Being a physical education teacher was still very relaxing, whether it was during class or when there is no class.
Several people in George's office were either chatting or surfing the Internet on their first day at work. The welfare conditions of Jiangzhou University were good. Every teacher had a computer in the office, even the physical education teachers.
Except for George, everyone in the office were old familiars. It can be seen that Elijah still had some status in this office. At least, after he showed hostility towards George, Luca was okay and occasionally talked to him, but the other two male teachers became a little indifferent. As for Calista Geng, she rarely talked at all, and she was seated far away from George. So what conversation could they possibly have at all?
So much so that when George first arrived, he felt a little isolated.
However, George didn't care much about it. He was happy and relaxed surfing the Internet alone. Things were quite good.
In such a leisurely and slightly boring state, George ended his first day as a teacher.
"It's time, it's time to get off work, let's go to Kelmen!" As soon as the time came, Elijah stood up and shouted.
In fact, before it was time to get off work, Elijah had already discussed with the others about where to have dinner. Of course, the person he asked was mainly Calista, but she dismissed his words and ignored him, but the other three teachers gave him a lot of responses.
"Mr. Li, are we really going to Kelmen?" one of the teachers asked, with some excitement in his expectant gaze.
Kelmen was one of the most famous restaurants in Jiangzhou. Of course, it was also one of the most expensive restaurants. It wasn't a place that ordinary teachers like them can afford. When Elijah suggested Kelmen, he said it was his treat. That was why this teacher was looking forward to it that much. If they were to AA there, he probably wouldn't have the same attitude as he did at the moment.
George secretly sneered when he heard the teacher's respectful regard for Elijah. He had heard them regarding him as Mr. Li instead of his name twice that day. The two male teachers flattered Elijah in various ways. Luca was better. However, it can also be seen that he did not dare to offend Elijah.
All this was naturally because Elijah's family ran a company and he was a rich heir.
Although the salary of teachers at Jiangzhou University wasn't bad, it depended on who you compared with. Physical education teachers like them, who basically didn't have much extra money, would naturally have a huge gap when compared with a rich heir like Elijah Li.
"Of course it's true? When have I ever boasted?" Elijah said arrogantly, "Today is our first dinner party this semester. Naturally, we can't just simply choose a place. That's it, we're going to Kelmen. My treat!"
After speaking, Elijah looked at George and said, "It's also an opportunity to let some people broaden their horizons."
George naturally knew that he was talking about himself. If it were in the past, he might get angry and refuse to go. However, now, George's was much calmer and his vision was much higher. Perhaps it was because of that ring, George knew that his future would no longer be ordinary, and he didn't care that much about many things anymore.
Seeing how "cowardly" George, the proud expression on Elijah's face became even more obvious.
"Calista, you can ride with me later." Elijah said politely to Calista.
"No need, I have my own car." Calista said.
After saying that, she left the office without looking back.
Elijah was slightly annoyed, but he quickly calmed down. Over the years, he had been rejected by Calista a few times, so he was used to it.
"Mr. Li, can we hitch a ride with you and experience the feeling of riding in a sports car?" One of the male teachers came over and asked.
"Okay." Elijah thought for a while and said, "You all can take my car."
Immediately, he looked at George and said, "Except you!"
"I never thought about taking your car." George said, "I'll take a taxi myself."
"Trying to be tough huh? I thought you had your own car, but it turns out you want to take a taxi." Elijah mocked, "In that case, let's go first. You can take your time to get a taxi. But first things first, it's not easy to get a taxi near the school. If you're late, don't blame us for not waiting for you. We'll help ourselves first."
After saying that, Elijah also walked out, and the two teachers quickly followed him. Luca hesitated for a moment and said to George, "It's really hard to get a taxi near the school, you should hurry up."
"Yeah, I know. You go first, I'll be there soon," George said.
"Okay." Luca also followed him out of the office.
George smiled. He did not expect to encounter such a thing on the first day of his new job. It seemed that his bad luck had not been completely eliminated.
After tidying up a little, George walked out of the school. Since he had agreed to attend the dinner, George would not run away on purpose. He would still go.
However, the fact was as Elijah and the others said, it was indeed hard to take a taxi near the school. There were many taxis, but there were even more people waiting for one. After all, this was near the school and in the city centre, so there was a lot of traffic. Hence, it was difficult to get a taxi.
Just as George was wondering whether he should walk a distance before taking a taxi, a red sports car stopped in front of him. The window rolled down, and Calista, who was wearing sunglasses, was in the car.
"Get in."Calista Geng said.
"No, I can just take a taxi myself." Georgerefused.
"Get in the car. It's hard to get a taxi here. Do you really plan to wait until we finish eating before you arrive?" Calista said.
George looked not far away. As soon as a taxi stopped, several people surrounded it and wanted to get in. With that, he immediately walked around the front of the car, opened the door, and got into the passenger seat.
The sports car roared and left in the many envious gazes.
"Who is that beauty? She is so beautiful and rich, no, I have to tell Avery that she has a rival." In the crowd, Avery's roommate, Nalia, happened to see Calista inviting George to get in the car, and she was immediately worried about Avery.
At this time, George felt slightly agitated as he smelled the vague fragrance in the car, not to mention that he was looking at Calista, who was like a star next to him.
"Thank you for giving me a ride." George spoke first, breaking the silence in the car.
"You're welcome." Calista said, "Actually, I should apologize to you."
"Why?" George asked doubtfully.
"Because of Elijah." Calista said, "I know he deliberately targeted you because of me."
