After Olivia left, a smile crept onto Hannah's lips. It was the perfect opportunity to invite Chloe to visit and share her plan of matchmaking for Alexander to Chloe. Putting some pressure on Chloe to prevent her from being so uptight all day long!
Observing Chloe's demeanor this morning, it was apparent she harbored some feelings for Alexander, hindered only by her pride. Since she wouldn't admit it, Hannah decided to stoke the flames a bit.
A rival's presence often makes a woman cast aside her pride, right?
Alexander, that rascal, would probably fancy someone like Victoria Qin.
Recalling how Alexander had looked at her with such fiery intensity that night, Hannah felt her cheeks warm. Given his flirtatious nature, the fact that he hadn't sought out women since leaving the hospital probably meant he was desperately holding back. His recent glances at her seemed different, more intense.
Indeed, it was time to find him a good woman, lest he kept wandering with his eyes...
Having dealt with important documents, Hannah stretched languidly, her graceful figure undeniable. She walked to the changing room and, looking in the mirror, saw no difference from before Andrew's accident.
If not for Alexander's support, she might still be struggling. Her once troublesome brother had grown up, now a pillar of strength for her.
He was no longer the frivolous young master he used to be. Letting bygones be bygones, she hoped he'd find a good woman and a perfect family.
Upon Hannah's arrival at the venue, the welcoming ceremony was nearing its end.
Chloe spotted the fashionably late Hannah and quickly escorted her to meet a young girl in her twenties, saying, "Miss Qin, this is Ms. Hannah Lin, the Vice President of Prosperous World Group!"
Their eyes met, and both were visibly impressed.
Miss Qin, in a long white dress, had a complexion as pure as her attire. Her shoulder-length black hair contrasted beautifully with the dress, creating a harmonious look. Perhaps due to the champagne at the event, her cheeks were a rosy, peach-like hue, enhancing her adorable appearance.
Hannah regarded herself and Chloe as great beauties, but the allure of this young girl was something she had never encountered before.
It wasn't that the girl was more beautiful, but rather her eyes! Hannah struggled to find words to describe them – clear, pure, sparkling. No words seemed adequate to capture the pristine quality of those eyes. The girl stood there, resembling a princess straight out of a fairy tale.
"Miss Qin, welcome to Prosperous World Group Headquarters!" Hannah extended her hand for a handshake, but Miss Qin, beaming, grabbed her arm instead. "Wow, Ms. Lin, you're so beautiful..."
As the young girl spoke, her eyes darted between Hannah and Chloe's impressive figures, then glanced at her own, a look of envy crossing her face. Every woman desires a stunning figure, but Victoria Qin was of a delicate and petite build. Although her figure was also commendable, it couldn't compare to the more voluptuous Hannah and Chloe.
As the young girl admired Hannah and Chloe's figures with a hint of envy, Hannah realized she was before a girl untouched by worldly matters.
No wonder her eyes were so clear, so distant from scandal. Even if there were rumors, who would believe them? This girl's heart was as pure as her gaze.
"You're very beautiful too, Miss Qin. One of the prettiest girls I've ever seen," Hannah replied gently, looking at her as one would a younger sister.
"Really?" Miss Qin asked, thrilled.
Women do love compliments, even those as unworldly as Miss Qin.
"Absolutely!" Hannah smiled. "Is your agent here? We should all sit down for a chat in a quiet place."
Hannah was aware that many matters required discussions with a celebrity's agent rather than the celebrity themselves. Moreover, considering the girl's naive demeanor, she likely knew little about these affairs. If negotiations were held directly with her, she might end up being exploited without even realizing it.
Chloe explained with a smile, "Miss Qin's agent is her mother, who handles all her affairs!"
That made sense to Hannah. Such a protective agent was probably why Miss Qin remained so untainted in the chaotic entertainment industry, where most agents viewed their clients merely as money-making tools.
"Mommy went to the restroom; she should be here soon!"
As Victoria Qin spoke, a beautifully maintained woman, accompanied by two bodyguards, approached. She and Victoria looked more like sisters than mother and daughter.
Victoria introduced her mother, "Mommy, this is Ms. Lin, my new friend!"
"Nice to meet you, Ms. Lin. I'm Emily Wen, Victoria's mother," Emily greeted, shaking hands with Hannah.
The four stunning women created a captivating scene, drawing many admiring glances.
Initially, Hannah intended to play matchmaker for her cousin and Victoria, but upon meeting the dignified Emily, she abandoned the idea. With Emily's protective nature, she surely wouldn't let her daughter near her scandal-ridden cousin.
"Auntie, let's find a quiet place to sit and talk. I'll show you around Prosperous World Group," Hannah offered again.
Calling a woman who appeared to be about her age 'Auntie' felt somewhat awkward for Hannah.
"Yes, that sounds good," Emily nodded, unbothered by the term 'Auntie'. She turned to her bodyguards and instructed, "We're going for a walk with these two ladies. You don't need to follow us. Find a place to rest for a while."
It was evident that Emily treated her bodyguards kindly. Her tone lacked any hint of command, rather, she spoke to them as one would to family members.
As Hannah and Chloe guided them through the Prosperous World Group's headquarters, Chloe played the role of the guide, focusing on the fashion industry linked to Victoria's endorsement.
Even a cursory tour took nearly an hour – the Prosperous World Group was vast. A thorough visit would require a full day.
Finally, they settled in a pavilion amidst the greenery. It was time for serious discussions.
Hannah, resuming her assertive businesswoman demeanor, said, "Actually, I wanted to discuss something with you, Auntie. Given Victoria's current fame, the remuneration in our initial agreement seems unfair. I propose doubling the contract value as a supplementary agreement, to express our sincerity."
This idea sprung from reviewing the recent financial reports. Sales in the fashion division had risen nearly 30% thanks to Victoria's endorsement. She hoped to compensate Victoria accordingly, fostering a long-term collaboration.
Victoria's untouched reputation amid the recent scandals had elevated her to one of the nation's most beloved young actresses.
In order to continue collaborating with Victoria after the endorsement contract expires, doubling the current price is no issue. After all, the earnings of Prosperous World Group far exceed this amount.
"Oh? That doesn't seem right," Victoria protested, waving her hands. "We're not short of money..."
Hannah and Chloe exchanged surprised glances. It was rare to see someone refuse more money.
Emily also declined gracefully, "Your kindness is appreciated, but we'll stick to the agreed terms."
Chloe earnestly added, "Auntie, we insist. Even with the increased offer, it's still a bargain for us."
She hadn't yet mentioned that signing Victoria had saved Prosperous World from substantial losses. While the main credit went to Hannah's decision, it was undeniable that without Victoria as an option, Prosperous World might have faced billions in losses by now.
Still, Emily shook her head, smiling, "There's really no need for that. As Victoria said, we aren't short of money. Her father has always been against her singing career, but she's loved singing since she was young and always dreamt of becoming a big star, so we've let her pursue her dreams."
At this point, Emily looked at Victoria with an affectionate gaze, her face glowing with maternal love.
Hannah and Chloe, both astute, could tell from Emily's demeanor and elegant poise that she and her daughter came from a well-off background. They might not be as wealthy as the Xu family, but they certainly were affluent.
"Well, if you insist, we can't force the money on you!" Hannah said jokingly, "We'll just keep this money aside for you, and you can take it whenever you need."
