However, no violent scene occurred.
Noah Jiang simply raised his hand, effortlessly catching the baseball bat that Oscar swung down, firmly holding it in his grasp.
Oscar looked dumbfounded, unable to believe that the slender, fair-skinned, handsome young man before him could catch his bat with bare hands.
The onlookers, including Henry Chen, Ethan Chen, and the doctors and nurses such as Ruth Chen and Jadyn Wang, were also shocked by this scene, their expressions revealing disbelief.
Oscar, who was almost two meters tall, stood a head taller and was much bulkier than Noah Jiang. He looked as intimidating as a brown bear. Yet, seeing Noah effortlessly catch Oscar's baseball bat created an incredible contrast that amazed everyone present.
Especially Noah Jiang's calm demeanour; it was as if he was a completely different person from the timid one they had known before.
"How did this kid do it?"
Oscar wondered, looking at Noah with intense interest, eager to know the strength hidden within his thin frame.
"Oscar, stop!"
Suddenly, a man in his fifties walked in. He moved with a sense of authority and was followed by two subordinates.
"Uncle Alfie, why are you here?"
Seeing Uncle Alfie, Oscar hesitated, trying to retrieve his baseball bat. But Noah held onto it firmly. Oscar glared, "Let go, kid! Are you seeking death?"
Noah released his grip. Oscar stepped back, lost his balance, and fell to the ground. If it wasn't for Uncle Alfie's presence, he would have taught the young man a lesson.
"Young man, were you the one who diagnosed my daughter-in-law's illness?" Alfie Wang stepped forward, examined Noah for a moment, and asked.
Noah turned and assessed Alfie Wang, the imposing man before him, realizing he was no ordinary person. He nodded, "To cure her, unconventional methods are needed."
"Good,"
Alfie Wang nodded and told Noah, "Since you diagnosed my daughter-in-law's illness, then I'll leave her treatment to you. If you fail, everyone present will be held responsible. If you succeed, I will not only forgive this incident but will also be deeply grateful."
With that, Alfie Wang made his stern declaration and turned to leave, heading back to his car.
The people around were visibly anxious. Especially Ethan Chen, who quickly stepped forward and angrily pointed at Noah, "Noah, who gave you the right to make decisions for us? What if you can't cure her? Are we all going to suffer because of you?"
"Yeah, with your mediocre medical skills, can you even cure her? You're putting us all at risk!"
"Noah, you're just seeking attention for yourself. Don't drag us into this!"
Doctors and nurses from the clinic blamed Noah, believing he shouldn't have gambled with their fates. If he couldn't cure the woman and offended these influential people, they wouldn't have good days ahead.
"Enough! We accepted the patient in our clinic. Whatever happens, I'll take responsibility,"
Henry Chen stared down Ethan Chen, Jadyn Wang, and other doctors and nurses. He then turned to Noah, "Noah, I know you mean well, but you should let this go and focus on your Jiang Clinic."
Noah looked determined, "Uncle Henry, trust me. I can truly cure her."
Henry Chen shook his head. He had watched Noah grow up and was well-aware of his abilities.
"Waste no more words. All of you, come with me. If you can't cure my sister's illness, none of you will escape the consequences," Oscar grabbed both Noah and Henry Chen's arms and dragged them into a van.
"Dad! Noah!"
Ethan Chen and Ruth Chen looked worried as they quickly followed in their own car.
Coincidentally, they were headed to Kangbo Hospital.
Soon, Noah and the group arrived at Kangbo Hospital and went straight to an ICU room.
A young woman was tied to a bed, her face distorted, clawing and wailing, making the nearby doctors and nurses shudder, too afraid to approach.
Among them was Professor Zhao who had treated Theo Ye in the morning. Faced with this woman's condition, he was equally clueless.
"You quacks! Dare to show up here?"
The young man, Jude Wang, had a bandage wrapped around his forehead. When he saw Noah Jiang, Henry Chen, Ethan Chen, and Ruth Chen approach, he was filled with anger.
"Jude, calm down."
Alfie Wang glared at his son, Jude Wang, who immediately calmed down.
Turning his head to look at Noah Jiang and the others, Alfie Wang said, "Go in. If you can't cure my daughter-in-law, think about the consequences!"
Noah Jiang frowned slightly, not saying anything, and prepared to enter the room.
"Why are you still in the hospital?" At that moment, Cindy Ye approached, looking at Noah Jiang with surprise.
Noah Jiang turned his head and saw Cindy Ye, smiling, "I came to see a patient."
"You're treating someone at the hospital?"
Cindy Ye looked at him in disbelief. Given his mediocre medical skills and history of wrong prescriptions, who could he possibly be treating?
"Are you the head of the Ye Group?" Alfie Wang asked Cindy Ye with surprise.
"Who are you?" Cindy Ye looked at Alfie Wang with a puzzled expression.
"Alfie Wang, from the Wang Enterprises Logistics Company. It's understandable if you haven't heard of us, we're just a small company," Alfie Wang explained with a laugh, then turned to Noah Jiang, "Young man, save the person first."
Noah Jiang nodded and, along with Henry Chen, entered the room. Professor Archie Zhao turned and asked in surprise, "Old Chen, why are you here?"
"Sigh, the patient was initially sent to my clinic, but I couldn't cure her," Henry Chen, a friend of Professor Archie Zhao, replied with a bitter smile.
Archie Zhao paused, then looking at Noah Jiang and Cindy Ye, he asked, "Miss Ye, what brings you here?"
"Professor Zhao, I wanted to inquire about my grandfather's condition," Cindy Ye responded.
She had come to check on her grandfather's health, not expecting to run into Noah Jiang and the others.
"Your grandfather's condition is now stable. After a couple more days of tests, you can take him home for recovery," Archie Zhao informed Cindy Ye.
"That's good."
Cindy Ye nodded, intending to leave. But seeing that Noah Jiang was still there, she wanted to ask him to come out with her.
However, Noah ignored her and walked directly to the bedside of a young woman tied up and looking pale. She was making a sharp, eerie scream that was quite discomforting to hear.
"Professor Zhao, have you diagnosed her condition?" Noah Jiang turned to ask.
Archie Zhao paused, glanced at Henry Chen, and shook his head, "No. We initially thought it was rabies and gave her sedatives and rabies serum. But it had no effect. Our hospital has formed an investigative team to research her condition."
Noah Jiang chuckled and said, "This isn't a disease!"
"Not a disease?"
Archie Zhao and others looked at Noah Jiang in confusion and turned to ask Henry Chen, "Old Chen, is this young man a doctor at your clinic?"
"Uncle Zhao, he's not our clinic's doctor. He's just a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, and a quack at that!" Ethan Chen, standing behind Henry Chen, took the opportunity to mock Noah Jiang.
Especially since Cindy Ye was present, Ethan Chen eagerly tried to draw attention to himself.
Cindy Ye raised an eyebrow. Although she didn't respect Noah Jiang, after all, he was legally her husband. It was one thing for her to criticize him, but hearing someone else deride him made her uncomfortable.
She coldly said to Noah Jiang, "Come with me to check on grandfather."
Noah Jiang turned to her with a smile, "I'll check on her first, then go see grandfather."
Cindy Ye narrowed her eyes, lowered her voice, and said with a huff, "Do you think you're some kind of divine doctor? If Professor Zhao can't diagnose it, how can you? Just come with me."
"It’s not impossible. Just because they can't treat her doesn't mean I can't," Noah Jiang replied confidently.
However, deep down, he was pleased, realizing that Cindy Ye didn't want him to embarrass himself in front of others.
But what he didn't know was, she didn't want him making a fool of himself in front of her.
