"Alexander, do you know someone named Andrew Yang?" Left Hand suddenly asked, just as Alexander Xu relaxed.
That question immediately filled Alexander with a bad premonition. He quickly asked, "Did the Li Family send someone after him?"
Left Hand nodded, saying, "Before I came here, I heard them planning to kill someone named Andrew Yang..."
Alarmed, Alexander rushed to Hannah Lin's room, knocking loudly on the door.
A groggy Hannah, awakened from her sleep, glanced at her daughter sleeping beside her, grabbed a robe from the bedside, and opened the door. Seeing Alexander at the doorway, she yawned and asked, "Alexander, is something wrong?"
Indeed, something was terribly wrong. Alexander felt a heat in his nostrils, the sight before him unexpectedly enticing. Hannah, dressed in a nightgown with a robe loosely draped over, unintentionally revealed a captivating charm, coupled with her slightly disheveled hair and languid expression.
Noticing Alexander's stunned gaze, Hannah quickly covered herself and blushed, glaring at him.
Alexander, realizing his lapse, steadied himself and urgently said, "Call my brother-in-law quickly. I suspect something has happened to him..."
"Are you saying the Li Family is going to harm him?" Hannah exclaimed in shock.
Now there was no time to pay attention to Alexander's fiery gaze just now. She hurriedly entered the room and picked up the phone on the bedside and started to call Andrew's mobile phone.
Alexander's knock on the door also alerted William Xu and his wife. They rushed over with their coats on. Looking at Alexander standing at the door of Hannah's bedroom, they hurriedly walked over, " Alexander, what's going on? It's in the middle of the night. you……"
Alexander said nothing and pointed at Hannah, who was dialing the phone anxiously.
There was only a beeping sound on the phone, but no one answered. Hannah Yang became even more panicked. She hung up the phone and dialed the landline again. Half a minute passed, but still no one answered.
Tears began to fall from Hannah's eyes, her hand tightly covering her mouth to stifle her sobs.
Seeing her expression, William and Grace understood something terrible had happened to Andrew. Their questioning looks were met with a solemn nod from Alexander.
Tears filled the eyes of the elderly couple.
As Hannah tried to redial Andrew's number, her phone rang, displaying his name.
She answered with a hint of relief but was greeted by a stranger's voice, "Hello, are you Mrs. Yang, Officer Yang's wife?"
"Yes, I am. Who are you, and where is Andrew?" Hannah whispered, not wanting to wake her sleeping daughter.
"Mrs. Yang, Officer Yang has been in a car accident. We've taken him to the city hospital. Don't worry…"
Hannah couldn't comprehend the rest. Her world turned chaotic, and her phone clattered to the floor. Her knees buckled, and she collapsed onto the carpet.
Alexander rushed to her side, supporting her, "Sister, don't cry now. Let's talk outside, don't wake Evelyn…"
Hannah nodded, and with Alexander's support, slowly made her way out of the room.
"Your hand…" Hannah murmured, her face flushed with embarrassment and tears.
Alexander realized his hand was inadvertently on her chest. Hearing her words, he quickly moved it away, internally cursing himself for the indecency. William and Grace, full of compassion and concern, gently closed Evelyn's door. They worried about the young girl's future if anything happened to Andrew.
Downstairs, Hannah couldn't hold back her sorrow any longer and wept loudly on the sofa.
"Hannah, what exactly happened to Andrew?" Grace asked, holding her and gently stroking her back.
"Andrew... he had an accident…" Hannah cried inconsolably.
"Don't panic yet, it might just be an accident," William tried to console her, though even he didn't believe his words. Andrew was always cautious and had never been in an accident before. The timing was too suspicious, likely a deliberate act of malice.
Combined with the arrest of Sofia Li some time ago, any fool can guess who the murderer is!
Amidst the chaos, Alexander remained composed. He urged Hannah to change clothes so they could head to the hospital and asked his parents to take care of Evelyn, keeping her unaware of the situation.
