"Xavier Si quickly bought lunch and came back, and he thoughtfully bought several portions, including both dishes and soups. Even the dishes were all to Olivia Xia's liking. Sofia Yue couldn't help but glance at Xavier Si again. This man is quite calculating; he's figured out all of Olivia Xia's preferences.
"Why did you buy so much? How can we eat all of this?" Sofia Yue's tone was a bit unfriendly. "Wasting food is shameful."
Xavier Si's face, devilishly charming, revealed a hint of a smile. "I didn't know what Auntie would like to eat, so I bought a bit of everything. It's alright; if we can't finish it, I'll pack it and feed it to stray dogs outside."
He acted so caring; there must be a conspiracy. Sofia Yue raised an eyebrow. "If I don't like any of this, were you planning to feed it all to dogs?"
Xavier Si lightly chuckled, "Auntie is joking. If you don't like anything, I'll go get something you do like, and I'll save these for dinner."
Sofia Yue was amused, "So, not for the dogs?"
Xavier Si didn't mind, "As long as Auntie is happy."
Olivia Xia glanced at Xavier Si; her mom was clearly deliberately teasing him, yet he remained so patient. "Mom, please stop teasing Xavier Si. These dishes are our favorites."
With a smile, Olivia Xia raised the small table on the hospital bed and placed the food on it. Seeing Xavier Si standing aside all along, she handed him a bowl. "We can't finish all this; let's eat together."
Xavier Si silently pulled a chair and sat down, waiting quietly for the meal.
While eating, Sofia Yue couldn't resist questioning Xavier Si further, as if conducting an interrogation. Xavier Si's answers were flawless, and he maintained a polite and humble attitude, leaving no room for criticism. However, the more perfect he appeared, the more suspicious Sofia Yue became.
After finally eating their fill and letting Sofia Yue rest, Xavier Si was able to escape. Exiting the ward, Olivia Xia touched her nose. "My mom is very protective of me; please don't mind."
"What if I do mind?" Xavier Si raised an eyebrow and smiled seductively at Olivia Xia.
Olivia Xia: ???
"The person who treasures you the most is not me..."
Olivia Xia: ...Fake!
"Do you know Director Zhao?"
Seeing that Xavier Si was still driving the same car as before, Olivia Xia furrowed her brows and changed the topic. "Yeah," Xavier Si nodded, "I helped him out a little."
It was probably just an investment of a few million in the hospital; for him, that was indeed a small favor.
"I see..." That's why Director Zhao was so polite to him; he's his benefactor. Olivia Xia nodded.
"Where are you going? I'll drive you there," Xavier Si opened the passenger door.
Olivia Xia asked, "But you're not going to work today?"
"...Xavier Si gave a wry smile, "I came to the hospital for business."
Alright!
When Xavier Si dropped Olivia Xia off at LM's domestic headquarters, he gave her a meaningful look. "What are you doing here?"
Olivia Xia's profile indicated that she studied design, but she had just returned to the country.
"Interview," Olivia Xia raised an eyebrow and, holding her phone, got out of the car.
Xavier Si smiled and said, "Good luck."
Returning to China and immediately applying at LM, she must be quite confident.
"Thanks," Olivia Xia waved to him with her back turned and walked calmly into the luxurious and understated high-rise building.
Funny how she hadn't interviewed new candidates in a while; she was feeling a bit nervous. Xavier Si tapped his fingers on the steering wheel and then made a phone call.
"A friend is going for an interview at LM; please keep an eye on her."
"Is that why you called me?" the other person was surprised. "It's incredible. Who could make Mr. Chen voluntarily speak?"
"She graduated from y country's UCL University and has a very unique way of dressing," Xavier Si said, then hung up the phone.
On the other end of the call, Meryl Chu looked at his phone in confusion, with an amazed smile. Especially when he went through the candidate profiles and realized that today, among the interviewees, there was only one girl who graduated from y country's UCL.
"The thousand-year iron tree is in bloom!" Meryl Chu excitedly shouted in their Jiang Lin's Four Young Masters group chat.
However, there was only one response.
Philip Lin: ???
Meryl Chu: ...
Never mind, I'll wait to meet her in person and verify it with evidence.
"President Meryl, President Riley has arrived."
Meryl Chu excitedly stood up. "So soon? Where is she now?"
"The Vice CEO has already taken her to see the office," the secretary replied.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Meryl Chu hastily got up and rushed out.
That was their flagship figure, LM's Global Chief Designer; he should have personally welcomed her. Unforgivable!
"President Riley, this office has been specially arranged for you. The location and the view are excellent, and the office desk, computer, and bookshelves have all been customized according to your requirements. If there's anything else you need, I'll have the secretary arrange it for you."
Meryl Chu had just arrived at the Chief Designer's office when he heard an irritating voice trying to please.
Meryl Chu's expression darkened. "Little brother, are you free today? It seems like your new project is running smoothly, huh?"
Indoors, the man introducing Olivia Xia enthusiastically – Meryl Chu's half-brother, Alger Chu – heard the voice and gave a gentlemanly smile. "Thanks to my big brother, everything is going relatively smoothly."
Meryl Chu sneered. "Oh? In that case, little brother, do you know that today's meeting has been rescheduled?"
Alger Chu's face changed, and he turned to see the secretary rushing in from the door, looking anxious and hesitating to speak.
"Sorry, President Riley, I have something urgent to attend to. Big brother will take you from here and show you around the company," Alger Chu said politely despite his urgency. He left only after Olivia Xia nodded.
As soon as Alger Chu left, Meryl Chu immediately put on a fawning smile. "President Riley, I am Meryl Chu, the head of LM's domestic office. I hope you don't mind my tardiness. You are welcomed here."
At that moment, Olivia Xia, in her white shirt and casual pants, still looked languid but somewhat wicked. Her beautiful long hair had been replaced by a neat short haircut, and she had exquisite makeup on, wearing sunglasses. Her elegance and grace had transformed her into a lady of high class.
"You're being too formal, Mr. Chu. We're all on the same team. I'm here at the company, coming back home. No need for so many formalities," Olivia Xia said with an elegant smile, nonchalantly.
"President Riley, that's right. Ha-ha, welcome back home. In the future, we're all one family," Meryl Chu said with a full smile, respectfully. "President Riley, are you satisfied with this office? If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask, and I will do my best to arrange it for you."
"Okay, I'll make a list for you later."
"Sounds good."
Taking the coffee handed to him by Meryl Chu's secretary, Olivia Xia asked, "Have all the candidates for today's interview arrived?"
"Yes, President Riley. They are all waiting in the small meeting room downstairs. Our interview time is at 3 PM, and there's still about ten minutes to go before it officially starts."
Olivia Xia nodded slightly. "Alright, I'll go take a look. You can continue with your work."
"President Riley, should I accompany you?" Meryl Chu quickly followed.
Olivia Xia waved her hand. "No need, you can join later at the scheduled time."
Meryl Chu scratched his head, looking puzzled as he watched Olivia Xia's departing figure, unable to figure out her intentions.
