As Sean and his men arrived to deal with the scene, Murray escorted Freya to a nearby hospital.
Her injuries were not serious, but Murray wanted her to calm her mind.
Freya woke up quickly and briefly inquiring about the accident. Murray informed her that it was entirely his fault, and the car had been sent for repairs under insurance, with an additional payment of fifty thousand for medical expenses.
Freya didn't doubt him, and after resting for a while to confirm she was fine, she insisted on leaving the hospital. She also asked Murray not to inform her parents about the accident.
She didn't want Chole and the others to worry, especially with two accidents in half a month.
"Your luck has been so bad recently. Not only does the company have problems, but you also keep getting into accidents. Don't you suspect it's because of the amulet?"
Murray seized the opportunity to resolve the issue of the amulet. "I think it would be better for you to get rid of it."
On the way there, he had thought about using the car accident to break the amulet, but he ultimately dismissed the idea as too violent.
The amulet was very hard, and since Freya's chest was fine, how could the amulet break? It would easily make her suspect him of tampering with it.
However, even if she believed that the amulet was broken, and she didn't have any resistance to it, she might just get another amulet.
If she got a more powerful and fierce amulet, it would be even worse.
After weighing the options, Murray decided not to touch it. Instead, he drew a few symbols to dispel the negative energy, so that Freya wouldn't be too unlucky.
"Here you go again."
Freya became irritated every time Murray mentioned the amulet. "It's clear that the other person was driving carelessly. What does it have to do with my amulet?"
"If it's really that evil, why is it that I drive to work every day and only had two accidents?"
"If you can blame the amulet for this, then I can also suspect that you're making me unlucky. After all, both accidents happened when you were in my car."
She gave Murray a disdainful look. She picked up her handbag and said, "Stop talking nonsense, let's go home."
With his suspicions all day long, she was worried that Murray was losing his mind.
Murray anticipated this outcome. He smiled helplessly and followed her home.
As soon as he arrived at the elevator, a text message flooded into his phone. It was from Sean, saying that he had cleaned up the scene.
Zoe and Hamiltion were also recaptured.
Sean assured Murray that he would not be harmed again.
Murray narrowed his eyes slightly and deleted the message without showing any emotion.
The trouble with Zoe was resolved.
He didn't want to get his hands dirty, but since the Zoe and Hamiltion not only wanted to kill him but also threatened Freya's family, he had no choice but to send them on their way.
He and Freya had returned to the villa, only to find several guests waiting for them.
Murray took a closer look and saw that it was Linda and her daughter, Linton Yanny.
Quinn and Chole were sitting opposite them, with solemn and helpless expressions.
Linda was Chole's cousin. She was a state-owned enterprise employee, and had a relatively good relationship with Chole. They would visit each other during festivals and special occasions.
However, Linda always came to the Thrussell family empty-handed. She always brought along her son and daughter, claiming to be "eating the rich."
Today, however, she had brought a gift box, which was quite unusual.
The box was placed on the coffee table, it was rough in appearance and tied with a red string, looking like some kind of handicraft.
"Hello Aunt Linda, Yanny," greeted Murray and Freya politely.
Linda only nodded lightly to Freya, not even looking at Murray. Murray was simply not in her eyes.
She frowned and spoke to Chole, "Chole, I really have no other choice. Otherwise, I wouldn't have come uninvited."
"Yannt graduated with a degree in archaeology but has been unable to find a job. The current units and companies are really unreasonable."
"I told them that my daughter is a city child, she is pampered since childhood and can't do heavy work. She also has high material requirements."
"I asked them to arrange an easy and light job for her, with an internship salary of around 2,500 dollars, but they all refused."
"They either wanted to send her to the wilderness or offered a salary of 700 dollars, it's no different from the rural kids who just graduated."
"Isn't this belittling her status?"
Linda was dressed in red, she beat her chest and stamped her feet. Her former shrewdness turning into anger and frustration.
Yanny was playing with her mobile phone without raising her eyes, as if it had nothing to do with her.
Chole whispered and was trying to calm her down, "Sister, I understand how you feel. How about this, let her work at my clinic for a few months to gain some experience?"
"Spring Breeze Clinic?"
Yanny looked disgusted. "Auntie, forget about your clinic."
"The patients there are all from the lower class, either truck drivers or street vendors, and there are even brawlers."
"It's completely low-class."
"Besides, I study archaeology. I was aiming for an elegant and noble path. Your clinic is like a market, and I have to serve patients."
She sneered, "I won't go even if you give me more than 10,000 dollars."
Linda chimed in, "Exactly, if she goes there, she won't learn anything and will only lower her standards."
Chole's face changed slightly, but she still forced a smile, "Since she doesn't like the clinic, how do you want us to help, sister?"
She looked down on Murray in every way, but she was still open-hearted with her own relatives.
"I've thought about it. Those small units look down on us. We won't go there."
Linda's eyes lit up, "I've thought about it, I'm going to let her go to Trove Group."
"I watched the news. Trove Group has discovered another jade mine overseas. The business is booming. It will definitely be good for her to go in."
She straightforwardly laid out her plan, "I'm not asking for her to become very rich. A yearly salary of 250,000 dollars will do."
"The idea of going to Trove Group is good, but it has very high professional requirements."
Quinn frowned and said, "It's even harder to get into Trove Group than to pass the civil service exam."
"The people Trove Group hires are either experienced appraisers or exceptionally talented individuals."
Implied in his words was the extremely low probability of Yanny getting in.
"I know it's difficult to get in. That's why we've come to you."
Linda grinned, "Chole, you've run the clinic for many years, with numerous medical resources. Quinn, you're a well-known antique expert with connections to many wealthy families."
"Surely you have a good relationship with Trove Group. If you put in a good word for us, wouldn't it be easy for Yannt to get into Trove Group?"
Linda's smile faded slightly, "Unless you don't want to help, or you're worried about spending money and owing favors..." Quinn and Chole looked embarrassed. It wasn't that they didn't want to help, but that this favor was beyond their abilities.
Joyce earned tens of billions in a year, while the entire Thrussell family earned only a few million. The gap between them was huge.
They admitted to knowing Joyce, but their relationship was only superficial. How could they have the ability to pull strings?
Even if they could convey a message, it would be insignificant.
Murray heard Joyce's name when he was about to go upstairs, he hesitated for a moment, "Mom, what's going on?"
"Is it about Trove Group?"
Already under immense pressure from Linda's coercion, Chole immediately became impatient and scolded, "Why are you asking? You can't help anyway."
She waved her hand to drive him away, "Go and cook. They will have dinner at our place later."
Murray calmly spoke, "I heard you talking about Trove Group just now. I have some connection with Mr. Hudson. Maybe I can help..." If he hadn't seen the heavy atmosphere and was worried about affecting Freya's mood, he wouldn't bother to deal with them.
"You can help?"
"What help can you offer?"
Linda roared at Murray, "At least the manager of Trove Group can solve this. Do you know him?"
