Jack's words stunned everyone, leaving them momentarily speechless.
Everyone knew that Master Hudson never showed such excitement even when he saw the copybook, what was going on now?
Benjamin instinctively asked, "Master Hudson, what is 'Jia Xuan'?"
Jack replied, "Jia Xuan is a type of Xuan paper, also known as Double Xuan. After being worked by a skilled artisan, this paper can create two identical paintings from one."
With that, Jack turned to Jonathan, "Young man, may I examine these two calligraphies?"
Jonathan then handed the two calligraphies to Jack, who received them solemnly and took out a magnifying glass from his pocket for a closer inspection.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still. Everyone held their breath, daring not to make a sound.
Andrew's eyes widened, for some reason, he suddenly had a bad premonition...
After a full minute, Jack put away his magnifying glass and sighed, "I never thought I'd live to see the real Yellow Court Classic."
Whoosh!
The surrounding crowd gasped in disbelief, their eyes wide open and faces full of incredulity.
Could this piece of calligraphy be real? Was it really Xizhi Wang 's work?
"Master Hudson, what... what's going on?" Andrew quickly asked.
He couldn't believe that Jonathan had such luck to acquire a genuine piece from Xizhi Wang!
Jack said, "We've all been fooled. An antique expert merged two pieces into one. The surface layer is a counterfeit, but the real one is hidden beneath. The young friend's sharp eyes saw through this trick at a glance."
Jonathan thought to himself, his eyes weren't sharp at all. He didn't even know what Jia Xuan was. He only bought this piece because he felt it was a spiritual object. But seeing Jack's admiring gaze and Andrew's flabbergasted expression, Jonathan felt quite pleased.
"No big deal, how could a small trick like this escape my eyes."
"So... my brother's piece is genuine?" Benjamin asked cautiously.
Jack nodded, "It's definitely a genuine piece by Xizhi Wang. If the young friend is willing to sell it, I'm willing to pay thirty million for this Yellow Court Classic!"
Thirty million!
Everyone was stunned at this amount!
Holy shit, this guy bought a run-down calligraphy piece for three thousand and is now selling it for thirty million! The contrast is too big!
Compared to Xizhi Wang 's genuine piece, Andrew's Copier Inkstone was nothing!
"Hahaha! My brother is awesome! He said this piece was valuable, and it is! Who was the bastard who said my brother bought a piece of junk? Speak up now! You thought you were invincible with your broken inkstone, but you're still crushed by my brother!"
Benjamin burst into laughter, pouring sarcasm on Andrew. He was just short of flipping him off.
Evelyn also covered her small mouth in surprise, it's real!
Now, she began to see Jonathan in a new light. Not only was he an unparalleled healer, but he also knew antiques.
Luna couldn't believe it. He was just a country bumpkin, how could he have identified that this was Xizhi Wang 's genuine piece? It must be an illusion!
"It's impossible! Absolutely impossible, how could this be a genuine piece? Master Hudson, did you make a mistake?"
Andrew asked hastily, he also couldn't believe that Jonathan could be so lucky.
Jack replied, "If I am wrong, I will retire from the antique world. This is definitely a genuine piece by Xizhi Wang!"
The surrounding people were taken aback. Jack actually said that. It seemed that this piece must be genuine.
Ignoring the surprised crowd, Jack turned to Jonathan, "Young friend, I'll buy this piece for thirty million, how about it?"
At this point, Jonathan was also stunned.
Holy shit, that's thirty million! He had never seen so much money in his life!
Thirty million, how many times could he eat at Goldkeep Hotel with that amount!
If this piece of calligraphy wasn't a spiritual object, he would have sold it immediately.
"I'll offer thirty-five million. How about selling this piece to me?"
Isabella stepped out of the crowd and said.
Ella was surprised and quickly asked, "Isabella, why do you want to buy it?"
Isabella whispered, "My master likes calligraphy and painting. I plan to give it to her when she returns."
"For her?" Ella knew that Isabella's master was a hermit, so she shouted at Jonathan, "Hey, we're offering thirty-five million, are you selling it?"
The surrounding people were numb. No one expected that this "counterfeit" would sell for such a high price.
The stall owner almost fainted in despair. Thinking of the treasure worth more than thirty million slipping through his hands, he wanted to bang his head against the wall!
Jonathan was delighted. See, I'm amazing. Just buying a little something, I can sell it for millions in a blink.
"Hey, speak up. Are you selling it or not? Don't you know our time is precious!"
Seeing Jonathan silent, Ella frowned.
Jonathan glanced at her, "Not selling. No matter how much you offer."
"You..." Ella frowned, "Are you crazy? We're offering thirty-five million and you're not selling!"
In her view, Jonathan dressed like a construction worker, thirty-five million was an astronomical figure to him. As soon as she spoke, he should hand over the calligraphy immediately.
"I said I'm not selling, so I'm not selling. Why so much nonsense!" Jonathan retorted.
"You!" Ella's eyes widened, this guy was too infuriating.
Isabella patted her shoulder, "Alright, Ella. If he doesn't want to sell, let it be. Let's go."
Ella glared at Jonathan fiercely, "Kid, I'll remember you. Don't let me run into you again!"
"I don't want to run into you either. What if you fall in love with me." Jonathan retorted.
"This kid is really something. That's thirty-five million! He actually doesn't want to sell. If it were me, I would have sold it long ago."
"Yeah, it seems we were all shortsighted. He's a real master!"
The crowd murmured.
Then, Jonathan turned to Andrew and Luna, "Don't forget the two million."
"You!" Andrew's face turned extremely ugly.
"What, do you want to go back on your word in front of so many people? But I can give you a chance, you don't have to pay, just call me 'Dad'." Jonathan said proudly.
"Jonathan, don't be so smug. You just got lucky this time and won. Remember, not everyone can be lucky all the time. Andrew is not someone a country bumpkin like you can compare to!" Luna rebuked.
Jonathan retorted, "I don't care about my luck. Either pay up, or call me 'Dad'!"
Andrew really wanted to teach Jonathan a lesson, but thinking about Jonathan's combat power, he could only swallow his anger, "Give me your card number..."
After paying, Andrew and Luna left in disgrace. Jonathan and the others also lost the mood to continue shopping.
"Earned two million in one shot, awesome! Brother, I'm treating today, let's have a feast!"
After leaving the cultural street, Jonathan suggested cheerfully.
Benjamin replied, "You're really something, bro. But this time I'm treating you. If it weren't for you, I would have been humiliated."
Evelyn looked at the two speechlessly. They had only known each other for a short time, but they were already calling each other brothers.
Just as Jonathan was about to speak, suddenly, a group of people blocked their way.
Among them, a tall man exuding a murderous aura stared at them intently.
"You are Jonathan, right?"
