Rus Dong led his men, not resting for a night. They relentlessly pursued and fought against Paul Lei's men, swiftly taking over all of Paul's businesses.
In the morning, he brought all the business ledgers to meet with Noah Chen. Noah received Rus in his study. Rus respectfully presented the ledgers, saying, "Young Master, I've dispersed all of Paul's remnants and taken over his businesses. The ledgers are here, containing two billion in funds and nine billion in fixed assets. Please inspect them."
Noah didn't take the ledgers, calmly stating, "You don't need to show me these things."
Rus had initially thought that taking over all of Paul's territory and businesses would be a grand achievement to offer Noah. However, hearing Noah's slightly displeased tone, he immediately broke into a sweat on his forehead.
Who was Noah, after all? Would he have any use for Paul's measly business and funds? Rus hastily lowered his head, saying anxiously, "Yes, Young Master, I understand my mistake."
Noah glanced at Rus and said in a calm voice, "Although you've retired, always remember where you came from. If you abandon your principles, you won't have any left. If you forsake your bottom line, you'll have none left. So, hold on to your principles and your bottom line, know when to act and when not to."
Rus stood tall and replied firmly, "I'll follow your instructions, Young Master."
Noah continued, "The gray-area businesses you were managing, including those you've taken over from Paul, all must be abandoned. No more dealings in the gray area. Stick to legitimate businesses."
Many of Rus's businesses were indeed in the gray area. Abandoning them directly would result in significant losses. However, he didn't hesitate for a moment and said respectfully, "Yes, I will immediately follow Young Master's orders."
...
Last night, Rus Dong, the overlord of Dongcheng, suddenly made a move against Paul Lei, the overlord of Nancheng, seizing all of Paul's businesses in one go. In the underground circles of ZhongHai City, this incident caused quite a stir.
Many people were discussing the matter over meals and tea. However, most were hearing rumors and didn't know the true story. They were unaware that Paul had been eliminated by Noah, and they mistakenly believed that this was a premeditated attack and takeover by Rus against Paul.
In Kent Cao's luxurious mansion, Kent, along with Theodore Song and Ray Song, sat together discussing Paul's elimination by Rus.
Theodore was still wearing a face of disbelief. He frowned and said, "Paul has been a dominant figure in the underground circles of ZhongHai City for many years. He should have been much stronger than Rus. How did he end up being defeated so easily?"
Kent had also pinned his hopes of revenge on Paul. He hoped that Paul would teach Noah and Pauline Song a lesson. However, he hadn't expected Paul to fall so quickly overnight. He wondered, "Rus is ruthless and extremely cunning. He came prepared, and Paul probably never stood a chance."
Ray said angrily, "Rus eliminating Paul means Noah and his wife got away with it. We were hoping Paul would deal with Noah and his wife, but now..."
Theodore also sighed, "That's right. Noah and his wife seem to have incredibly good luck."
Kent, however, squinted and said, "Heh, I don't think luck has much to do with it."
Theodore and Ray looked at Kent in surprise, asking with confusion, "Boss Cao, what do you mean?"
Kent sneered, "Noah sought Rus's help to eliminate Paul. But do you know who Paul's brother, Master Thunder, is?"
Ray looked completely lost, clearly not knowing who Master Thunder was. Theodore, on the other hand, had a look of astonishment and said in a shocked voice, "Master Thunder, the formidable figure who has dominated the underground circles of the province in recent years, the ruthless Master Thunder who terrifies everyone in the southern underground circles. He's Paul's brother?"
Kent gloated, "Exactly. Do you think Paul was able to dominate the underground circles of ZhongHai City just by himself? It's because he had his brother backing him up. Master Thunder is ruthless, merciless, and fiercely protective. If Noah and Rus have killed his little brother, Master Thunder will be furious and won't spare them."
Theodore and Ray, upon hearing Kent's words, both had pleased expressions.
Kent grinned, "Perfect. I had the privilege of sharing a meal and drinks with Master Thunder in the past, so we have a bit of a connection. Let's go inform Master Thunder and tell him someone has killed his little brother."
In the provincial capital of Tianhai, on the bar street, there was the Devil’s Den Lounge.
The first floor of Devil’s Den Lounge had a main hall and private booths, the second floor had VIP rooms, and the third floor was Master Thunder's lair.
On the third floor, an altar was dedicated to an idol. Master Thunder sat confidently in a chair, with a massive Tibetan Mastiff lying at his feet, its tongue hanging out, looking fierce.
Standing behind him were over a dozen henchmen, each with a fierce and menacing look, clearly individuals who had taken lives.
Kneeling in front of Master Thunder was a middle-aged man with glasses.
In his arms, he held a handbag, his voice trembling as he said, "Bro Thunder, I owe you money, a total of three hundred thousand including interest. I've brought it all, as you requested, in cash."
Master Thunder remained expressionless and pursed his lips. One of his henchmen nearby understood and stepped forward to take the handbag from Glasses, opening it to count. He nodded and said, "Bro Thunder, the amount is correct."
The Glasses-wearing man, still on his knees, let out a sigh of relief. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and said in a low voice, "Bro Thunder, I've paid back the money. If there's nothing else, I'll leave now."
Having said this, he tried to get up and leave.
At this moment, Master Thunder spoke. His voice was low and hoarse, like a demon's call from the depths of the abyss. "Stop!"
The Glasses-wearing man froze, turning back with a look of astonishment and uncertainty towards Master Thunder. Trembling, he asked, "Bro Thunder, do you have any other orders?"
Master Thunder reached down to pat the head of the Tibetan Mastiff beside him. He asked expressionlessly, "What did I say about the deadline for your final payment?"
The Glasses-wearing man's face changed slightly. He answered with determination, "Before nine o'clock tonight."
Master Thunder asked again, coldly, "And what time is it now?"
The Glasses-wearing man started to shake, his voice trembling, "It's ten o'clock now."
Master Thunder raised his head and looked at the trembling man. "I did say, if you dared to be even a minute late with the payment, I'd throw you off the rooftop. Do you remember?"
Upon hearing this, the Glasses-wearing man was so frightened that he immediately knelt, bowing repeatedly and pleading, "Bro Thunder, spare me! I just needed a bit more time to gather the money. I was only an hour late..."
Master Thunder's voice was devoid of any emotion, as gravelly as an owl in the night. "When you step into this world, you must uphold your integrity. What you say must be done. Bring him up to the rooftop and throw him off."
The Glasses-wearing man turned pale, screaming in horror, but he was quickly dragged away by several fierce-looking men.
Master Thunder then turned to Kent, Theodore, and Ray, who were standing to the side. He spoke with neither warmth nor coldness, "Gentlemen, you've come a long way. I wonder what brings you to see Master Thunder?"
Kent spoke cautiously, "Bro Thunder, something has happened to your little brother in ZhongHai City. We've come to inform you."
Master Thunder's eyes suddenly changed, and almost simultaneously, a scream was heard from outside the window.
The Glasses-wearing man had fallen from the window, followed by a loud thud on the ground, and then the screams abruptly stopped.
Kent, Theodore, and Ray all turned pale.
Master Thunder's gaze was razor-sharp, his voice chilling, "What happened to my little brother?"
Kent steeled himself and said quietly, "Your little brother was killed by Noah and Rus."
