"Ah!"
Nora screamed in horror, her face instantly turning pale.
Just as the blade was about to fall on her, Fernando thrust out a palm.
"Swoosh!"
The sword struck the wall, instantly splitting it in two.
"Step back!" Fernando roared, taking the sword and swinging its back.
Victor staggered backward several steps, the force of the blow vibrating his internal organs. He forcefully suppressed the blood surging up, gasping for breath.
"A sword is meant for enemies, not for attacking your people!" Fernando's face was full of anger.
If it were Brian, Fernando might not have been so furious. Brian, known for his eccentricities, committing such a mistake wouldn't be surprising.
But the usually composed Victor making such a low-level error was unexpected.
"But, but the sanctity of the Palace Master is inviolable..."
"Do you think I, Fernando, can't dodge a slap?" Fernando's voice was low.
Victor was stunned; indeed, he had acted recklessly. This ordinary person's slap—how could the Palace Master, a Warlord-level figure, fail to dodge? It was clear that he hadn't intended to evade.
"I acknowledge my mistake." Victor knelt on one knee, bowing in apology.
"Step back!"
"Yes!"
Victor rose and withdrew.
Nora looked at the rows of cracks on the wall, inhaling a sharp breath. If that slash had landed on her, wouldn't she be instantly cleaved in two? Could an ordinary person wield such terrifying power?
Fernando didn't evade the slap not just because she was Ella's mother.
As Fernando knew, Nora had been exceptionally caring toward Zoey. Since Zoey fell ill, she not only emptied her savings but also pleaded with the Gu Family multiple times. Based on this alone, Fernando regarded her as family.
"Well, Fernando, no wonder you dared to come back. You've joined the underworld, huh?" Nora suddenly realized.
Fernando chuckled silently. It was better for her not to know his identity.
Gently placing Ella on the hospital bed, Fernando took out three silver needles and approached his daughter.
"What, what are you doing!?" Watching Fernando with the silver needles, Nora exclaimed, her heart pounding in fear.
Fernando remained silent. His right hand gently rested on his daughter's pulse, a brief diagnosis that revealed Zoey's condition.
"Doctor! Doctor!" Nora rushed out of the room.
With Nora's cries, several doctors rushed over.
Seeing the three silver needles in Fernando's hand, the lead female doctor angrily shouted, "What are you doing?"
This female doctor was Zoey's attending physician and the one who demanded a hospital fee of one hundred thousand from Ella that morning.
"Treatment," Fernando replied without lifting his head.
"Treatment?" The female doctor sneered, "Are you joking? Are you even a doctor? Do you know what illness she has? What are you pretending to do with those few needles?"
"Yeah, if poking needles could cure this illness, why bother with hospitals? We could all be laid off," a nurse chimed in. She knew that Zoey had a congenital heart disease, and apart from surgery, there was no other cure.
"Hurry, doctor, stop him! Don't let him harm my granddaughter," Nora exclaimed anxiously, convinced that Fernando was here to harm her granddaughter.
Yet, she failed to consider that Zoey was Fernando's daughter, and a tiger wouldn't eat its cub.
"If you want to treat the illness, sir, please leave. Don't let patients die in my hospital and make me bear the responsibility," the female doctor said coldly. She thought that the people in this ward were indeed peculiar. They hadn't paid the surgery fee but had invited such a barefoot 'doctor.' If those few needles could cure illnesses, then her medical skills for the past twenty years would be godlike.
"Shut up! If you keep gossiping, I won't rule out breaking my vow and hitting a woman." Fernando's anger flared at the mention of 'die,' and he would have slapped her if she weren't a mere woman.
"You!" The female doctor was choked into silence. Faced with the robust figure of Fernando, who threatened to treat heart disease with needles, she dared not provoke a madman.
She thought, "Forget it, let him be. If he wants to treat the illness, let him do it. If someone dies, it's not a big deal; at worst, I'll get scolded. Anyway, I've already fulfilled my duty of warning."
This was no different from murder. Just wait quietly for a prison sentence.
The room fell silent.
Fernando took a deep breath. The illness wasn't difficult to treat, but the person lying on the sickbed was his daughter, and he couldn't tolerate any mistakes.
Next, Fernando waved his right hand, and three silver needles floated in his palm, each enveloped in Genuine Energy. With two fingers, he inserted the three needles into Zoey's body, targeting the Forearm, Back, and Upper Abdomen acupoints.
"Controlling needles with Genuine Energy, it's at the National Physician level!"
The female doctor was utterly shocked, her eyes widening in disbelief.
Controlling needles with Genuine Energy was a technique only achievable at the National Physician level.
National Physician level, the supreme existence in the realm of Chinese medicine. As far as she knew, there were only three National Physicians in the entire country.
Moreover, they were all mysteriously elusive. Not to mention ordinary people, even the wealthiest person in the country would find it difficult to meet them.
Yet, unexpectedly, one appeared before her eyes.
The onlookers wore expressions of bewilderment, except for the female doctor who understood the terror of the National Physician level. She had heard about it from her mentor.
As she mentioned, there were only three known National Physicians in the world. To achieve the level of a National Physician, one had to first reach the status of a War God.
Being a National Physician meant being a War God, but not all War Gods could reach the level of a National Physician.
Therefore, reaching the status of a National Physician was a challenging task.
If she knew that Annihilation Palace had thirteen National Physicians, it would surely astonish her.
In Annihilation Palace, there were over a hundred War Gods, and the Eastern Territory Nation's Protector, Wesley had even achieved nine stars as a War God, making him the most promising contender to follow Fernando and ascend to the rank of Warlord.
After a few minutes, Fernando removed the silver needles. Given Zoey's young age and weakened state, there was no room for hasty success.
With a few days of rest, she would recover.
As the needles were removed, Zoey slowly opened her eyes.
"Daddy..."
At the first sight of Fernando, Zoey's eyes reddened. She reached out her tender arms, tightly embracing her father's neck, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"It's okay, Zoey, Daddy's here. Don't cry," Fernando gently patted his daughter's small back, offering comfort.
Zoey continued to hold onto her father's neck. "Daddy, Zoey had a long dream. Dreamt that Daddy left again, abandoning Zoey and Mummy, sob..."
A sharp pang pierced Fernando's heart, but he held back his tears.
At the tender age of six, his daughter should have been enjoying each day joyfully. Yet, because of him, she spent each day in longing.
Fernando wished he could give himself a harsh slap, regretting why he hadn't returned sooner, why he hadn't been there to accompany his daughter.
"Don't cry, Zoey. Don't worry, Daddy won't leave again. I'll stay with you and Mommy every day," Fernando assured, unable to hold back a tear that trickled down.
For seven years, he had shed blood and sweat countless times, yet not a single tear. In this moment, the steel-hard warrior of the battlefield transformed into a tender figure, his emotions breaking free.
If the other major powerhouses witnessed this scene, they would undoubtedly be shocked to the core.
No one would believe that the Palace Master of Annihilation Palace, feared by nations, could reveal such a gentle side.
The Palace Master of Annihilation Palace was also human—flesh and blood with emotions!
