"What? The lychee tree was sick? What exactly are you talking about?"
Beside him, Thomas Liu's face changed slightly. Looking at the lychee in Noah Jiang's hand, his voice couldn't hide his inner panic and began to waver.
"Couldn't you tell if it was sick or not?" Noah Jiang, holding the lychee fruit, smiled at Thomas Liu.
"Young man, what's going on?"
Alfie Wang's face darkened, looking at the lychee in Noah Jiang's hand, he speculated something.
Noah Jiang smiled and looked back at the lychee tree, saying, "This lychee tree was indeed the focal point of the Six Unions Townhouse Technique. However, something unclean was buried beneath it, attracting evil spirits into your house."
"You... you're talking nonsense."
Thomas Liu completely panicked and hurriedly shouted to Alfie Wang, "Mr. Wang, he doesn't understand Geomancy. Don't listen to him! If this lychee tree is damaged, it will affect your family's fortune."
"Why are you so anxious if there's nothing?"
Alfie Wang glanced at the panicked Thomas Liu and then shouted to Oscar, "Dig it up and see."
"Yes."
Oscar nodded and, along with two of his brothers, began digging beneath the lychee tree. Seeing this, Thomas Liu turned pale, sweat pouring down his face. He glared venomously at Noah Jiang.
Soon, Oscar's shovel hit something. He had unearthed a wooden box. "It's over." Thomas Liu's legs gave out, and he fell to the ground.
"Open it." Alfie Wang's face turned ashen, and he immediately shouted.
As soon as Oscar opened the box, he screamed in fright and dropped the box. A blood-stained human skull rolled out and landed next to Noah Jiang, emitting a black aura that the naked eye couldn't see.
"It's a human skull. Why would we have such a thing in our house?" Jude Wang and the others were also startled, looking at the bloodied skull, their faces turned white with fear.
Alfie Wang's face darkened further, he turned to the paralyzed Thomas Liu and coldly said, "I knew it. You're the one causing trouble in my house."
"No, Mr. Wang!"
Thomas Liu scrambled to his knees, his face full of panic, pleading, "It was Liam Cao! He ordered me to do it. It really wasn’t my intention to harm the Wang family."
"Damn you." Alfie Wang kicked him in anger, gesturing forcefully, "Oscar, take him out."
Ever since strange things started happening in his home, Alfie Wang knew that someone was behind all this, plotting against him.
So when he learned that Noah Jiang could diagnose his daughter-in-law's strange illness, he guessed that Noah might have some esoteric knowledge. He took this opportunity to test Thomas Liu. Indeed, as he had suspected, it was this treacherous man who was scheming behind his back!
"Damn, trying to use dirty tricks? I'll get you first!" Oscar grabbed Thomas Liu and dragged him out.
"No, please, Mr. Wang, spare me!"
Thomas Liu, being dragged out by the collar by Oscar, knew he was finished. His gaze turned malevolent, glaring fiercely at both Noah Jiang and Alfie Wang, shouting, "The Yuntian Sect will not let you go!"
"Yuntian Sect?"
Looking at Thomas Liu's venomous triangular eyes, Noah Jiang's brow furrowed slightly. He really didn't want to offend people who dabbled in black magic, as they often had sinister intentions.
"Don't worry, young man, this won't involve you," Alfie Wang reassured after taking a deep breath. He then patted Noah Jiang on the shoulder.
Noah Jiang nodded, smiling, "I'm just a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor!"
Alfie Wang nodded and then pointed at the bloody, frightening skull on the ground, saying, "Is this the source of the illness?"
"Yes, it's this."
Noah Jiang nodded and smiled at Alfie Wang, saying, "Do you have a small ceramic bottle, the kind used for storing pills?"
"We do. Jude, quickly bring it here," Alfie Wang nodded, instructing his son to quickly fetch a ceramic bottle for him.
Noah Jiang opened the bottle. He swiftly drew patterns in the air with his fingers, murmuring words as he did so. This left Alfie Wang and Jude completely baffled, having no clue what he was doing.
After a while, he closed the bottle, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and said to Alfie Wang and Jude, "The illness has been eradicated. I'll now prescribe a calming and Qi-restoring medicine for your daughter-in-law. She should recover after taking it for three days."
