"Boss, maybe those two are on their way back. Look, is that them?" The henchman was about to explain when he suddenly noticed a man and a woman stepping out of a car that had just pulled up to the hotel entrance.
Inside the van, a henchman’s face turned pale and twitched a few times, recalling the fear of being knocked to the ground by an electric baton earlier. "Boss, it's them!"
"Look at that bloody couple, so cozy together!" William Du turned his head and saw the two arm in arm, looking sweet at each other, which made his eyes burn with anger. "Let's go and get them!"
"What's wrong, Allen Chen?" Ava Liu asked, noticing he was standing still, looking puzzled. "Aren't we going into the hotel?"
"Let's eat first." Allen Chen looked up at the hotel building and caught a glimpse of a spark in their room.
Someone was smoking inside!
Ava Liu paused. "Isn't there a restaurant in the hotel?"
"Let's eat somewhere else." Allen Chen didn't have time to explain further and began to pull her away.
But out of the corner of his eye, he saw a group approaching from behind. In a split second, he made a bold move.
He pulled Ava Liu towards the hotel.
The twin henchmen saw them in the hotel's lounge area and smirked, quickly dialing a number on their phone. "The guy is back and has a pretty girl with him. She’s a top-notch beauty!"
"Stay quiet and don't make a sound." Inside the room, Mike smiled coldly as he took a drag on his cigarette. Finally, you're back!
Meanwhile, William Du smirked, gestured to his group of henchmen, and said, "Follow them!"
Even though Allen Chen knew he was being followed, he played it cool and headed straight for the elevator and to his room.
The elevator dinged open. Ava Liu looked behind them, her face turning white. "It's William Du! So many of them, we need to run!"
"Don't be scared," Allen Chen gripped her hand. "And don't look back!"
"But..."
"Trust me!" Allen Chen said firmly, his voice and expression solid and unyielding.
Ava Liu hesitated for a moment, then chose to trust him, nodding in agreement and holding his hand tightly.
With a loud bang, Allen Chen kicked open the room door.
What?!
Mike and his men, who had planned to ambush Allen Chen, were taken aback by his sudden entrance.
"You little..."
"Hey!" Allen Chen smiled, seemingly unfazed by their presence, pointing behind him. "Sorry to keep you waiting, but you better cooperate, or my friends out there will make sure you regret it!"
"Your friends?" Mike was puzzled. He looked out the door and saw William Du and dozens of men approaching with menacing expressions. Every face seemed to say, "We're here to end you!"
In shock, he stood up, dropping his cigarette and shouting, "Damn it!"
"Boss, we've been played!" His henchmen realized the trap, drawing their weapons.
"What do we do, boss?"
"Take them down!" Mike yelled in both surprise and rage.
They had thought they set a perfect trap, but now they were the prey!
Feeling as if he'd been outsmarted, anger bubbled up inside him.
Drawing a knife, Mike charged at Allen Chen.
Allen Chen's expression shifted. He quickly pulled Ava Liu and began to run, shouting to William Du and his men, "Take them down!"
"Damn!" William Du and his men, thinking Allen Chen was leading an attack, were both startled and scared. "He tricked us!"
"Boss, what do we do?"
"What do you mean 'what do we do'? We have so many people. What are we afraid of? Go get them!" William Du quickly stepped back, urging his men forward.
These guys now each had a crowbar in hand. Seeing that Mike’s group was outnumbered, they confidently charged forward. "We'll get you!"
"Attack!" Mike and his crew mistakenly thought they were allies of Allen Chen. Seeing Allen Chen run to the side, they didn't chase him and instead clashed with the incoming group.
Screams echoed throughout the hotel!
"Huff, huff!" Ava Liu couldn't run any further. Her chest heaved dramatically as she panted heavily, asking softly, "Allen Chen, what's happening?"
"They think each other are with me and are fighting each other," Allen Chen peeked around the corner, a sly grin on his face.
He was also feeling the thrill of the moment.
This time, he took a big risk, but it paid off!
Ava Liu caught on. "Is that why you said what you did when you kicked the door? Did you know there were people in the room?"
"I saw some sparks from downstairs," Allen Chen replied with a smile.
"Why were they in our room?"
"We'll find out soon." Allen Chen signaled for Ava Liu to stay put and started walking toward the brawl.
Surprisingly, William Du's larger group was defeated!
The fight had been even until the elevator doors opened suddenly, and twin brothers rushed out, taking down several of William Du's men despite their injuries.
"Good bro," Mike chuckled, holding his chest, glaring at William Du, "You were pretty bold before, wanting to take me down, huh?"
"No, I wouldn't dare! Please spare me. I won't bother Allen Chen anymore!" William Du pleaded, kneeling. "If you let me go, I can give you money!"
"What did you just say?" Mike's expression changed.
Not realizing his mistake, William Du repeated, "I can give you money."
"Before that."
"Spare me."
"And before that?"
"I won't bother Allen Chen anymore."
"You idiot!" Mike snapped, kicking him in the head. "You're here to mess with that guy, not to help him against us!"
"What? No! Doesn't Allen Chen hire you guys?" William Du stammered in confusion.
Mike looked furious. "Damn! That kid played us..."
Suddenly, there were two loud thuds!
The twin brothers screamed out in pain.
Mike turned to see both twins on the ground, their heads were bleeding.
"Hey!" Allen Chen stood there, holding a fire axe, a grin on his face. "Your twins are so in sync. Both cried out, fell, and passed out together."
"Twins really do have a special connection."
"You bastard!" Mike yelled, raising his knife to charge at Allen Chen.
Allen Chen chuckled, grabbing a fire extinguisher and spraying it right into Mike's face. "Did you really think I'd come after you guys without a plan?"
"Stop! Stop!" Mike screamed, his eyes burning, rolling on the floor. "Let's talk!"
"Alright, then. What were you doing in my room?" Allen Chen asked.
Holding his eyes, Mike replied, "Nothing much, just wanted to be friends with you."
