"What's wrong with you, Miss Gu? Haven't I made myself clear enough? Even if you like the clothes in our store, it's useless. If you can't afford them, you better leave now to spare yourself the embarrassment," Violet sneered as Ella returned.
Ella took a deep breath, pointed to one of the dresses, and said, "This one, wrap it up for me." Afterward, she handed over the bank card.
This simple act took all her courage. If there was money in the bank card Fernando gave her, she could salvage a bit of dignity. If not, she would face even more ridicule.
Violet took the bank card, examined it, and mocked, "Miss Gu, have you gone mad from poverty? I've been a salesperson for many years, and I've seen all kinds of bank cards. Is this an event card something you found in a snack package promotion?"
In her eyes, Ella must had gone crazy after being expelled from home, using such a card to make a purchase.
She thought, "Alright, if you're not afraid of embarrassment, I'll make sure you're thoroughly embarrassed today."
Violet swiped the card on the POS machine.
But unexpectedly, it displayed "Insufficient Authorization" instead of the normal response.
Violet was puzzled; even if it wasn't a valid bank card, it should show invalid. What did "Insufficient Authorization" mean?
Refusing to give up, Violet hurriedly took the card towards the nearby service center, the largest in the entire mall.
She thought to herself, "If you, Ella, insist on embarrassing yourself, I'll help you achieve that today."
After a few steps, she bumped into someone. Looking up, it was Dominic Feng, the mall manager.
"Ah, sorry, Mr. Feng." Violet hurriedly apologized, knowing that although Dominic wasn't her boss, he managed the entire mall. Offending him would affect her boss as well.
"Violet, you've always been steady. Why are you so agitated today?" Dominic looked furious.
Dominic knew Violet well as she had been working in the mall for many years.
"Ah, sorry, sorry. There's a problem with the POS machine on my end. I want to go to the service center with this card. Sorry, Mr. Feng." Violet kept apologizing, afraid of any blame.
"The service center is so close to your store. Why are you in such a hurry?" Dominic said, casting a casual glance at the card in Violet's hand.
Just that one look nearly made him fall over.
"Violet! Where did you get this card?" Dominic, shocked or scared, widened his eyes, staring at the card, his voice trembling.
"Ah?"
Violet was bewildered by Dominic's reaction, nodding nervously, "Yes, it was given to me by a customer in my store."
"Quick! Take me there!" Dominic didn't waste a moment, grabbing Violet and heading toward the store.
Violet was dragged along by Dominic, feeling her entire arm going numb.
She couldn't understand why Mr. Feng seemed to be acting so unusually today.
"Hello, miss. May I ask if this card belongs to you?" Dominic's hands trembled, and his eyes were filled with intense eagerness.
Others might not recognize this bank card, but as the manager of SKN Mall, he certainly did.
It was a Black Gold Dragon Card exclusively crafted by Morgan Prosperity in Rui Country for an individual.
This card had been a focal point during his training at the headquarters last year, emphasized by the lecturing professor.
With no credit limit and no repayment date, this card alone bestowed unparalleled authority.
Moreover, owning this card made one a super VIP of the Morgan Prosperity Group, enjoying complimentary expenses across all industries under its umbrella.
At the time of the introduction, Dominic didn't take it seriously. Those attending the training were the most prominent elites in domestic shopping malls, and they all thought the professor was confused. How could there be such an esteemed bank card in the world?
With such immense power, the person possessing this card must be a terrifying figure.
Yet, at this very moment, the Black Gold Dragon Card was genuinely in his hands.
"What's wrong? Is there not enough money in this card?" Ella looked worried. If there wasn't enough money, she would face even more humiliation.
"No, no, no... There's more than enough money in this card, Miss," Dominic said, sweating profusely.
The issue wasn't insufficient funds; it was that there was no money needed in the card at all.
With no credit limit and no repayment date, who needed money on the card?
"Miss, I'm the manager of this mall. I'm Dominic Feng. You can call me Dominic. If you need anything, just let me know," Dominic said, bowing ninety degrees.
Violet and another female salesperson were left stunned. When had Mr. Feng treated a customer like this?
Even the young masters and misses from prominent families had never received such treatment from Mr. Feng.
"Mr.... Mr. Feng, what's wrong with you today? She's just an ordinary customer from my store. Oh no, not even an ordinary customer, she's abandoned by her family, too poor to afford a piece of clothing. Why treat such a person so politely?" Violet was perplexed, unable to understand.
"What did you say?!" Dominic glared at Violet, his face full of anger.
"I said she's a worthless nobody. Not to mention the clothes in my store, she can't afford anything in the entire mall. Mr. Feng, there's no need to be polite to such a person," Violet thought Dominic was angry after learning the customer's true identity and explained arrogantly.
"Smack!"
A crisp sound echoed as Violet covered her face, looking shocked.
"Mr.... Mr. Feng?" Violet was instantly dumbfounded.
She had worked in this mall for almost ten years. During this time, Dominic had only criticized the staff during meetings. Aside from that, he had never accused anyone in front of a customer, let alone resorted to physical violence.
Dominic was infuriated. He didn't care if this bank card belonged to the young lady in front of him or what her current status was.
Whoever used this card for consumption possessed supreme and unquestionable authority.
This card is so crucial that nobody would casually give it away. In other words, whoever holds this bank card, even if not its true owner, is at least someone extremely close to the owner.
These were individuals that Dominic dared not offend.
"Violet, you're fired!" Dominic said coldly.
Having offended someone so significant, if blame were to come down, not only her store but the entire mall could easily be shut down.
"Not only you, but your boss has made a bad choice in personnel. All the brands under your agency are delisted, and the store is closed!"
"What?! Mr. Feng!?"
Violet staggered, almost fainting. She could never have imagined that the punishment would be so severe.
Her boss's store closed, resulting in losses of at least hundreds of millions.
Being fired from SKN Mall meant she could never step into this line of work again. No other mall would accept her.
Who on earth was this Ella?
