Devin, despite being the Chief of the Patrol Division, didn't recognize Fernando's appearance. His rank was far from reaching the level of a Palace Master.
"Old Master Gu, do you think that I lack exposure to the world? Becoming a warrior is not something anyone can achieve."
When you were his age, I bet you weren't even a Martial Adept. If it weren't for your family's wealth and the acquisition of some martial arts, you'd probably still be stuck at the Martial Adept level." Hudson's attempt to alleviate guilt with such an absurd excuse made Devin sneer.
Hudson was also perplexed; Fernando, at eighteen during the coming-of-age ceremony, seemed ordinary. How did he transform from that to a warrior within seven years of absence?
If Fernando had been a warrior back then, Hudson wouldn't have dared to wipe out the Ye Family.
Warriors symbolized power and status, coveted by every major family.
Some families lacking warrior genes would hire warriors as hatchet man to maintain their status.
"It's time for me to step in," came Fernando's voice, ominous like the Grim Reaper. He raised a hand, preparing to strike.
Fernando's sudden statement left Devin astonished. Could this person be a warrior? But even if he were a warrior, he couldn't possibly be a match for Hudson.
Devin, initially surprised, now shifted to anger. To attack in his presence was to disregard the Patrol Division entirely.
"Insolent!"
Devin roared, rushing forward. His left hand extended to obstruct, while his right fist swung forcefully, ready to administer justice on the spot.
Hudson, witnessing the scene, felt a surge of relief.
Devin, a warrior who had recently advanced to the Supreme Martial Artist level, could ensure Fernando's demise without Hudson having to get his hands dirty.
As Devin's fist approached Fernando, an invisible pressure overwhelmed him.
Devin's face turned pale as he was uncontrollably lifted into the air, crashing heavily against the wall. Blood sprayed out as his body experienced a violent backlash.
"War... War God..."
Devin's eyes widened in terror. As a Supreme Martial Artist, he knew the immense power possessed by a War God.
When a War God intervened, no one would survive.
His survival indicated Fernando's restraint; otherwise, the pressure alone would have shredded him apart.
Unaware that three years ago, Fernando had already broken through the bottleneck of the War God and ascended to the rank of Warlord, Devin continued to be astonished.
If not for this, how could Fernando have beheaded Fei Country's Seven-Star War God, sending shockwaves globally?
Fernando's return was initially a day of triumph, marking his ascension. Indifferent to titles, he only sought vengeance against Hudson to honor his parents in the afterlife.
The younger members of the Gu Family were utterly shocked. They were oblivious to the significance of a War God and just thought Fernando had gone completely mad. Attacking a member of the Patrol Division, especially the Chief, meant he had crossed a line that separated the living from the dead.
One by one, those who were still complacently smirking began to realize the gravity of the situation.
"War God... heh..."
Hudson slumped in the center of the hall, laughing maniacally.
Unknown to ordinary people, as a warrior, he understood the significance of a War God—the pinnacle of warriors.
In a single War God could effortlessly annihilate tens of thousands of warriors.
If he had allowed Fernando to marry his granddaughter back then, with a War God-level son-in-law, the Gu Family would have surpassed all other families, standing atop the entire Huaxia.
He regretted wiping out the Ye Family and releasing Fernando.
If only he had let Fernando escape to the borderlands, perhaps he wouldn't have become a Warlord.
The unpredictability of life was beyond anyone's foresight.
"You killed my parents back then, and members of the Gu Family were present. Yet, none stepped forward to stop it, making them accomplices."
"Today, there is no injustice in wiping out your entire clan!"
Fernando's hand blade swung down abruptly.
"No!"
Hudson's eyes bulged in disbelief, realizing his demise. However, he hadn't anticipated Fernando's intent to exterminate his entire family.
The head and body separated slowly, eventually tumbling to the ground with a final "thud," his expression frozen in the terror of impending death.
"Ah!"
Gu's Family members screamed in horror, with some of the faint-hearted even so terrified that they wet their pants.
"Victor!" Fernando called out sternly.
"Victor is here." Victor, shrouded in an air of mystery, appeared like a ghost and respectfully acknowledged.
He had been nearby, aware that the Palace Master was dealing with a personal vendetta. Without the Palace Master's order, he wouldn't have shown himself.
"Vic, Victor, the Nation's Peacekeeper..." Devin exclaimed in extreme terror. He recognized the Five Great War Gods, especially Victor, the Nation's Peacekeeper for Middle Huaxia. Victor directly oversaw the entire Patrol Division across the six provinces and sixty-eight cities in Middle Huaxia. Considering this, Devin realized he, too, was under Victor's command.
The Five Great War Gods were the supreme beings in Huaxia. There was only one person they bowed to. Could it be...
