Scarman was Master Thunder's top enforcer, with over a dozen lives on his hands. At Master Thunder's command, he lunged towards Noah with a sinister grin.
Whoosh!
As he closed in on Noah, Scarman suddenly launched a lightning-fast kick, aiming to shatter Noah's head in one blow. The speed and force behind the kick were formidable, accompanied by a whistling wind.
The onlookers among Master Thunder's men couldn't help but cheer for Scarman. "Impressive!" "Well done!" "That's some dominance!"
Just then, Noah gave a cold snort and executed a kick even faster and more powerful than Scarman's. Noah's foot struck Scarman's knee with pinpoint accuracy. A sharp crack resounded as Scarman's right leg was snapped clean by Noah.
The cheers of Master Thunder's men seemed to shift in favor of Noah.
"Ah—"
Before Scarman's agonized cry could fully escape, Noah's Double Sidekick came into play, landing a solid hit on Scarman's head. Scarman went airborne, landing motionless on one of the open caskets.
The spectators, including Master Thunder's henchmen, stared wide-eyed, struggling to believe that Scarman had been dispatched so swiftly by Noah.
Rus gazed at Noah with pride. This was the god in his eyes.
Although Kyle and his comrades had seen Noah in action before, they couldn't help but be astounded once again. The speed, the raw power, the clean execution—it sent their adrenaline soaring, their scalps tingling, and their hearts roaring, "Isn't this just extraordinary?"
Even Master Thunder hadn't anticipated that Noah could defeat his enforcer, Scarman. He was a bit surprised. However, he rose slowly, eyes fixed on Noah as if reevaluating him. He sneered, "Heh, it seems I've underestimated you. To best Scarman. Well, allow me to personally escort you to the afterlife."
Noah smiled, "Congratulations, you've earned the honor of being killed by me."
Hearing this, Master Thunder erupted, "Insolent! What audacity! I want to see if you have the audacity in front of me!"
He spoke, striding towards Noah.
Master Thunder's pace wasn't fast, but with every step, it felt like a colossal ancient beast was approaching, picking its prey.
Noah's lips curled slightly. One hand rested on a nearby casket, and with a slight push, the thick lid shot out like a missile, hurtling toward Master Thunder.
Startled, Master Thunder quickly lowered his head, narrowly avoiding the hurtling casket lid.
Yet, as he evaded the incoming projectile, he suddenly felt a blur before his eyes. Noah had already appeared in front of him.
Noah's right hand shot out, gripping Master Thunder by the neck, effortlessly lifting him off the ground.
Master Thunder felt like a helpless chick, grasped firmly by Noah's hand. The grip felt like a powerful vice, no matter how he struggled, he couldn't break free.
In desperation, he reached for Noah's eyes, aiming to blind him and force him to release the grip.
Noah, however, sneered. With a powerful squeeze of his hand, there was a sharp snap, and Master Thunder's neck was snapped.
In an instant, Master Thunder went limp, like a sack emptied of its contents.
Noah casually tossed Master Thunder's lifeless body into the open casket, remarking nonchalantly, "I've met people who court death, but it's my first time seeing someone bring their coffin to do so. You certainly have a unique way of seeking vengeance."
Master Thunder's henchmen were utterly horrified. The two coffins Master Thunder brought—one cradling Scarman, the other containing Master Thunder himself.
Had the main gate not been securely shut, these underlings would have fled long ago.
Rus, Kyle, and their companions regarded Noah with fervor, akin to witnessing a deity. That renowned figure from the underground circles of the provincial capital, that feared Master Thunder of the South, in Noah's presence, amounted to nothing more than small fry. Noah dispatched Scarman and Master Thunder with swift precision. Now, standing with hands behind his back, he surveyed the remaining onlookers and calmly asked, "Anyone else planning to send me on my way? Come, face me!"
Master Thunder's henchmen wore strange expressions upon hearing this.
Face him? It's impossible!
Scarman, the top enforcer under Master Thunder, had been swiftly defeated. Even Master Thunder, who had dominated the provincial capital's underground circles for years, had been defeated. And now they, these small-time underlings, dared to fight? What a joke.
Master Thunder's men promptly dropped their weapons and knelt, pleading in unison, "Young Master Chen, we shouldn't judge a book by its cover, your magnanimity forgives us, spare us, please."
Rus retorted coldly, "Now you understand fear? What happened to the aggressive stance you had, surrounding us and sealing the gate?"
Master Thunder's henchmen wore mournful expressions. "We were wrong, we know we were wrong, spare us, please."
Rus and Kyle turned to Noah, respectfully inquiring, "Young Master, how should we deal with these men?"
If this were the battlefield, and marauders dared invade the Northern Territory, Noah wouldn't spare any prisoners. However, this wasn't the Northern Territory, and it wasn't wartime. Noah calmly stated, "Have them carry the coffins and bodies, and leave."
Master Thunder's henchmen, as if granted a reprieve, quickly arranged themselves, carrying the two coffins containing Master Thunder and Scarman, and departed in disarray.
Rus murmured, "Young Master, why spare these men? If they had the upper hand tonight, they certainly wouldn't have shown us mercy."
Noah replied calmly, "The ringleader has been dealt with. These followers, killing them or not, make no difference. Additionally, having them spread the news of Master Thunder's demise back in the provincial capital will serve as a deterrent, preventing any disturbances during my peaceful days with my family."
Rus nodded in understanding.
In Kent's mansion, he, Theodore, and Ray were preparing to pop open champagne to celebrate Noah and Rus's impending demise. Yet, they suddenly received word that Noah and Rus had emerged unscathed from Guanyun Retreat. As for Master Thunder, it was reported that he had faced Noah alone and been defeated.
Master Thunder's men had already taken Master Thunder's body and hurried back to Tianhai City overnight.
Kent, Theodore, and Ray received this astonishing news, and exchanged wide-eyed glances, hardly daring to believe it.
After a long silence, Kent finally spoke, cursing under his breath, "Damn, thought Master Thunder was some big shot. Turns out he's just a paper tiger. With all those henchmen, each of them could've drowned Noah in spit. Yet he chose to face Noah alone and got himself killed. What a fool."
Theodore offered a wry smile, "They say Master Thunder was quite skilled. This time, he must have bitten off more than he could chew, picking a fight with Noah, a young upstart, and getting beaten to a pulp."
