"Hubby, I'm scared."
The young woman, with a look of terror on her face, gazed at Noah Jiang and clung to the young man, shivering violently.
"Don't be afraid, honey. We won't let these quacks treat you anymore. I'll take you to Kangbo Hospital." The young man comforted his wife in his arms.
"She is possessed by evil spirits. If not exorcised promptly, her life will be in danger at any moment." Noah Jiang calmly looked at the young man holding the young woman, the dark aura on her forehead still present.
"What nonsense are you talking about? You can't cure my wife, and you blame it on evil spirits?"
The young man was extremely furious, pointing at Noah Jiang and others, including Henry Chen, "You bunch of incompetent doctors, mark my words, I will tear down your clinic!"
As the young man carried the young woman away, he turned to give Noah Jiang an eerily weird smile, causing him to frown slightly and sigh in resignation.
"Noah Jiang, not only is your medical skill mediocre, but you're also superstitious."
Once the people had left, Ethan Chen took a deep breath and pointed at Noah Jiang, "In this day and age, you still believe in such things? Maybe it's you who's possessed, spouting nonsense here."
"That's right; I think there is something wrong with him up there."
The nurse, Jadyn Wang, and other doctors began to criticize Noah Jiang, thinking he just wanted to draw attention to himself.
"No, Brother Noah isn't like that. You all mustn't insult him!" Ruth Chen defended Noah Jiang when she saw him being berated by everyone.
Henry Chen didn't say a word, just sighed heavily and returned to his office. He naturally didn't believe in Noah Jiang's superstitious claims. What he needed to contemplate now was the real ailment of that patient.
"Worthless, get out of my family's clinic."
With his father gone, Ethan Chen immediately went over, grabbed Noah Jiang, and pushed him out of the clinic. Pointing at the Jiang Clinic, he snorted, "You only belong in your run-down clinic. Don't embarrass yourself here."
"Brother, you're going too far," Ruth Chen said indignantly.
"Ruth, why do you always defend him?"
Ethan Chen, holding onto his sister, pointed at Noah Jiang, "He's just a quack, a useless freeloader. If not for his grandfather, George Jiang, how could he even get close to the doors of the Ye Family? With his worthlessness, he's not even worthy of Cindy Ye."
"Exactly, always craving for what one is not worthy of. He should see if he's even capable of that." Nurse Jadyn Wang sneered in agreement.
Noah Jiang's face remained expressionless. Facing the ridicule from Ethan Chen, Jadyn Wang, and others, he didn't say a word. He silently left the clinic and returned to his own Jiang Clinic.
Noah Jiang had long been accustomed to the ugly faces of these people, so he didn't care. He didn't want to be affected by these irrelevant individuals.
"Brother Oscar, my wife nearly lost her life in a clinic. You must help me seek revenge. Yes, it's Uncle Henry's Clinic at No. 130 in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Street.
They're all a bunch of quacks. They must be torn down. Good, bring people over immediately. I need to take Luna to the hospital now. That's it." The young man driving the car was indeed Jude Wang who just left Uncle Henry's Clinic with his wife. But when he glanced back at his wife sitting in the passenger seat, he was startled by her grim, bizarre face.
"Ah!"
He screamed and, in his panic, lost control of the steering wheel. The car swerved off the road and crashed violently into a tree, smoke billowing from the hood.
"Quickly, dial 120!" Passers-by, seeing the accident, kindly called for an ambulance.
Outside the Mickey Restaurant,
Cindy Ye, dressed in a white professional skirt suit, with her tall stature and breathtaking beauty combined with her noble and elegant demeanour, had already become a stunning sight at the entrance.
"What time did Mr. Luca Li say he would come?" Cindy Ye turned her head to ask Cece Deng who was walking beside her.
"Um, around 12:30 in the afternoon. He should be arriving soon."
Cece Deng checked the time on her wristwatch and said to Cindy Ye. Then, out of curiosity, she asked, "Ms. Ye, I'm a bit confused. Why do we have to cooperate with Li Enterprises Real Estate Group? Mr. Li's reputation in the industry isn't very good!"
Cindy Ye narrowed her eyes slightly and nodded, "Even though his reputation isn't great, his company, Li Enterprises, is the leading real estate group in Yulin City. If our Ye Family wants to secure the New Century City project in Lindong Area and enter the real estate sector, we have to collaborate with Li Enterprises to have a chance at bidding. Do you understand?"
"Oh, I see."
Cece Deng nodded and then whispered to Cindy Ye, "However, I heard from Sister Yue in public relations that Mr. Li is arrogant and domineering, and also very lecherous!"
Cindy Ye frowned slightly and turned to glare at Cece Deng, about to say something.
Just then, a Mercedes Benz roared in, coming to a smooth stop in front of the restaurant. The driver hurriedly got out of the car, respectfully opened the rear door, and greeted a middle-aged man.
He was wearing branded casual clothes, slightly overweight, around forty years old, with a slicked-back hairstyle. Accompanying him was a young secretary. He walked with a swagger, exuding the aura of a successful man.
Looking at the approaching middle-aged man, Cindy Ye's eyes narrowed. From his smug and sarcastic expression, it was clear he was a very cunning businessman.
"Haha, Ms. Cindy Ye, we finally meet," Luca Li said as he walked up, extending his hand with a hearty laugh.
"Hello, Mr. Li. Thank you for gracing us with your presence," Cindy Ye responded with a professional smile, reaching out to shake his hand.
Holding onto Cindy Ye's soft and delicate hand, Luca Li, reluctant to let go, laughed and said, "Why thank you, Ms. Ye. As soon as I heard you invited me for dinner, I immediately cleared my schedule for the day just to meet you. Indeed, you are as the rumors say - a rising star in the Yulin City business world, not only talented but also so beautiful and charming. Truly remarkable."
"You flatter me, Mr. Li."
Feeling uncomfortable with how Luca Li held onto her hand, rubbing it subtly, disgust filled Cindy Ye's heart.
Still, she maintained a polite smile, gently pulled her hand back from Luca Li's grasp, and gestured inside, "Mr. Li, please, let's go inside to talk."
"Alright."
Luca Li reluctantly rubbed his hands, seemingly reminiscing the feel of Cindy Ye's soft hand, and entered the restaurant with his secretary.
Cindy Ye gave a small smile, her eyes reflecting a hint of disgust. As she had expected and as Cece Deng had mentioned, this meeting with Mr. Li might not go smoothly.
The seats were already reserved. Both Cindy Ye and Luca Li took their seats, with their secretaries standing behind them.
Cindy Ye called over a waiter and handed a menu to Luca Li, saying with a smile, "I'm sorry for not choosing a better place to host you today, Mr. Li. Please feel free to order anything you'd like as a small compensation."
"Hehe, do you mind if I smoke, Ms. Ye?"
Receiving a cigar from his secretary, Cindy Ye slightly shook her head. Luca Li then lit the cigar, and with a sharp gleam in his eyes, said, "Just order for me, Ms. Ye. I'm not picky about food. What matters to me is the company I dine with."
Cindy Ye paused for a moment, giving him a courteous smile. She ordered some of the restaurant's specialties before handing the menu back to the waiter.
Throughout, Luca Li, sitting opposite her, kept his eyes on Cindy Ye. Drawing from his cigar, the corner of his mouth curled into a sly and suggestive smirk.
