Boom!
Justin was kicked into a corner, screaming in agony.
His two underlings quickly released Avery and rushed toward Maxwell, shouting loudly.
Maxwell sneered, throwing two punches and knocking them down, unable to get up again.
Then, he helped Abigail up, wrinkling his brow at the smell of alcohol.
Abigail was completely drunk, her eyes tightly closed, her body limp.
"Why are you only just arriving?" Avery complained, "Abigail is only doing this for the company's loan! Justin is intentionally causing trouble! We didn't expect him to be so shameless!"
Maxwell furrowed his brow and asked, "Who is Justin?"
"The CEO of Skyward Bank, the one you kicked out!"
"Hmm..." Maxwell walked up to Justin, grabbed his hair, and pulled him up. "What's the deal with the loan? Approve it for my wife right away."
"What?" Justin recovered, asking, "Who are you?"
"Never mind who I am. Will you approve the loan?"
"Bah! Let me tell you, if you mess with me, the entire Jerome family will be finished. Now, you kneel for me! Let Abigail support me for a month, or else..."
"Or else what?" Maxwell slammed his head hard against the table.
Bang!
Crash!
The table was overturned, dishes scattered all over, and Justin's head became a bloody mess.
"You..." Justin wanted to curse, but Maxwell grabbed his hair again and slammed his head hard against the wall.
A large bloodstain was left on the wall.
This time it was even harder, Justin's head buzzing. He finally got scared. This was his head, not a ball. A few more hits and it would crack.
"Stop hitting me! I'll approve it, I'll approve it, okay! I'll approve it when I go to work tomorrow!" Justin begged quickly, cursing inwardly. Do you think you can get away with this? When I recover, whether it's official or underground, I'll have people! I'll deal with you!
"That's settled then!" Maxwell threw Justin into the corner like garbage, then hugged Abigail and walked out.
Avery quickly followed. When they left the hotel, she couldn't help but curse.
"Maxwell! Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
"Do you know who Justin is related to?"
"Did you consider the consequences of your actions?"
"Do you think you can still get a loan from Skyward Bank?"
Maxwell couldn't be bothered by Avery's nagging and frowned. "Aren't you drinking?"
"Ah..." Avery was taken aback and instinctively replied, "I'm allergic to alcohol, and I have to drive Abigail home."
"Then go drive!"
"Oh..."
Avery didn't think much and turned around to drive, only realizing at the hotel entrance that Maxwell dared to order her.
Well, she just followed Maxwell's orders, which was outrageous!
Maxwell came so late that not only did they worry and fear, but also acted recklessly. She would scold him later!
However, Maxwell didn't give Avery a chance. He settled Abigail in her car and then left.
Maxwell had already checked Abigail; although she had drunk a lot, as long as she slept, there would be no major problems.
He planned to go see Xavier tonight.
Reviving the Xelooe Palace was a heavy responsibility for the sect, and he couldn't slack off.
Taking a taxi, after giving the address, Maxwell began to digest the information he got from Nora.
Suddenly, a bump woke him up from his reverie.
The car had somehow left the main road and entered a nearby grove.
"Suddenly got a flat tyre!" The driver said helplessly, stopping the car. "Sorry, I'll change the spare tyre. What bad luck! By the way, can you help me with the jack?"
Maxwell hummed in agreement and got out of the car.
As they went around to the back of the taxi, the driver reached for the spare tyre with his left hand and swiftly slashed towards Maxwell with his right hand.
Swish!
A flash of the blade cut through the night, aiming for Maxwell's neck.
"I knew you were up to something!"
Maxwell snorted coldly, stepping back half a step and staring at the driver. "Who are you?"
"Quick reaction!" The driver sneered. "Kid, you've got some guts for not running away."
Maxwell sneered, "You're not worthy of letting me run away. Why are you trying to kill me?"
"Humph, you're meddling too much!"
As they spoke, the driver pounced on Maxwell again, the dagger aiming for Maxwell's vital points.
Maxwell suddenly dodged, kicking out like lightning and hitting the driver's abdomen squarely.
Bang!
The driver flew backwards like a kite with a broken string. Then, he crashed into a tree, slowly sliding down with blood oozing from his mouth and nose.
With just one kick, this assassin disguised as a driver had already suffered severe injuries.
Maxwell walked up to him, coldly saying, "Speak, who sent you? And why did you try to kill me?"
The assassin looked at Maxwell with his eyes full of resentment. Then, he suddenly stiffened, motionless.
"Damn!" Maxwell bent down to take a look, he had poisoned himself. And the poison was hidden between his teeth.
This sudden assassination... This inexplicable assassin...
Maxwell searched the assassin's body all over but found no valuable clues.
The assassin's words, "You're meddling too much," also puzzled him.
He had only been in Delington for a few days. What kind of business did he have to meddle in?
Maxwell thought and thought, but couldn't figure out what major thing he had done to attract the revenge of assassins.
Suddenly, his face sank. Could it be... because of the Xelooe Palace?
His intention to revive the Xelooe Palace would undoubtedly seriously harm the interests of those splintered factions.
He preferred to lead a modest life than to aspire to greatness but ended up insignificant.
The person with the biggest suspicion... was Xavier!
Xavier probably already knew that Maxwell was coming to see him.
If he had a change of heart and didn't want to submit...
Killing Maxwell seemed like a good solution!
"All... This seems to make sense..." Maxwell organized his thoughts, looking at the vast night sky. "The situation in Delington is quite a mess!"
...
Although Maxwell felt that Xavier was the most suspicious, Xavier was recommended by Nora, so he felt that he should investigate thoroughly before coming to a conclusion. Therefore, he wanted to go to Xavier's home. He was willing to take on any challenge, no matter how daunting it might seem.
The Larson family's mansion was only around six kilometers away from here, which was nothing for Maxwell. He tiptoed, his figure flying like the wind, towards Xavier's home.
A few hundred meters away from Xavier's mansion, Maxwell stopped his steps.
The air around the mansion was filled with murderous intent.
Was this because Xavier had strengthened his defenses after the assassination failed?
Maxwell thought for a moment and sneered.
"Since that's the case, let's confront each other face to face!"
He strode toward the gate of the Larson family's mansion.
Whoosh!
Before reaching the gate of the Larson family's mansion, dozens of tough men rushed out, blocking Maxwell's way, each holding a three-foot long knife, the sharp blade reflecting the moonlight, shining brightly.
Leading them were two graceful women.
Maxwell looked closely and couldn't help but marvel.
These two beauties were actually identical twins.
Wearing blue armor, they both had the same sexy figure outlined by the armor. Although both had captivating eyes, they were still extremely eye-catching scenery.
"Halt!" The woman in blue armor shouted coldly, "Who goes there? What business do you have sneaking around the Larson residence?"
Maxwell shouted loudly, "I'm here to see Xavier on urgent matters!"
"I knew you would come!" The woman in blue armor waved her hand and ordered, "Seize him! Dead or alive, it doesn't matter!"
