Five years ago, Luna was only fourteen or fifteen.
Back then, Luna was obedient and sensible, excelling in her studies, the epitome of a well-behaved girl in the eyes of adults.
But now, Luna, with her smoky makeup, hair permed into big waves, and dyed red, had transformed.
She was either a nightclub princess or a bar girl.
"Luna, so you're at home!" The thugs couldn't help but be captivated when they saw Luna.
Undoubtedly, rare beauties like Luna were hard to come by, even in the nightlife scene.
Especially those pairs of youthful and energetic long legs, which could be fatal.
"Luna!" Aiden called out.
Luna glared at Aiden without any kindness. "You chose the perfect time to come back, didn't you?"
Luna had been back for a while.
She just didn't dare to show herself because she saw the thugs lurking at the door.
But Aiden ran over.
Luna harbored resentment toward her brother, who had been missing for five years.
However, she couldn't just watch him get caught by Brother Max's people.
"Aiden, I'll hold them off. You find a chance to run!" Luna whispered to Aiden as she passed by.
Remembering the days when Luna and Aiden were extremely close, Luna followed him around like a shadow and called him brother every day.
She even vowed to marry him in the future.
But now, she directly called him by his name.
"Miss Luna, come home with us!" The thugs surrounded Luna.
However, Aiden stood in front of Luna.
"Aiden, what are you doing? I told you to run!" Luna frowned.
"It's okay, Luna. I won't let them take you away." Aiden said solemnly.
"Hey, kid, are you looking for trouble?" The thugs lost their patience.
Immediately, a burly thug grabbed Aiden's collar, intending to throw him out.
However, the muscular thug exerted all his strength, but Aiden remained unmoved.
"He's a tough one, let's attack together!"
Several thugs attacked simultaneously.
One of them even pulled out a folding knife and stabbed it toward Aiden.
"Aiden, be careful!" Luna exclaimed.
Facing the thugs' assault, Aiden showed no fear.
For him, these thugs were no different from newborn babies.
He grabbed the wrist of the thug holding the folding knife and twisted it gently.
Snap! The man's wrist was directly twisted.
Then, with a few casual kicks, he knocked the thugs to the ground.
"He's too tough; let's retreat!"
The thugs knew they encountered a tough opponent and hurriedly withdrew.
"Kid, you're lucky. Luna, no matter how far you run, Brother Max already knows where your mom works!" The thugs shouted threats at Aiden and Luna from a distance.
"If you dare touch my mom, I'll fight you to the death!" Luna gritted her teeth.
"Luna, what's going on?" Aiden asked Luna.
Luna took out the keys from her short shorts pocket, opened the door, and they both entered the house.
Luna poured herself a glass of water, took a big sip, then handed it to Aiden. "Want some?"
Seeing this scene, Aiden knew that this girl still had her concerns.
He promptly took the cup.
His gaze scanned the room.
Compared to five years ago, the house had hardly changed much.
The only difference was the scarcity of furniture.
Luna quickly removed her heavy makeup.
Then, she took out clothes from the wardrobe and started changing in front of Aiden.
Aiden quickly turned away.
Even though Luna used to change clothes in front of him frequently, even asking for help with zippers, back then, Luna was still a child.
But now, Luna had grown up.
She had become a graceful young woman.
It was better to avoid any suspicion.
Soon, Luna finished changing.
She wore a T-shirt on top and a pair of tight jeans below, transforming instantly from a seductive nightclub girl into a sweet and sensible neighbor girl.
"Aren't you supposed to be dead after falling off the cliff?"
"How are you still alive?"
Luna stared at Aiden with her beautiful big eyes.
It was evident that Luna still cared about Aiden.
"I was saved by someone and luckily survived," Aiden replied.
"Oh."
Luna casually responded.
Then, the atmosphere became somewhat awkward.
"Where's my godmother?" Aiden asked.
"She's at work."
"Why are you dressed like that?" Aiden finally asked.
"Why do you care? Aiden, let me tell you, don't say a word to my mom about what you just saw, or I'll make you regret it!" Luna said, waving her fists and putting on a fierce expression.
But she looked so cute doing it.
The previous Luna was already very pretty.
Now that she had grown up, she was even more charming.
Especially the once-"small hill" had now expanded, distorting the Pikachu pattern on her T-shirt.
"Have you eaten?" Luna asked.
"Not yet," Aiden shook his head.
"I'll cook."
After saying this, Luna tied on an apron and walked into the kitchen to start cooking.
Watching Luna's graceful figure, memories seemed to flash back to five years ago.
At that time, Luna couldn't cook at all; Aiden would prepare meals for her.
Unexpectedly, she had learned to cook now.
However, Aiden was overthinking.
After about ten minutes, a scream came from the kitchen.
Aiden rushed in.
He then found Luna scalded.
Her hands tightly pinched her earlobes, tears welling up in pain.
On the cutting board was the food that resembled noodles after a night, seemingly untouched.
"Let me do it!"
Aiden chuckled, shaking his head, then opened the fridge to see what food they had.
To his dismay, besides a bunch of noodles and a few scallions, there was practically nothing else in the fridge.
He felt a twinge of heartache.
Back in the day, even though Yvette's family wasn't wealthy, they were far from poor.
At least there was no worry about food and clothing, with meat on the table every day.
The family fridge was always packed.
Fortunately, there was a small bowl of lard.
With that, Aiden could make some plain noodles.
Aiden started cooking the noodles, and Luna took off her apron to help Aiden put it on.
Soon, two bowls of plain noodles were ready.
A dash of soy sauce, a spoonful of lard, and a sprinkle of chopped scallions.
Suddenly, a delightful fragrance filled the air.
"So delicious!" Luna's cute little nose sniffed, and then she started eating with big bites.
"Slow down, be careful, it's hot."
"Delicious! I haven't had such tasty noodles in a long time." Luna said with a satisfied expression.
After finishing the noodles, Luna took the bowls and chopsticks to the kitchen to wash.
"Okay, Aiden, you should go now." Luna opened the door.
