The scene changed and George appeared in the game world again.
At this time, he was still near the back mountain. After teleporting here, he did not leave in a hurry, but prepared to explore the back mountain instead.
George hadn't explored the back mountain thoroughly before. He had only taken a brief look and knew that there was a large open space here. He hadn't explored the hills or woods yet either.
"Why is the mountain behind a small village so big?" George climbed to the top of a hill and looked at the surroundings.
Not only were there tens of thousands of acres of open land that can be used for planting, there were also hills, a river, and woods. The area was quite large. This was supposed to be just a novice village for players to familiarize themselves with the game environment. As for the monsters that need to be killed in order to ascend in level, they could be found in the small woods and in front of the village. There was no need for this back mountain at all.
However, not only does it exist here, it was also quite large.
"Could it be that the god left this place specially for me?" George thought to himself.
Immediately, he felt that the idea was a joke, because he spontaneously thought of renting the vacant land in the back mountain. The so-called "god" did not give him any hints, so it made no sense to say that it was specially reserved for him.
"Forget it, never mind, it's in my favour anyway." Unable to figure out the reason, George simply stopped thinking about it. Anyway, it didn't matter whether he knew the reason or not.
"Eh? This is? A golden-haired rat?!"
George, who was walking on the hillside, suddenly noticed a familiar figure pass by not far in front of him and disappeared in the blink of an eye. If George's eyesight wasn't stronger than before, he might not have been able to see it.
But, why were there golden-haired rats here? If George remembered correctly, the introduction of the golden-haired rat mentioned that it liked to eat ores as food. What would they eat after leaving the mine?
Or was there some ore here?
Thinking of this possibility, George suddenly became excited.
The old village chief said before that there was only a mine in front of the village. Blacksmith Sun also said the same. So, if a mine was found in the back mountain, wouldn't it be ownerless? The government would not find out, and the people in the village wouldn't know.
That was a mine that can be regarded as his own!
The more George thought about it, the more excited he became, and he quickly ran in the direction where the golden-haired rat disappeared earlier.
"I remember it suddenly disappeared around here. Where did it go?" George wandered around the place where the golden-haired rat disappeared for a long time, but did not find anything unusual.
"Did I see it wrongly? Or does the golden-haired rat like to eat other things besides ores? So, there are no mines nearby?" George, who had been searching for a long time and found no clues, couldn't help but wonder in depress.
At this moment, George slipped, and then his height suddenly reduced by half. He was stuck in the entrance of a cave.
George quickly struggled to climb out of the cave, and then looked into it.
The cave was so dark that it was hard to see how deep it was. If it weren't for the small entrance, George might have just fallen in.
"Why is there a cave entrance here? Who dug it?" George then discovered that the entrance was covered with fallen leaves. That way why he walked around here several times without discovering it. If he hadn't just stepped on it, he might not have discovered the hole at all.
But why was there a hole here? Was it dug by humans or animals?
"Could it be that the golden-haired rat entered here just now?" George guessed.
This was quite possible, otherwise, the golden-haired mouse would not suddenly disappear for no reason.
George quickly took the medical shovel out of his backpack, then laid down on the ground and started digging. He wanted to make the entrance of the cave larger to see what was inside.
George was no stranger to digging. He had killed the ferocious colourful tiger by digging a trap before, so now he was very skilful in digging.
Soon, the entrance of the cave was greatly enlarged by George. He stretched his neck and looked inside, but it was still pitch black and he could not see the bottom at all. Moreover, other than the entrance of the cave which he dug, the rest of the cave was still very narrow. Hence, George couldn't get in even if he wanted to go down.
"I don't care, I have to see what's inside today!" Unwilling to give up, George continued to dig deeper into the cave.
So, in the following time, George did not do anything else, but focused solely on digging. He continued to expand the part inside the cave. It was originally very narrow and could not accommodate George's body, but now it had a diameter of over a meter, which was enough for George to go down.
The direction inside the cave was diagonally downward. As George kept digging deeper into the cave, a large amount of soil had accumulated outside it.
When George dug about ten meters according to the direction of the cave, his feet gave way, and then he fell through.
"Bang!"
George fell about one meter before landing heavily on his butt.
"Crap, it hurts!" George struggled to get up, rubbed his butt and muttered to himself, "It seems like I fell on a rock. Who is so wicked as to throw a rock here?"
"Wait, no! A rock?!"George suddenly reacted, bent down, and searched for the place where he just fell, and sure enough he found something in the shape of a rock.
George use his appraisal skill on it.
Iron ore waste: The ore residue left behind after an iron ore is eaten by a golden-haired rat.
George didn't care to complain about the pickiness of the golden-haired rat, but looked at the pebbles in his hand joyfully.
It was actually an ore!
George quickly raised his head and looked around, only to realize that the space here was not small, covering about ten square meters. It was surrounded by ordinary soil on three sides, but directly in front of him, there was something like a mineral wall.
George quickly ran over and touched it. Sure enough, it was not made of soft soil, but metal minerals.
He faced the "wall" instantly and used the appraisal skill.
Good iron ore, high-quality silver ore, high-quality starburst, high-quality iron ore, high-quality obsidian...
With the continuous identification, the joy on George's face became more apparent. As expected, this "wall" was made of ores. There were all kinds of ores, not only the common ones, but also the rarer ones.
More importantly, the quality of these ores was very good!