Watching Hannah's breakdown, Alexander felt a sharp pain in his heart and clenched his fists, vowing revenge on the Li Family if Andrew died.
Hannah nodded at Alexander's words and, with Grace's help, stumbled into her room to change clothes. She then hurried downstairs, where Alexander had already started the car.
"Left Hand, I leave this place to you!" Alexander shouted into the empty courtyard as he sped away.
William and Grace were stunned, not knowing what Alexander meant by this sentence, yet his words were acknowledged by the hidden Left Hand.
While driving, Alexander called Brandon Li, his voice filled with icy fury, "Everyone is on standby! And that gift my friend gave me, don't bury it yet!”
He was furious, ready to confront the Li Family himself if necessary. The world needed someone to uphold justice in the darkness.
"Understood!" Brandon responded, sensing Alexander's rage. He had never seen Alexander this angry, not even when Evelyn was kidnapped.
After hanging up, Brandon sighed, wondering who would face Alexander's wrath next.
"Alexander, what are you going to do? Please, don't be rash!" Hannah, understanding Alexander's intentions, was both touched and worried. She feared for Alexander's safety.
"Don't worry, I know what to do," Alexander replied, previously planning to take action against the Li Family later, but now realizing he couldn't wait any longer. They were like mad dogs, unpredictable and dangerous.
The only way to deal with a mad dog was to put it down.
As they arrived at the city hospital with the sky beginning to brighten, Alexander supported a distraught Hannah, who rushed into the hospital. Approaching the reception desk, she gently woke up a nurse who had dozed off and asked, "How is Officer Yang, who was brought in from a car accident?"
Perhaps it was Alexander's stern tone or the irritation of being woken from a deep sleep that upset the nurse. She woke up with a disgruntled expression and retorted rudely, "Why are you asking? Can't you see I was sleeping? Will someone die if you wait a bit?"
Normally, Alexander might have ignored such a response, but at that moment, his anger was barely contained. The nurse's insolence was like fuel to the fire of his rage.
"Slap...Slap"
Two crisp slaps echoed as Alexander Xu struck the young nurse across the face, his eyes blazing with fury. He grabbed her neck, startling her with his cold voice, "Are you awake now? I'll ask again, how is Officer Yang, who was brought in from a car accident?"
The nurse was completely stunned by Alexander's slaps, terrified by the fierce look in his eyes. She was too frightened to speak or even cry, her pale face marked with the imprints of his slaps, turning her pretty features into a picture of horror.
"Well done!" The commotion attracted attention, and several family members of other patients applauded.
They had grown tired of the nurse's arrogant demeanor. They had come to the hospital for care, not to be treated with disdain by a nurse.
"Alexander, please, ask properly, don't resort to violence..." Hannah Lin regained her composure and hastily pulled Alexander's hand away from the nurse's neck, fearing the worst if he didn't control his strength.
Under Hannah's urging, Alexander gradually released the nurse's neck and repeated his question for the third time, "What's the current condition of Officer Yang, who was brought in from a car accident?"
This was the third time he had asked this question! He was in no mood to chat with a little girl here.
This time, the nurse, shaken from her fright, tearfully but quietly responded, "I'll check right now..." She feared crying out loud in front of the intimidating man.
Half a minute later, the nurse, with her head bowed and voice weak, reported, "Officer Yang is severely injured and is currently in the operating room one undergoing emergency surgery..."
Hearing this, Hannah's briefly halted tears flowed anew. Alexander quickly escorted her to the operating room, leaving the nurse with a resentful gaze.
Outside operating room one, several police officers were present, including the one who had taken Alexander for a police statement previously.
Some officers tried to comfort Hannah, while others shed silent tears. Hannah was unresponsive to their attempts, fixated on the shiny hospital floor, her tears unceasing, deeply distressing Alexander.
At 6,53 AM, the light in the operating room finally came on. Hannah stood up abruptly and rushed to the doctor, frantically asking, "Doctor, how is he...?"
"I'm sorry, we've done everything we could..." The doctor's response implied the worst.
