Andrew's loud voice immediately attracted everyone's attention.
Jonathan turned around, raised an eyebrow, and sneered, "Oh, it's you two again, huh?"
"Country bumpkin! What did you just say?" Andrew snapped angrily.
"Did I stutter? You're both still bitches, right?" Jonathan said with disdain.
Gasps echoed among the crowd.
"Isn't that David, the head of the Tang family, and his granddaughter, Abigail? They're here too?"
"And Andrew as well? What's going on?"
"Did that guy just call the Young Master of the Liu Family and Miss Tang 'bitches'? He's got guts; he's not afraid of retaliation!"
The onlookers began whispering among themselves, their eyes darting between Jonathan and the Tang Family.
Abigail frowned and asked coldly, "Jonathan, what are you doing here?"
"What I'm doing is none of your business," Jonathan replied. "But it looks like you're finally going to see a doctor, huh?"
It was clear to Jonathan that David's illness was worsening. In his mind, there was no way anyone else could cure him.
"Hmph, I'm just here for a routine checkup. I'm perfectly healthy, so stop spreading lies," David snorted dismissively.
Jonathan smiled smugly. "Keep telling yourself that, old man. Let's see if you're still saying that in a few days. But don't come running to me for help when you realize the truth."
"There are plenty of famous doctors in the world. Do you think you're the only one who can help my grandfather? We've already arranged for Dr. Wu's master to treat him, and he'll definitely succeed!" Andrew shot back.
Abigail's expression grew even colder as she added, "Jonathan, don't think you can threaten my family with your so-called medical skills. You may be good, but you're no match for Dr. Wu's master. Once my grandfather recovers, we'll make you regret ever crossing us!"
Jonathan chuckled, inwardly amused. "Dr. Wu's master? That's me!"
Crossing his arms, he watched Abigail and Andrew with an amused look. In his eyes, they were nothing more than a bunch of clowns.
Meanwhile, Samuel, sensing the tension, frowned and stepped in. "Is there some sort of misunderstanding here?"
"No misunderstanding!" Andrew snapped. "This guy's nothing but a country bumpkin from nowhere. We don't need to waste time on him. Now, where's your master?"
Samuel kept his calm demeanor. "My master is already here."
"What? Where?" Abigail asked excitedly, scanning the crowd for someone she assumed would be much older.
But to her shock, she saw Samuel walking straight toward Jonathan.
"Master, you're here," Samuel said respectfully, bowing to Jonathan.
Stunned silence fell over the crowd.
"What... How is that possible? How can this guy be Dr. Wu's master?"
"This can't be real! He's way too young!"
"I must be dreaming! This doesn't make sense!"
The disbelief rippled through the crowd as everyone processed the shocking revelation.
Andrew refused to accept it and exclaimed, "Dr. Wu, this has to be some mistake! This guy's a nobody from the countryside. How could he be your teacher?"
Samuel's expression remained serious as he replied, "I understand that there may have been some conflicts before, but let me make it clear: Jonathan is indeed my master."
Another round of gasps rippled through the crowd as people struggled to comprehend the truth.
Abigail clenched her fists, glaring at Jonathan. She couldn't believe it. How could this country bumpkin possibly be a master in medicine, even to someone like Dr. Wu?
David, too, was taken aback, his mind racing. "Could it be that I misjudged him all along?"
Jonathan looked at Samuel and raised an eyebrow. "Old man, what's going on?"
Hearing Jonathan call Samuel "old man" caused another wave of shock among the onlookers. No one ever dared to address Dr. Wu so casually.
Yet, instead of being offended, Samuel remained respectful. "Master, they asked me to treat this illness, but it's beyond my abilities. I had to ask for your help."
Jonathan glanced over at David and snorted. "I could treat the old man, but it'll come at a price."
Abigail and the others stared at Jonathan in disbelief.
David opened his eyes, surprised. "You'd really treat me?"
Jonathan nodded. "Sure. But you'll need to give me half of your property and apologize to me in public."
"Impossible!" Abigail immediately shouted.
Jonathan sneered. "Such a loving granddaughter, huh? Your grandfather hasn't even said anything, and you're already refusing on his behalf."
"Grandpa, I..." Abigail stammered, realizing her reaction had been impulsive.
David patted her hand but glared at Jonathan. "I'd rather die than apologize to you."
Jonathan shrugged. "Fine by me. Just don't come crawling back when it's too late."
Without another word, Jonathan turned away, leaving them in stunned silence.
Despite the belief that doctors should be compassionate, Jonathan had no intention of helping those who disrespected him.
David, Abigail, and Andrew, their faces dark with frustration, wheeled David away toward other doctors. They refused to believe Jonathan was the only one who could save him.
Samuel, sensing the tension, bowed slightly. "Master, I didn't realize they had a past with you..."
Jonathan waved it off. "Don't worry about it. They're insignificant. Now, show me your acupuncture skills. Let's see what you've got."
Samuel nodded and quickly set up a chair for Jonathan to observe. He sat down and began treating patients.
Throughout the session, Jonathan offered sharp critiques.
"Wrong! The needle should go into the Zhongting Acupoint, not there!"
"Your hands are too shaky! Be precise and confident!"
"Why are you gripping the needle so tightly? Relax!"
After about half an hour, Jonathan reclined in his chair, casually drinking water while those watching looked on in awe. To them, Samuel Wu was a miracle worker, yet Jonathan scolded him like a beginner.
Despite the harsh criticism, Samuel was satisfied. He had learned valuable insights from Jonathan's feedback and was even more impressed by his master's profound knowledge.
As Samuel cleaned up his equipment, a voice from the crowd suddenly called out, "Dr. Wu, can you help my sister?"