"Thank you, thank you, brother."
Jude, filled with emotion, grasped Noah Jiang's hand and with a regretful face said, "I was a bit aggressive yesterday at the clinic. I hope you can forgive any offense."
"It's no big deal; don't worry about it," Noah Jiang shook his head, smiled, and then sat down to write a prescription.
Seeing this, Alfie Wang admired Noah Jiang even more and laughed, "Young man, as I said, as long as you treat my daughter-in-law's illness, I owe you a favour. Jude, pay the consultation fee to this young man."
Jude nodded, immediately took out a bank card and placed it in front of Noah Jiang, saying, "Brother, here's 200,000."
Noah Jiang paused, looked up at Alfie Wang and Jude, and then shook his head.
Alfie Wang then produced another bank card, laughing, "Right, I paid that scoundrel Thomas Liu five or six hundred thousand. You resolved our Wang family's crisis upon arrival; 200,000 is indeed too little. Let me add another 800,000. How about one million?"
Noah Jiang shook his head and chuckled, "What I meant is that you've given too much. My consultation fee isn't that expensive. Just give me 1,000 in cash for some good food to rejuvenate my spirit."
"What, 1,000?"
Both Jude and Alfie Wang were in disbelief, "If we visit Rebde Clinic, we'd spend 10,000 or 20,000."
"Well, I'm just a small traditional doctor from Traditional Chinese Medicine Street. Asking for 1,000 from you is still a lot. Normally, I provide consultations for free and only charge for the medicines," Noah Jiang scratched his head, laughing shyly.
"Haha, young man, you're humble and not greedy for fame or fortune. You really are a rare good doctor,"
Alfie Wang praised Noah Jiang heartily, then turned to his son, "Jude, book a banquet. Since the young man won't accept the money, I must treat him to lunch to replenish his energy!"
"Alright, dad."
Jude was happy and prepared to make a reservation, but Noah Jiang stopped him, laughing, "No need, Mr. Wang. I need to return to my clinic to see patients. We can have a meal another time."
"Okay, then I'll visit you next time."
Alfie Wang, discerning Noah Jiang's thoughts and not wanting to pressure him, nodded and laughed, "People outside say the Ye Family brought in a useless son-in-law. But from what I see, young man, you're truly capable. It seems the Ye Family has married into a formidable son-in-law."
"Mr. Wang, you flatter me."
Noah Jiang smiled, if it wasn't for the inheritance from the ancient Yuanshi Medical Fairy, he would still be that useless and mediocre doctor.
"However, young brother, I, Alfie Wang, will remember this favor. If there's anything you need help with in the future, just ask, and I will do my best to help you." Alfie Wang patted Noah Jiang on the shoulder and laughed heartily.
Having met such a good doctor with exceptional skills, Alfie Wang knew Noah Jiang was a valuable ally.
"Thank you." Noah Jiang nodded, handed the prescription to Jude Wang, then packed up his medical box and prepared to leave.
Alfie Wang walked him to the door, told Oscar to drive and send Noah Jiang home, reminding him to stay in touch as he was leaving.
But then Noah Jiang turned to look at the father and son and said awkwardly, "You haven't paid the consultation fee yet."
"Oh my, what was I thinking! Quickly give the young brother a thousand yuan as the consultation fee!" Alfie Wang chided Jude Wang with a playful kick, realizing he had been too overjoyed earlier.
"I don't have cash on me, can I transfer it via WeChat?" Jude Wang asked, feeling a bit embarrassed, and smiled.
"Mm."
Noah Jiang took out his phone and let Jude scan the QR code. After receiving the thousand yuan transfer, he then got into the Highlander driven by Oscar and left Alfie Wang's residence.
"A real talent, Jude, you must interact more with him in the future. He's worth forming a close relationship with." Watching the departing car, Alfie Wang told his son.
"Yeah, Dad, are you thinking...?" Jude seemed to understand his father's intentions.
"Hehe, you know too, Thomas Liu was deliberately sent by Liam Cao to harm our family. If we want to deal with him, we must find a powerful expert!" Alfie Wang squinted, smiling mischievously at Jude.
"I understand what you mean."
Jude nodded with a smile, understanding his father's intentions all too clearly.
