At the gate, four military jeeps lined up and a black car was in the middle. Even the mirrors of five cars were at the same angle.
Two groups of soldiers stood still as statues in the wind at the gate. There was a way left between them. A group of soldiers entered the yard, carrying gift boxes in all sizes. Soon, the hallway of the yard was filled with boxes.
Jocelyn finally ran out of the house and just saw Arthur being lifted from the car. She was so delighted that her hanging heart finally came back to the ground.
Her backer was here. How can they bully me again? She thought to herself.
“Master, madam, who are these?”
The servants panicked.
Arthur had never been to their house, so it was not surprising that the servants did not know him. After all, even Father Turner and Clara were shocked.
“What dose our young master do here?” Father Turner finally came to his mind, quickly walked to the door and smiled towards Arthur." It’s your first time you have been here since the wedding.”
Arthur was in his wheelchair. Though he was disabled, he still looked noble and even threatening. He heard Father Turner’s words, then he slightly looked up and gave him a glance.
“I came without informing you. I am sorry.”
“No, it is all right. We are family. There is nothing you should say sorry about…” He was a little restless and kept looking at his daughter. “Jocelyn, why don’t you tell us Arthur was back with you?”
Jocelyn’s way was being blocked by people. She was still holding the thing she got from the broom closet. But before she could leave, several servants surrounded her. She didn’t have a way to leave at all.
She glanced coldly at her father, and said.
“No one asked me about it. You scolded me as soon as I was back, how can I tell you about that?”
Father Turner’s expression was suddenly embarrassed.
Clara was clever. She immediately interrupted Jocelyn's words, went downstairs and went to Arthur. She said casually.
“Scold? It was just a quarrel between sisters. Quickly welcome the young master into the our house, it is the first time you have ever been here.”
Father Turner collected himself. He was just about to order the servants, a cold voice rang .
“There is no need for that.”
Arthur looked up. His eyes narrowed slightly, and he looked into the direction of Jocelyn, who was stuck in the corner by servants.
“Jocelyn, come here.”
The yard was quiet at once.
The Turners were shocked.
In fact, they all knew that since Jocelyn got married to Arthur, she had always been a furnishings and never been loved. Besides, she had been in jail for three years, which was a even bigger stain in her life, and everyone thought her life was totally over. But through Arthur's attitude, what they thought seemed not true.
She didn’t know what Arthur was going to do. But thinking that he could help her out of this situation, she could just follow his words. Jocelyn immeditatly stared at the servants who was standing in front of her.
Before she said something, the servants all backed away, watching Jocelyn walk behind Arthur and push his wheelchair to bring him in.
No one noticed that Jocelyn said something to Arthur when she was pushing his wheelchair.
“I remembered you said you won’t come.”
Arthur looked calm and said softly. “You are right. After all, we are a couple. We should move forward together."
He emphasized the words “Move forward together”, which made Jocelyn shudder. She had a bad feeling for no reason because of this.
Arthur followed her to get back. It was impossible that he just wanted to help her keep her face.
Clara saw they were saying something secretly when they entered the house. Her eyes were suddenly red and smiled unnaturally.
“People always say that temporary parting is even better than wedding. You didn’t see each other for three years, but get more intimate.”
In fact, there was a hint. It was reminding everyone that Jocelyn has been in jail for the past three years.
Arthur glanced at Clara with his cold eyes and even didn’t give her a perfunctory response.
Jocelyn rolled her eyes secretly. The man even didn’t do something perfunctory. It seemed that he was not here to support her. She just hoped that he wouldn’t make her lose face.
Thinking of it, she just took the initiative, pushed the wheelchair and said.
“Aunt Clare, why do not you just give him a cup of tea? It’s his first time here, but you don’t give him even a cup of tea?"
Clara’s face suddenly changed. Father Turner gave her a eye-rolling.
The servant soon served tea.
Father Turner spoke to Arthur courteously. Jocelyn turner was watching beside. She felt so embarrassed. Arthur was obviously too lazy to talk to the Turners. He finished two cups of tea but didn’t say too many words.
After a while, the servant said that Katherine was back with Alex Smith.
Katherine followed Alex to walked in. Alex walked ahead, looking badly. Katherine was following her. They looked both inside and outside the yard when they walked in.
“Mom, why is there so many…”
Katherine stopped talking when she saw Arthur and Jocelyn in the living room.
“Why you are in such a hurry?" Father Turner gave her a angry glance. "It is time for lunch. What are you running out for? Leave our guest wait here.”
It was the first time that Jocelyn saw Father Turner scolding Katherine. It was really rare. She would never get tired of watching this.
“Come here quickly, this is your brother-in-law.”
Katherine froze for a while and hesitated to walk toward Arthur. After staring at Arthur for a moment, she blushed for no reason and whispered. "Welcome, Brother Arthur."
Arthur just nodded. Then his eyes fell on Alex, who stood behind Katherine.
Father Turner introduced to him.
“This is Katherine's fiancé, Alex Smith. Alex, you can also call Arthur brother.”
Alex met Arthur’s eyes. He didn’t know why he shuddered. He nodded to him, then approached Katherine turner and asked in a low voice.
“Did not you say that after Jocelyn got married to him, she was neglected so he even won’t be with her when she was back?
But Katherine didn’t response him. Alex turned to look at Katherine, but his face became gloomy.
Katherine stared at Arthur. He had seen that shy and timid look many times. He didn’t have to ask what she was thinking, but he could figure out just through her look.
He could not help looking at Jocelyn with full of regrets in his eyes.
Father Turner kept talking to Arthur and Clara also said some words from time to time. It was so obvious that they just wanted to please him. It was ugly in Jocelyn’s view. No wonder they could do such a thing as selling her out.
Jocelyn looked up casually, just met Alex’s eye. His regretful look made her feel sick.
