“Uncle, Uncle.” Seeing Eddie Zou approaching, Heidern Zhang's face turned pale.
Eddie Zou's face was ashen. He reached out his hand, and a doctor handed him a golf club.
"Uncle, what are you trying to do? I was wrong, Uncle. I really don't know him," Heidern Zhang cried out in fear.
Eddie Zou remained silent. With one hand, he swung the golf club and smashed it heavily onto Heidern Zhang. Heidern screamed and fell to the ground.
Eddie Zou ruthlessly continued to strike Heidern Zhang with the club. The heartbreaking screams of Heidern were incessant. Eddie was relentless, and in less than five minutes, the specially made golf club was bent by his force.
Seeing that Heidern was barely breathing, but Eddie Zou kept beating him with all his might, the floor was filled with Heidern’s blood.
Thorpe Chen frowned and stopped Eddie Zou. Continuing would have resulted in a death.
"Thank you, Mr. Chen," Eddie Zou finally breathed a sigh of relief and threw away the club. He bowed and said, "Mr. Chen, I will definitely discipline this kid properly in the future."
"Let this matter end here. You'd better control him. If he provokes me again, he will die," Thorpe Chen said coldly.
"Yes, there will absolutely not be a next time," Eddie Zou replied, bowing in fear.
"How's your arm?" Thorpe Chen glanced at the hanging arm of Eddie Zou.
"It's broken. I offended Mr. Chen, and I deserved it," Eddie Zou quickly responded.
Suddenly, Thorpe Chen reached out with his right hand, grabbing Eddie Zou's arm and gently twisted it. There was a crisp sound.
Eddie Zou was taken aback. That sound signified his arm had miraculously healed. Traditionally, such an injury would take three months to heal, but now, trying to move his arm, he found it was perfectly fine.
"Thank you, Mr. Chen," Eddie Zou exclaimed joyfully. Any favor from Thorpe Chen was a blessing in his eyes.
"Don't lift heavy objects for three days. After that, it will be completely healed," Thorpe Chen said indifferently.
"Yes, thank you, sir," Eddie Zou replied, amazed. He had seen renowned traditional doctors, and they had told him it would take at least three months. Yet, Thorpe Chen had healed him instantly.
"Let's go," Thorpe Chen said with a slight smile after sorting things out.
"Alright," Lorraine Ning replied with mixed feelings, leaving alongside Thorpe Chen.
"Mr. Zou, what about Young Master Zhang?" asked a bodyguard after Thorpe Chen left.
"Quickly, take him to the damn hospital," Eddie Zou sighed deeply and hurriedly checked Heidern's condition. He felt the pain of harming his nephew, but he had no choice.
Regardless of Thorpe Chen's strength, just the Lin family behind him was not something Eddie Zou could afford to offend.
"Thank you for today. Let me introduce myself, I'm Lorraine Ning," Lorraine said, extending her hand to Thorpe Chen after they left.
"Thorpe Chen," he shook her hand.
"Your name is the same as a friend of mine," Lorraine said, looking down.
"There are many people with the same names," Thorpe Chen chuckled.
"Yes, many have the same name, but there's only one him in the world," Lorraine turned away, wiping away a tear.
Thorpe Chen stared at her, knowing she was crying.
Suddenly, Lorraine's bag dropped, and a file burst open. There was a torn case file.
Thorpe Chen bent down to pick it up and was shocked to see a photograph of his previous life. This was a case reversal document. Even though he had been executed a year ago, she had not given up.
"This... is your friend?" Thorpe Chen stared at the document, his eyes slightly reddened.
"Yes, he was sentenced to death for drunk driving resulting in three deaths and one injury. I've been trying to find evidence to overturn his conviction," Lorraine hurriedly picked up her belongings.
"Do you believe he was innocent?" Thorpe Chen's eyes shimmered.
"He was innocent," Lorraine replied with conviction.
"The evidence was conclusive, and even the court ruled. Why do you believe he was innocent?" Thorpe Chen asked.
"Because I knew him well enough. Someone like him, who can't even ride an electric bike after having a beer, how could he possibly drink and drive?" Lorraine Ning murmured.
Thorpe Chen was shocked, his heart trembling. Before his execution, no matter how he tried to explain, it was all in vain. Even Enid Li thought he was the murderer. He felt abandoned by the world. Fortunately, she never gave up on him here.
"Let me buy you a drink as a thank you," Lorraine Ning said, regaining her composure from her grief.
"You shouldn't drink anymore. If you do, your migraine will act up. You shouldn't take the ibuprofen extended-release tablets you regularly take after drinking," Thorpe Chen said.
"How do you know I have migraines?" Lorraine Ning quickly raised her head, "And how do you know I frequently take ibuprofen extended-release tablets?"
"I, I..." Thorpe Chen stammered. What could he say? Tell her he was Thorpe Chen? No, that would make him look crazy.
"Who exactly are you?" Lorraine Ning stepped forward, staring into Thorpe Chen's eyes.
"I'm a doctor, a traditional Chinese medicine doctor. I can tell," Thorpe Chen replied. "I can cure your headache."
"It's okay." Lorraine Ning looked down, ready to grab her bag and leave. Suddenly, her brows furrowed. As expected, her migraine started.
"Sit down, let me help you," Thorpe Chen hurriedly helped her sit on a bench in the nearby park. He then began to gently press on her neck.
Lorraine Ning's furrowed brow slowly relaxed. Thorpe Chen's touch was incredibly gentle, and she felt warmth spreading from her neck into her body.
His hands slid from her neck to her shoulders, and then to her back. His touch was warm and strong. Lorraine Ning's heart began to race. As Thorpe Chen's hands travelled across her major acupoints, she felt a dry mouth and her body slightly trembled.
She suddenly had an overwhelming desire, hoping that the man behind her would hold her tight and never let go.
Lorraine Ning's previous illness was simply a migraine, but after Thorpe Chen's incident, she often stayed up late reviewing the case, exhausting herself. Her condition had evolved into a Liver Cold Syndrome.
One of the symptoms of this condition was feeling extremely hot-headed and a strong desire for intimacy.
Suddenly, she tightly grabbed Thorpe Chen's hand…
Thorpe Chen was slightly taken aback. He stopped and said, "Don't stay up late in the future, and keep a cheerful mood. I'll prepare a prescription for you and with acupuncture, you'll be cured in half a month."
"Thank you," Lorraine Ning, drenched in sweat, hastily got up and said, "I, I should go."
"I'll add you on WeChat, and I'll send you the prescription. Make sure you take your medicine on time," Thorpe Chen reminded her.
"Okay." Lorraine Ning looked deeply into Thorpe Chen's eyes, as if trying to engrave him in her heart, then hurriedly left, almost as if she was escaping.
Thorpe Chen smiled, looking at the time, realizing it was getting late, and he should go home too.
By the time he got home, Gloria Ye had already returned, though she seemed a bit upset.
"Honey, what's wrong? You seem unhappy?" Thorpe Chen asked.
"It's nothing, just a bit tired," Gloria Ye managed a smile, "Let's go to bed, dear."
Thorpe Chen frowned. Something was definitely bothering Gloria Ye. Her expression gave it away.
When she left, she had secured a big order from Yibo Group. She should have been happy. Now, looking like this, there was only one possibility: that Wang guy must have caused problems for her again.
