The sales office fell into an instant silence.
At the front desk, the two employees were agape, their mouths wide open, and their eyes bulging as if they were about to fall out.
That person bought the top-tier property, and the commission was a whopping eight million! They could never earn that much in their entire lives.
Regret filled the two of them, and they could truly sense their hearts bleeding.
On Victor's side, he extended his hand, pointing directly at the sand table model. "Come on, show it..."
"Big brother, I was wrong. I'm too ignorant." The Mercedes-Benz guy changed his attitude, nodding and bowing frantically. Someone who could easily take out over two hundred million was either the president of a conglomerate or a young master from a big family. It was something a nouveau riche like him couldn't afford to mess with.
Victor gave a devilish smile, pointing at the sand table model. "Do you like this one or this one? Oh, right, I forgot you like this top-tier property."
With that, Victor's large hand grabbed the model of the bungalow directly from the sand table model.
"Big brother, please, don't mess around. This is not a joke." The Mercedes-Benz guy looked at the enormous model in front of him, sweating cold.
If it were some ordinary foam model, he could bite the bullet and accept it. But these models were made of solid wood, exceptionally sturdy.
Victor snorted, "Who has time to mess with you?" With that, he exerted force, forcefully stuffing the model into the Mercedes-Benz guy's mouth.
The Mercedes-Benz guy's mouth tore, and fresh blood flowed out profusely.
"Ah!"
Almost everyone in the hall was female, and this bloody scene made them instantly cover their faces and scream.
The scene appeared gruesome, but Victor knew well that he wasn't a bloodthirsty maniac. A little punishment was sufficient.
The Mercedes-Benz guy merely suffered a torn mouth, nothing serious. With a few months of rest, he would recover, although eating and speaking would be significantly affected during this period.
This incident taught him a lesson, and he would never dare to look down on people again.
After father and daughter had lunch outside, Fernando took Zoey to the amusement park for the entire afternoon.
Returning home near dusk, Ella still hadn't come back. Zoey, clinging to her dad, insisted on hearing a bedtime story.
Fernando told his daughter a story for a while, then entered the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Dinner time passed, but Ella still hadn't returned. Seeing his daughter's hungry expression, Fernando felt a pang of heartache and let her eat first.
Zoey devoured her food, exclaiming that it was the most delicious meal in the world.
Fernando chuckled. He had added a small amount of Genuine Energy to the food, which greatly aided in Zoey's physical recovery.
Finally, Ella dragged her weary body home.
"Mom... Mom..." Seeing Ella, Zoey quickly put down her utensils, took her mom's hand, and said, "Quick, taste the food Dad made. It's incredibly delicious!"
Ella forced a faint smile, stroking her daughter's silky hair. "Was Zoey good today?"
"Yeah." Zoey vigorously nodded, picking up a bite of food and offering it to her mom. "Mom, try it, try it."
Ella opened her mouth slightly, and as the food touched her lips, she instantly felt a wave of relaxation, easing away most of the day's exhaustion.
"Yeah, not bad," Ella revealed with a sweet smile. Originally exhausted and without any appetite, she now found herself with a hearty appetite, savoring each bite.
Satisfied, Zoey smiled. "How is it? Delicious, right? Zoey wants to eat Daddy's cooking every day. Daddy's cooking is the best in the whole wide world."
"Okay, Daddy will make delicious meals for Zoey every day." Fernando looked at his daughter with affection.
"Daddy will make delicious meals for Zoey in the little house. That way, there won't be any bugs in the food." Zoey looked at Fernando, showing an innocent and pure smile.
Before Fernando could respond, Ella, puzzled, asked, "Zoey, what little house are you talking about?"
Zoey hurriedly chewed and swallowed her food, saying, "Daddy bought a new house. Today, Daddy took Zoey to see the house, and Daddy bought a little house. It's not damp, and there are no bugs. It's so pretty!"
"What!?" Ella's face instantly darkened. She stood up suddenly, her expression unusually grim.
Zoey was startled, thinking she had said something wrong. She hurriedly explained, "Mom, don't be angry. That, that little house is what Zoey wants to buy. Don't blame Daddy; blame Zoey. It's all Zoey's fault." With that, tears rolled down her small face.
Ella struggled to suppress her anger, but her face clearly showed her displeasure. She looked at Fernando and scolded, "Who allowed you to buy a house?"
Ella knew well the housing prices in Jinghai. Even the cheapest house costs over a million. Today, for the sake of one hundred thousand, she had run countless errands and pleaded with many people.
Now, the most crucial thing was her daughter's surgery. The doctor had given a three-day deadline, and tomorrow, if she couldn't borrow the money, she would sell her kidney if needed to gather the required one hundred thousand for her daughter's surgery.
At this critical moment of life and death for her daughter, Fernando had spent so much money on a meaningless house.
The more Ella thought about it, the angrier she became. She forcefully set down her utensils and walked out of the house.
Fernando was utterly confused.
Zoey, unable to eat another bite, had big teary eyes. She believed that she must have upset her mom by wanting to buy that little house.
"Dad, can you, um, return that little house tomorrow?" Zoey choked on her words, thinking that if they returned to the house, her mom wouldn't be angry.
"Zoey, eat your meal properly. Dad will go talk to Mom and maybe she's not angry about the little house." Fernando comforted her.
Zoey obediently nodded, choking back tears and pushing the food into her mouth. However, she felt that the food wasn't as tasty as before.
Outside the door, Ella stood gazing at the night sky, her eyes reddened, lost in thought.
"You shouldn't have gotten angry in front of Zoey." Fernando walked over to Ella, his tone carrying a hint of anger.
In Fernando's eyes, Zoey was the most well-behaved child in the whole world, especially considering that today she hadn't done anything wrong at all.
"The doctor said Zoey has three days left, and two days have already passed. Today, I spent the entire day running around, borrowing money for another day, but..." Ella choked up, feeling utterly useless.
"If I can't come up with the money for the surgery tomorrow, Zoey, Zoey..." Ella couldn't hold back any longer, she crouched on the ground, covering her face, crying in pain.
Ella had never considered asking Fernando for money, but at this point, she didn't want to hide it anymore. After all, Fernando was Zoey's father and had the right to know the severity of the situation.
Fernando finally realized. On the day he administered the injection to save their daughter, Ella was still unconscious and unaware that their daughter had already been cured.
Fernando felt a wave of self-blame and bent down to lift Ella, embracing her in his arms.
Due to his negligence, Ella had been carrying an immense burden these past few days.
"Don't worry, Ella. Zoey's illness has already been cured," Fernando whispered into Ella's ear.
