After returning home, Emma washed Emily's and coaxed her to take a nap.
After the child fell asleep, Emma closed the bedroom door and sat down on the sofa.
Face-to-face with William.
At this moment, Emma's expression darkened.
William, on the other hand, looked unaffected.
Until this moment, William felt it was amazing.
Before being imprisoned, William was in a crushing position financially.
But in the process of getting along with each other, William was always at a disadvantage psychologically.
Being led and dominated, everything about him was based on Emma's joys and sorrows.
In their six years of marriage, he had never been in an equal position with Emma.
Then they should start that now.
"Do you have nothing to explain to me?" Emma said solemnly.
Looking at Emma, William smiled.
Explain?
Of course, someone needs to explain.
But it's definitely not him.
"Why are you laughing?" Emma got angry when she didn't get the obedient answer she expected, and even saw deep sarcasm hidden in William's smile.
"Oh, I'm laughing at myself," William said calmly, "I always feel that being sincere to someone can exchange for some genuity, but I was wrong."
Emma's expression suddenly changed, "What do you mean?"
William raised his eyebrows and picked up the electric kettle to pour water, only to find that it was empty.
"I'll boil some water to make tea first." William entered the kitchen with the teapot.
Leaving a confused Emma behind.
With his back to her, William's mouth corners were slightly raised.
For the first time in six years, he had absolute dominance in a conversation between the two of them.
"What on earth do you mean?" Emma couldn't sit still, so she chased him into the kitchen and asked.
William looked into the other person's eyes with a half-smile.
Emma's breathing slowly quickened.
She doesn't know how much William knows about her affairs.
She just wanted to vent about her mother's complaints. Why did she have to share everything with outsiders?
"You should know what I mean!" William said lightly, "Your mother lacks the most basic respect for me! I tolerated it before, but from now on, I don't want to tolerate it anymore!"
Hearing these words, Emma took a long breath.
It seems that William hasn't discovered anything about her yet.
That's good.
This small change in her mentality was captured by William.
At that moment, he had the urge to uncover everything.
But, for the sake of his child.
He endured it.
Laying everything out might bring him a sense of relief.
But he hoped to see Emma take the initiative to speak out and ask for his forgiveness.
Now, using the excuse of his mother-in-law, he wanted to give Emma a nudge.
If she wants to redeem herself, she will naturally find a suitable time to tell the truth to herself.
If not, William also decided not to be humble and seek reconciliation.
As a man, he is not without tolerance.
But that does not include tolerance for being deceived over and over again, nor does it include tolerance for getting cheated on.
"My mother is indeed at fault, but you shouldn't have made things difficult for her in front of so many neighbors?" Emma spread her hands, seeming a little aggrieved.
William sneered, "Is it me who made things difficult for her? Or is she the one who does not take me seriously at all? In front of so many people, she said that as long as you get divorced, someone will immediately propose to you. When she said this, did she think about how I feel?"
"My mother also hates the fact that you are not more accomplished!" Emma's voice became louder.
"Look at other people who are about the same age as you. They are either the vice president of a large group or at least the leader of a subsidiary. And look at you? What do you have now?" Emma became more and more angry as she spoke.
"Vice president of a large group? Who is it? Who is the head of the subsidiary company?" William asked with a frown.
"There are such people anyway, you have to admit it!"
Emma realized that she had let something slip again, and immediately said, "Yes, you were the vice president of Starlight Group before you were jailed, but what kind of lousy company is Starlight Group? What kind of future can you have in a small workplace with only over a hundred people? "
"William Watson, I'm not trying to scold you. You have to think about the future!"
"Otherwise you will be eliminated!"
Emma's "I'm doing it for you" expression made William sick.
"Emma," William looked at his wife playfully, "You didn't say that before."
"When I used my first month's salary to buy you Chanel. You were very happy at that time and said that the Starlight Group has a bright future!"
"That was then, and now is now!" Emma said loudly, "I was only how old at that time, and Emily hadn't even been born yet. Now that Emily is getting older, there are more and more things that need money. My career will only be like this, you have to look after the family!"
"Should I be expecting you to support me and my daughter? Don't we have to save any money at all?"
Emma said this very eloquently.
It was obviously from the bottom of her heart.
"Saving money?" William smiled, "Emma Yonker, before Emily was born when you went shopping every month, did you consider that we should save money?"
"When you use all the money I gave you to buy insurance to buy a bag, have you considered that we need to save money?"
"A bag of yours is Emily's kindergarten tuition for one year. Have you ever thought about it?"
William's anger surged.
"Isn't it because I want to look decent when meeting clients?" Emma's eyes widened, "Should I be dressed in cheap clothes when negotiating?"
"But did you have to go to negotiate wearing an outfit that was bought using your daughter's several years of tuition fees?" William asked sharply.
He really wanted to give her a big slap.
Do you have to go to bed when you meet a client?
Emma, can you be any more shameless?
How could you continue making excuses?
How could there be so many reasons?
You are simply doing it for your material enjoyment!
"William, how did you become like this?" Emma burst into tears.
She looked into William's eyes and was full of astonishment.
She didn't seem to expect that her husband's temperament would change drastically.
Haha, William sneered in his heart.
What good at acting.
If he hadn't witnessed her betrayal with his own eyes, William might still blame himself.
It's a pity that he has seen through all Emma's disguises.
"Emma, it's not that I have changed, but that you have changed," William said with a slight pain in his heart.
The image of the two loving each other was still rolling in his mind.
Now, the confusion has cleared.
"When I was in glory, everything was good. Now that I have been released from prison and at a low point in my life, you will naturally hate me no matter what." William unplugged the kettle, "Don't worry, I'm looking for a job. I won't need you to raise me!"
"William, I didn't mean that!" Emma was extremely angry.
"Then what do you mean? Don't you think I'm an eyesore when I'm eating for free at home?" William sneered coldly.
It may even delay you from fooling around with your lover.
He thought without malicious intent.
His being at home every day was indeed too risky for Emma.
"It's impossible to communicate!" Emma stamped her foot, turned around, slammed the door, and left the house.
William smiled faintly.
He pinched a handful of tea leaves, put them into a cup of water, and cooked them with boiling water.
However, his hand holding the kettle was trembling slightly.
So far, he's been successful in playing the unwitting husband.
But the reality is that he witnessed his wife's betrayal with his own eyes.
If Emma could kneel in front of him, admit her mistake, and beg him to forgive him for the sake of their child.
He should be able to forgive her, right?
After all, this is his last hope.
William laughed at himself.
They had been a couple for many years. Had Emma ever admitted her mistake?
Did she ever think she was in the wrong?
Even regarding the reality of her cheating, in her heart she might still blame it on his imprisonment and incompetence, right?
He knew Emma Yonker too well.
I once thought that as long as I devoted myself to her, took good care of her, and let her be the queen of the family, her feelings for this family and towards me would never change.
As it turns out, that idea is downright ridiculous.
For people who don't know how to cherish, even if he gives everything to her, she will still take it for granted and won't appreciate it.
At this moment, William decided,
He no longer wanted to wait for Emma to express her attitude passively.
Rather, he wants to take the initiative to lay out a plan.
Emma's car and home, all of those need to be prepared.
He needed to keep some evidence in advance, just in case there was a need to file for a divorce lawsuit. Otherwise, he wouldn't have any proof.
