"Brother Dylan, I wasn't hiding from you. I've been busy trying to make money to pay you back," William Li said with a submissive expression on his face as he saw the bald man, seeming somewhat scared.
"William Li, cut the crap. Didn't the last time I broke your leg teach you a lesson? Today, if you don't pay up, I'll break your other leg!" Dylan said coldly.
"You broke Fatty's leg?" Aiden Ye frowned upon hearing this.
He thought William Li's leg had been broken by Liam Hong, but it turned out to be this guy called Dylan.
"Yeah, that's right, I broke it. He didn't pay back the money he owed me, so I broke one of his legs. What, are you going to pay his debt?" Dylan glanced at Aiden Ye and scoffed.
"Dylan, it's not his business. I will pay back the money I owe you!" William Li hurriedly limped over, placing himself in front of Aiden Ye.
"I'm sick of hearing that. Today, I don't need your money, I'll just break your arms and legs!" Dylan said, ready to make his move.
But in the next moment, he was kicked to the ground by Aiden Ye.
"Damn it, you dare hit me, you're looking for death, get him!" Dylan shouted.
Instantly, over a dozen men rushed towards Aiden Ye.
"Aiden, I'll hold them off, you run!" William Li shouted to Aiden Ye.
Seeing this, Aiden Ye's heart ached once again.
When they used to fight, it was always William Li who stood in front, telling him to run first.
Back then, William Li was as strong as an ox. Just standing there made people feel safe.
But now, even though he was weak, he still stood in front of Aiden Ye.
"Fatty, this time, I'll protect you." Aiden Ye patted William Li's shoulder, and the next moment, he moved.
Bang, bang, bang!
In just a few seconds, all the men that Dylan brought were knocked down by Aiden Ye.
"Holy shit, when did you become so strong?" William Li rubbed his eyes, hardly believing what he saw.
After Aiden Ye took down Dylan's men, he walked over to Dylan.
He stepped on Dylan's leg.
He was about to break Dylan's leg.
"Do you know who I work for?" Dylan was in so much pain that sweat beaded on his bald head.
"I don't care who you are," Aiden Ye said without any nonsense, and with a crack, he crushed Dylan's leg at the knee.
"Ah! Son of a bitch, you're dead!" Dylan cursed loudly.
After being cursed at, Aiden Ye cracked Dylan's other knee as well.
From that day on, Dylan could only spend his life in a wheelchair.
"Still cursing?" Aiden Ye said, narrowing his eyes.
Dylan endured the pain, his eyes fiery with anger.
But he didn't dare to curse at Aiden Ye anymore.
"How much does he owe you? I'll pay for it. Come to the Imperial Mansion to find me for the money!" Aiden Ye said coldly.
Hearing Aiden Ye's words, everyone thought he meant they should go to the underworld to find him for the money, which scared them.
They quickly carried Dylan away.
Afraid that if they were too late, Aiden Ye might really send them to the underworld.
After Dylan's men left, William Li's face looked very unpleasant.
He didn't speak, as if he was pondering something.
"Aiden, come with me!"
William Li pulled Aiden Ye and walked upstairs.
Eventually, they arrived at a dilapidated rental room.
William Li pulled out a plastic bag from beneath the bed and opened it, it was full of money.
But the money was all in small denominations.
Mostly ones and fives, with hardly any notes over ten.
Still, all together, there should be over a thousand yuan.
"Aiden, take this money and leave Jiangdu now," William Li said seriously.
"Why should I leave?" Aiden Ye was puzzled.
"Aiden, do you know who you just crippled?"
"Who?"
"He's called Dylan, and he's with the Four Notorious Ruffians!"
"Four Notorious Ruffians? What's that?"
"Ah, never mind that. Just listen to me, buy a ticket and leave now. There's still time. Once the other three ruffians find out you took out one of their own, you won't be able to run!"
Seeing the worried look on William Li's face, Aiden Ye patted his shoulder and said, "Fatty, from today on, we're the ones who do the bullying. No one bullies us."
"Aiden, I'm not joking with you. Don't think the money is too little. I don't have the ability to work much right now. I could only get this much. Take it and go," William Li urged anxiously.
Though Aiden Ye had defeated Dylan, the Four Notorious Ruffians were not a joke.
"Aiden, can't you just listen to me for once!"
"Damn it, what's all this noise? You're not letting people sleep!" At that moment, a woman in her nightwear, fairly attractive but looking to be about forty, stormed in, cursing, "William Li, you damn cripple, are you calling ghosts or what?"
Then, seeing the money in William Li's hand, her eyes lit up, and she went to snatch it.
"William Li, so you've got money, huh? You have money but don't give it to me!"
"Sheryl, this money is for my brother's fare. Don't snatch it."
The woman named Sheryl didn't care; she insisted on snatching it.
Aiden Ye grabbed her arm.
"Why are you taking Fatty's money?" Aiden Ye frowned.
"What do you mean 'taking'? He owes me! I serviced him all night, and he dared to tell me he'd owe me. I've never met anyone who owed for a night's work before! If it weren't for feeling sorry for him, I'd have crippled him!" Sheryl said loudly.
Turns out, Sheryl was a street girl.
Or rather, she should be called an old street woman.
Hearing Sheryl's words, Aiden Ye embarrassingly let go of her.
Sheryl snatched the money from William Li's hand.
Then she was about to leave but eventually took a few ten-yuan notes from the pile and handed them back to William Li, saying, "Here, keep some change for food; don't starve to death!"
With that, she sashayed out of the room.
Watching Sheryl walk away with the money, William Li was deeply pained.
"Fatty, no offense, but how did you end up owing a street woman?" Aiden Ye was somewhat speechless.
"Hey, ever since that bastard Liam Hong hit me, my body's gotten worse every day. I can't do heavy labor anymore. That money... I begged for it on the overpass..." William Li said, looking downcast.
He used to be big and strong, not earning much but still popular with the ladies.
But now, he had to resort to a forty-year-old street woman to fulfill his need.
And he didn't even pay her.
Hearing that William Li had begged for the money, Aiden Ye was both heartbroken and moved.
William Li was clearly having a hard time himself, but he was still willing to give the money he had begged for to him.
That's what real brothers are like.
"Fatty, we're going to be brothers for life!" Aiden Ye declared emphatically.
