“Damn it, I'm going to report him.”
Cindy Ye was furious. Her eyes wide open in anger. Thinking about that old bastard, Luca Li, made her grit her teeth in rage. She decided she must report him once she got back.
Noticing the phone Luca Li had left by the bedside, and knowing it contained her photos, Cindy immediately picked it up and violently threw it on the ground. Cece Deng, who was standing nearby, was startled but didn't dare to stop her, knowing she was very upset.
Cindy, still shaky, climbed off the bed, picked up the phone from the floor, and smashed it again, cursing, "Bastard!"
Both Noah Jiang and Cece Deng watched her. They didn’t intervene until the phone was shattered into pieces. She staggered towards the exit.
Noah sighed softly, instructing Cece to assist Cindy. He picked up the shattered phone and followed them out.
“I'll get the car.”
Arriving at the hotel entrance, Noah told Cindy and Cece to wait as he went to retrieve the car.
However, a group of young thugs, who had been waiting, approached them. Among them was Luca Li's secretary, Jacob Zhang, who pointed to a fair-haired young leader, saying, “Brother Charlie, it's them.”
“Let’s go.”
Leading the group, Charlie, with about a dozen men, quickly surrounded Noah, Cindy, and Cece.
The hotel security guards, recognizing the reputation of these thugs, didn't dare intervene.
“What do you want?” Cindy and Cece were visibly alarmed upon seeing these men.
Noah frowned, recognizing Jacob in the background. Without a word, he readied five silver needles in his hand, preparing for a confrontation.
“Hey, it's that traditional Chinese medicine doctor!”
From a nearby bar, Oscar, leading a group of his friends, recognized Noah, the same doctor who had treated his younger sibling earlier that day.
“Damn it, we can’t let him get into trouble. We need him to continue treating my sibling tomorrow. Guys, let’s deal with these jerks,” Oscar said as he and his group rushed towards the scene.
Just as Charlie's group was about to act, they were ambushed by Oscar and his men. Without a word, a fight broke out, catching Charlie's group off guard.
Charlie angrily pointed at Oscar, shouting, “Damn you, Oscar! Why are you interfering in our business? Are you out of your mind?”
“Shut the hell up! Noah saved my sibling's life. We need him for a follow-up treatment tomorrow. Guys, beat them up!” Oscar shouted, leading his group in a renewed charge against Charlie and his men.
Noah stood to one side, protecting both Cindy and Cece. Cindy recognized Oscar as the tall man she had seen at the hospital in the afternoon.
She never expected him to come to their aid now, perhaps because Noah had treated his sister.
“Oscar, I'll get back at you! Next time, I’ll finish you off! Let’s go!”
In a short span, Oscar and his men had driven off Charlie and his gang. They fled the scene, boarding two vans.
Luca Li's secretary, Jacob Zhang, had already run away, hurrying to report the situation.
“I'll be waiting! Bring more men; the ones you have aren’t enough for us!”
Once Charlie and his men left, Oscar turned to Noah and grinned, “Bro, are you okay? How did you end up crossing paths with those guys?”
“Oh, we just had a little run-in.” Noah chuckled, putting away his needles, realizing they were no longer needed.
“That jerk, Charlie, is always so arrogant. If he ever bothers you again, contact me. I’ll teach them a lesson,” Oscar said with a pat on his chest.
“Thank you. We have matters to attend to, we need to leave now.”
Noah nodded, without further ado. He escorted Cindy and Cece to the car and drove away.
"Brother, take care. I'll come to get you tomorrow," Oscar shouted, watching as Noah Jiang and Cindy drove away.
"Miss Ye, what should we do about this?" In the car, Cece Deng, sitting next to Cindy, asked.
Having calmed down, Cindy thought it over and felt that even if she went to accuse Luca Li, there wasn't enough evidence. Besides, if such matters were spread to public, it would harm her reputation.
The crucial issue was Luca Li's powerful backing. If not handled carefully, it could potentially involve the entire Ye Group.
"We will withdraw from the bidding for the New Century City development in Lindong Area!"
Cindy's eyes flared with anger. She was disgusted by Luca Li's despicable actions and didn't want any further dealings with such people.
Noah Jiang, who was driving, knew that Cindy had been working hard to secure the development rights for New Century City in Lindong Area. Seeing her choose to give up, he knew she must feel unwilling.
After dropping off Cece Deng halfway, Noah Jiang continued to drive Cindy home.
"Cindy, why have you only just returned? Did something happen?"
Junko Ye went up to them as soon as Cindy got out of the car, noticing her daughter's gloomy expression. She pointed at Noah Jiang and scolded, "Useless! Did you upset Cindy?"
"I..."
"It's not his fault. Something frustrating happened at the company. Mom, I'm going back to my room," Cindy said, watching Noah Jiang's reaction, and then headed straight to her room on the second floor to rest.
Noah Jiang shook his head with a smile, ignored Junko Ye, and walked into the dining room to continue his dinner.
"What's wrong with her today, defending this good-for-nothing?
Junko Ye watched Cindy head upstairs, puzzled. She didn't ponder it for long and immediately went inside, leading her dog, and asked Noah Jiang, who was still eating, "Where's the beef? Did you forget to buy it again?"
Whilst eating his meal, Noah Jiang shook his head with a bitter smile.
"You useless man, didn't I ask you to buy some beef for Hina on your way back? You forgot again..." As expected, Junko Ye started her tirade, endlessly berating Noah Jiang.
Noah Jiang continued eating at his own pace, paying no attention to Junko Ye, who was ranting incessantly like a buzzing fly.
Inside a private villa.
"What? He's also connected to Alfie Wang?" Luca Li widened his eyes and shouted at his secretary, Jacob Zhang, who stood before him.
"I've just checked. That guy treated Alfie Wang's daughter-in-law. Probably that's how they know each other," Jacob Zhang nodded.
"Damn it."
Luca Li rubbed the tingling Tianzhu acupoint on the back of his neck, his face gloomy. Angrily, he said, "Even if that kid is the son of a mighty figure, you must find someone to deal with him!"
"Yes, Mr. Li. I will contact Boss Liam Cao again. After all, he and Alfie Wang are also mortal enemies, often clashing in secret," Jacob Zhang nodded.
"Go, quickly."
Dismissing him, Luca Li, still touching the tingling spot on his neck, urgently shouted to Jacob Zhang, "Call some women here now. Damn, I can't have Cindy, and I'm all pent up..."
Soon, Jacob Zhang brought in several tall and attractive women. For a moment, the living room was a scene of springtime revelry. However, before long, Luca Li's face showed panic, "What's going on? Why isn't it working?"
"Mr. Li, let me help you"
Half an hour had passed, and seeing that there was still no response, Luca Li became completely frantic.
The women were also puzzled, unsure what was wrong with him that night.
"Damn it, I didn't do anything wrong..."
Luca Li cursed loudly, unable to resist touching the tingling Tianzhu acupoint on the back of his neck again. Suddenly, realization dawned on him, and he murmured, "Could that kid have done something to me?"
"Jacob Zhang, call the divine doctor from Rebde Clinic immediately!" Luca Li shouted in anxiety.
"Damn it, it must be that kid's doing!"
Staring at himself, Luca Li grew angrier the more he thought about it. He was sure it had something to do with the silver needle Noah Jiang had flicked at the back of his neck.
