen Chen replied without hesitation.
Paul Han's smile faltered slightly but quickly countered, "150,000."
"200,000."
"You! Sir, do you even know the market rate? Plenty of these samurai swords from battlefields are available in the antique market. Even 2,000 or 3,000 for one is considered expensive. You're already at a loss with that price," Paul Han said, his face showing clear displeasure.
The lady boss also seemed surprised and whispered, "Mr. Chen, I appreciate your support, but I can't let you pay that much."
"How about I explain the situation to Mr. Han? Let him buy it for 150,000?"
"You misunderstand. I truly value these swords," Allen Chen replied with a smile. "Mr. Han, if you can't offer more, let me have them."
"You!" Anger evident on his face, Paul Han clenched his teeth, his expression changed several times, and finally, with a stamp of his foot, he left the shop.
Seeing that Paul Han had really left, the lady boss lamented, "Mr. Chen, what are you doing?"
"Why, can't I buy your items?" Allen Chen replied with a playful smile.
"But..."
"Rest assured, ma'am. I'm not just supporting your business by spending this much. I genuinely like them." Allen Chen promptly took out his phone, scanned the QR code on the wall for payment, and transferred the money without another word.
A notification sounded in the shop: "Alipay reminds you: 200,000 has been credited!"
"Ah? Mr. Chen, you really paid!" The lady boss's eyes widened in surprise. She didn't expect him actually to give her money!
Allen Chen packed the swords into the box and said, "All right, these items are mine now. From now on, even if you regret it, there's no going back."
"Thank you, Mr. Chen." Tears welled up in the lady boss's beautiful eyes, and she gave him a deep bow.
Allen Chen was taken aback, "Why are you doing this? It's a mutual agreement. I buy, and you sell. What's there to thank?"
"It's just that, if you hadn't been willing to spend so much on my items, I would've had to sell my shop to pay for my father's medical bills," the lady boss explained. "That's why I'm especially grateful to you."
"Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to eat. I'll make it for you, free of charge."
"In that case, can you add a fried egg for me?" Seeing her like this, Allen Chen couldn't help but smile.
The lady boss nodded and immediately went to the kitchen to make a fried egg.
After they finished eating, she escorted the three of them out of the restaurant. Turning to Allen Chen, she said, "Here's my number. Whenever you come to Bin City in the future, feel free to visit. I'll make sure you're well-fed."
"I won't be shy then," Allen Chen replied with a hearty laugh and entered the car.
Ava Liu cast him a sidelong glance and remarked, "I never thought you'd be so generous just to impress a girl."
"Was that 200,000 all your savings from these years?"
"You gave it all to that woman. Did you even get a touch? Seriously... Ah!"
"Jealous?" Allen Chen teased, giving her a playful pinch. The exceptional elasticity was so addictive that he couldn't stop.
Ava Liu's cheeks flushed, and noticing that Joe Wang hadn’t yet gotten into the car, she whispered, "Are you crazy? What if he sees us? How would you explain?"
"Why explain? It's normal for a man to like a woman," Allen Chen said with a grin.
Ava Liu snorted, but her heart felt a little sweet.
Their relationship had to remain a secret during her time with Ben Dong. Ben Dong had explicitly instructed her not to let anyone find out.
Over the years, she had grown tired of such secrecy.
"If I remember correctly, you're married. Aren't you afraid of people finding out about us?"
"Don't trust me?" Allen Chen slipped a hand inside her collar, giving her a firm pinch. "How about we do something right now, and let Joe see for himself?"
"Ahh!" Ava Liu's face turned crimson. She hadn't expected Allen Chen to be so audacious and quickly grabbed his hand to stop him. "Behave!"
"What? Didn't you say you didn't trust me?" Allen Chen said mischievously, his other hand starting to wander.
Ava Liu immediately clamped her legs together, whispering sternly, "Stop it! What if someone catches us... Ah! Alright, alright, I trust you. Okay?"
"Alright," Allen Chen replied with a grin, pulling his hands back.
Ava Liu slumped into her seat, catching her breath. "You're so naughty. How could you touch me like that?"
"What if they found out we were doing that sort of thing in the car? How would you explain?"
"You're my woman; why shouldn't I?" Allen Chen laughed.
Ava Liu rolled her eyes at him. "Easy for you to say. I haven't seen you spending 200,000 on me."
"You really need a lesson! I told you, I didn't spend it on the lady boss. The value of the item itself is worth that amount," Allen Chen explained.
"Sure, keep lying to me."
"I'm not lying. If you don't believe me, let's go to the antique market later. I guarantee we can get a good price for it," Allen Chen said with a smile. "When that happens, I'll give you the 200,000. Then you'll see, being my woman, I won't let you down."
"You're joking, right?" Ava Liu looked at him, half skeptical, half hopeful.
Allen Chen just laughed and didn't clarify further. "Actions speak louder than words, my dear Ava Liu. Just wait and see."
"If you're really this good to me, I'm all yours tonight," Ava Liu said with a hint of anticipation in her eyes.
Hearing that, Allen Chen's heart raced. "Sounds great. I promise, by tonight, you'll be shouting."
"Brother Chen," Joe Wang, having finished talking to the lady boss, approached with a smile. "How about we go to the Golden Beach scenic area next?"
"The beauties there are top-notch, hehe!"
"Joe, let's do that another time. We have some business to attend to. We'll call you later, okay?" Allen Chen responded with a grin.
Joe Wang paused for a moment. "Sure, business first. Let me know if you need anything."
"Alright, see you," Allen Chen nodded, then turned to Ava Liu, "Let's go."
Guided by the map, Ava Liu quickly drove them to the Bin City antique market.
During the daytime, the place wasn't particularly busy. Many people passed by without even bothering to look around.
However, when Ava Liu, a tall beauty with shapely legs and hips, stepped out of the car, she immediately drew much attention.
"We're here. What's your plan now?" Ava Liu asked curiously.
Allen Chen glanced around, took a deep breath, and then shouted at the top of his lungs, "Selling a treasure here!"
"Come and see! Top-quality treasure! On sale for just one hour! Miss this, and you won't find another opportunity!"
"You!" Ava Liu was flabbergasted.
How could this guy, a white-collar worker dressed in a suit and leather shoes, have the nerve to shout like that in public?
A pair of wine-red crystal high heels clicked against the coarse floor approaching them.
Before even looking up to see the person's figure and face, the delicate white feet were enough to make one's heart race and eyes fixate.
