Odell added fuel and vinegar, recounting the initial incident and placing all the blame on Garfield. Finally, he said, "If it weren't for this Garfield, how could our Quickley family have offended Master Yanto, resulting in such a loss of treasures? If this continues, I'm afraid that in the future, whenever we, the Quickley family, want to handle matters at the Hall of Artifact, we will be met with difficulties!"
Garfield stood in the hall, feeling the gazes coming from all directions and watching Odell's performance, inwardly sneering.
"All those things, including the Black Flame Pluton, only amounted to a loss of seventy thousand dollars for the Quickley family. It's just a drop in the bucket for us, yet they make it seem like we've gone bankrupt. Ridiculous."
One of the elders coldly said, "Garfield, do you have anything else to say?"
This person was the second elder of the Quickley family, and also a figure of the older generation relative to Eddie. If Garfield's mother had become a royal consort back then, he could have secured a position in the court. But now, due to Grace's elopement, he was left idle at home, harboring deep resentment towards the mother and daughter.
Garfield couldn't be bothered to say anything, and simply said, "I have nothing to say."
"Hmph, you little beast. At this point, you show no sign of remorse. Do you still have any regard for the Quickley family in your eyes?" One elder slammed the table and angrily said to Eddie, "Master, I propose to drive this little beast out of the Quickley family to prevent further harm to our family."
"Master, I agree."
"This little beast is lawless. If we don't expel him, our Quickle family will suffer greatly."
"He's an ungrateful wretch!"
Several elders and stewards of the Quickley family all sternly recommended.
Cora smirked inwardly. She had long been in cahoots with these elders and stewards. This time, they were determined to drive the mother and son out of the family, to see how they would survive.
"Elders, isn't this inappropriate?" Salim's face changed, and he spoke up, "Expelling from the family is a major decision. At the very least, we should wait for the old master to return before deciding."
"Hmph, Salim, the old master is currently stationed at the border, fighting with China. He can't return in three to five years. When will we wait if we wait for him to come back?"
"That's right. We should handle this matter promptly. This little beast, Garfield, at such a young age, has already offended Master Yanto. I heard he even angered Prince Adam. In a couple of years, won't he have offended the Emperor as well?"
"Our Quiackley family has produced such a scoundrel, truly damaging our reputation.
"Several of Salim's elder relatives coldly spoke, all of them were quite old, with graying beards and wrinkled faces. But the way they looked at Garfield was as sharp as a blade, full of cold indifference as if they were not looking at a descendant of the Quickley family, but an enemy of the Quickley family.
Salim bitterly smiled and looked at Eddie, saying, "Elder brother..."
Eddie waved his hand, then coldly looked at Garfield, saying, "Garfield, without rules, there's no order. The reason our Quickley family has been able to rise in Quewyn is because of strict family rules. However, you are still my nephew. I'll give you one last chance to explain yourself."
"Master?"
"Why let him explain?"
"The facts are clear. Just drive him out directly. After all, he hasn't been officially registered, so he doesn't count as a member of our Quickley family."
"Our Quickley family has been feeding him for so many years. We've already done enough for him."
One after another, the elders and stewards spoke out. They hadn't expected the master to let this little beast explain himself. What was there to explain?
Looking at these eyes that seemed to want to devour him, Garfield smiled indifferently, "Since you all want me to leave the Quickley family so badly, I'll leave. No need for all this pretense. Do you really think I care?"
"Garfield," Salim shouted a sense of urgency in his eyes, quickly looking towards Grace.
But seeing Grace's stubborn face, with a desolate expression, coldly observing everything in the hall.
Cora, however, jumped up as if she had found a handle, pointing at Garfield with her finger, shrilly saying, "Elders, you all heard it, see how this little beast talks, does he still consider us as part of the Quickley family!"
"Hahaha, you all said it before, since I'm not a member of the Quickley family, why bother catering to your thoughts!" Garfield sneered, disdainfully saying, "The Quickley family, bah, I've never been a member of the Quickley family, nor have I ever wanted to be one. Your wishful thinking doesn't apply to me."
"You... how dare you!"
Many elders were so enraged by Quickley's words that they almost fainted, their faces turning pale, their bodies trembling with anger.
"Me, daring? Haha, how could I dare! You all are well-known figures in the Quickley family, and I'm so insignificant, how could I act recklessly in front of you? For so many years, the Quickley family, from top to bottom, in the past dozen years, has anyone truly treated me and my mother as human beings?"
"My mother is the eldest daughter of the Quickley family, your close relative, but look at you all, how have you treated her over the years? If outsiders bully her, that's one thing, but you all have also bullied her, bullying a weak woman, don't you feel ashamed, don't you feel disgraceful?!"
"You, Cora, as an example, always making things difficult for my mother. A few days ago, I was severely injured and on the brink of death, my mother knelt in front of you, just to beg for a Soul-back Elixir. That was bad enough, but you even made her go flatter Prince Adam!"
"That scoundrel Taddeo Cooper, don't you know what kind of person he is? A beastly creature like him, actually made my mother go see him, you're pushing my mother into a fiery pit!"
Garfield's roaring voice echoed through the grand hall, deafening and piercing, full of anger, shaking everyone's bodies and souls, leaving them speechless.
In the hall, there was a deathly silence. Except for Salim, who had just returned yesterday and was unaware, the faces of all the elders and stewards were extremely ugly because they knew that what Garfield said was true.
"A Soul-back Elixir, just a second realm pill, and my mother is the eldest daughter of the Quickley family, the eldest daughter! Your close sister, close aunt, close niece, close grandniece, your close relative! Yet, because of a Soul-back Elixir, you let Cora, that despicable woman, make things difficult for her in every way. Did any of you ever care? Did any of you treat us as human beings?"
"Now, why are you bringing up the issue of me being a member of the Quickley family here? Bah, I was never born into the Quickley family, and you can't use the family rules to discipline me!"
Garfield's voice was icy, lingering in the hall, his sharp tone, and eyes filled with killing intent, leaving everyone trembling, unable to speak for a long time.
"You... you... look at this little beast, lawless, absolutely lawless!" Cora screamed, hysterically, her eyes full of venom.
"Elder brother, what's going on here?" Salim looked at Eddie, asking sternly. He was in charge of the Quickley family's businesses across various regions of Quewyn and was often away from the family. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been unaware of this matter.