Devin gasped, a wave of vibrations washing over him.
"Dispose of Hudson's corpse in the river. Exile of the Gu Family members to the Northern Border, condemned to a life of beggary for generations. If anyone dares to escape, execute them on the spot!"
To make the members of the Gu Family taste the bitterness of homelessness, especially in the harsh conditions of the Northern Border, was more cruel than killing them outright.
"Understood." Victor waved his hand, and hundreds of black-clad soldiers streamed into the courtyard.
At this moment, the visiting guests finally sensed something amiss. Afraid of getting involved, they hastily departed, not daring to linger.
"Uncle, where are you planning to go?" Fernando's gaze seemingly casually swept across the crowd.
In the chaotic crowd, one person abruptly stopped.
Several seconds later, he turned around slowly, locking eyes with Fernando.
Xavier Sun felt uneasy and anxious. He had witnessed the scene in the hall just now; his nephew had transformed into a formidable force, easily capable of killing even Hudson.
"Oh, it's you, Nando. I thought I was mistaken. Where have you been all these years? Uncle has been looking for you everywhere. When did you come back? Why didn't you tell Uncle? Let me treat you to a meal." Xavier feigned nonchalance, taking the initiative to speak.
Fernando sneered inwardly. "Uncle, what brings you here? Are you here to offer gifts and celebrate the longevity of the person who killed your sister?"
A hint of panic flashed in Xavier's eyes, and he hurriedly said, "How could that be? I'm just passing by and passing by. I've long wanted to kill that old thief from the Gu Family, but, alas, the Gu Family's influence is too significant. Uncle is powerless."
Hearing the response, Fernando's gaze turned colder, and the intent to kill intensified.
According to Victor's investigation, after his parents were killed, this uncle clung to the Gu Family's power.
Leveraging the Gu Family's influence, he had thrived over the years, contributing millions annually as tribute.
This time, for the Gu Family patriarch's birthday, they had even spent a hefty sum to invite a Buddhist relic.
Seeing the murderous intent in his nephew's eyes, Xavier broke into a cold sweat and said, "Nando, haven't had dinner yet, right? Let's go, we'll have a meal at home. I'll have your aunt cook some of your favorite dishes. We can have a drink together. Your aunt has been talking about you countless times in my ear, saying she misses you."
To extricate himself, Xavier could only play the emotional card, hoping his nephew would spare him for the sake of their familial ties.
In the business world these years, he had flourished by mastering the art of persuasion, with a silver tongue that could sway opinions effortlessly.
"Have dinner? Heh!" Fernando sneered. "What if Uncle puts something in my drink again? I might make another mistake."
Xavier's heart skipped a beat, but he forced composure, managing a smile. "Nando, what are you saying? I'm your real uncle. How could I possibly do something like that to my nephew? You, child, always making jokes."
Fernando smiled lightly on the surface, but inside, his heart ached like a knife.
If it were anyone else, he would have acted without hesitation.
However, the person in front of him was his uncle.
But this very uncle, for the sake of personal gain, had poisoned him, leading to the deaths of his parents, which were his sister, and brother-in-law.
To harm someone so close, he could do it!
"Yes, Uncle, how could a real uncle poison his nephew?" Fernando paused, his gaze gradually becoming more piercing. Through gritted teeth, he uttered three words:
"But! You! Did!"
"Boom!"
The oppressive force of a War God level descended, and Xavier felt as though a mountain pressed upon him. His knees violently hit the ground, and the floor instantly caved in, revealing a skeletal imprint.
"Crack!"
A thunderous roar echoed through the night sky, followed by the sudden appearance of dense clouds, unleashing a torrential downpour.
"Ah!! My legs!" Xavier let out a pig-like scream.
"Fernando, I—I'm your real uncle. How can you treat me like this? You, you will face divine retribution!"
Xavier, in pain, broke into a cold sweat. His legs were utterly ruined.
Fernando gazed upward into the rain. "Divine retribution?"
Then, he slowly lowered his head. "Seven years ago, when you harmed me, did you ever think about facing divine retribution?"
"When you harmed your brother-in-law, did you consider it?!"
"When you harmed your sister, did you think about it?!"
Fernando roared, his eyes turning bloodshot, a tear rolling down from the corner of his eye.
The deep-seated vendetta was settled, but Fernando felt no relief. The person before him was the last blood relative in this world.
"Palace Master, shall I handle this person?" Victor stood behind, respectfully inquiring.
He knew Xavier was the Palace Master's uncle, and the Palace Master must be in immense internal turmoil, unable to take action.
"No need."
"Let him kneel here in repentance. No one is allowed to intervene. Violators will be mercilessly killed! Until his bones decay, and he turns to dust!"
With that, Fernando walked away without looking back, leaving Xavier behind to plead and cry.
