"Carver, I just heard that you bought the top configuration of the 718. Hurry up and go with me to cancel the order. That's your family's demolition compensation."
After waiting for about ten minutes, Hedy arrived. As soon as she entered, she urged Carver to cancel the car purchase order.
"Sister Hedy, the compensation for demolition hasn't come yet; it's my own money," Carver smiled.
Hedy was surprised, "Your money? Didn't Cornely say you have no money and told me not to despise you?"
Helpless about his sister revealing everything, Carver replied, "I've accumulated some savings during these five years of practicing medicine outside. It happens to be Cornely's birthday in a few days, so I bought a car for her. It's not from the demolition compensation."
Carver didn't seem to be lying, and Hedy finally relaxed, saying, "Then you can buy a lower-end 718; there's no need to buy the top configuration. I can make the exchange and refund the difference to you."
Carver said, "Thanks, Sister Hedy. But as long as Cornely likes it, the price doesn't matter!"
"You are such a good brother." Hedy, seeing Carver's firm attitude, stopped persuading. She suddenly thought of Carver's way of addressing her and said, "Cornely calling me Sister Hedy is fine, but you don't have to call me Sister Hedy too!"
"You're just a year older than me; can't I call you sister?" Carver smiled.
"No, call me Hedy."
Carver smiled helplessly, "Then I'll stick with calling you Hedy."
Frowning, Hedy said, "Why would you be afraid of misunderstandings? Am I ugly?"
Feeling the situation turning awkward, Carver quickly said, "Let's focus on the treatment first."
Glaring at Carver, Hedy closed the door and drew the curtains.
With the experience from the first treatment, the second time in front of Carver was not as awkward. This treatment was also quick, lasting only about ten minutes.
Blushing while putting on her clothes, Hedy said, "Let's have lunch together at noon."
"No, I have to go to Whitecloud City."
Once again, Carver's proactive invitation was rejected, making Hedy feel resentful. However, she couldn't show it too much, so she just said, "Okay, next time you're not allowed to refuse, or else I'll complain to Cornely and let her tell your parents."
Carver said, "Let's talk about it next time. I'm leaving!"
Following the routine, Carver opened the door and left, leaving Hedy feeling more disheartened. "Could he really not be interested in me?"
As Carver left, he encountered Nina and Colin again, who had just ordered a low-end 718.
Seeing Carver come out, Nina sneered, "Hey, cancel the order? I thought you'd wait until we left to cancel it."
For people with malicious intent, you either fight back or ignore them.
Carver couldn't fight Nina, so he chose to ignore her. He walked past her as if he hadn't heard anything.
But in Nina's eyes, Carver's silence meant guilt, and his smile became even more brilliant, "Don't be embarrassed; even a cousin like me can make fun of you. By the way, I'm getting engaged this Saturday. Remember to come with Uncle and Aunt."
But Carver still didn't respond and walked away.
Nina coldly laughed while holding Colin's arm, "Darling, let's go. We won't be able to pick up the car until the day after tomorrow."
Colin whispered, "Nina, I've bought you the car, and you've gained face. What about tonight?"
"Why rush? I'll give it to you after the engagement. I want the first time to be somewhat memorable."
"Okay, then I'll wait a few more days."
As soon as the two walked out of the store, Hedy came out of the office and announced in public, "Maria just closed a deal for the top configuration of the 718; she can officially start working from today."
Then she turned a cold eye to Maud, "Eyes low, belittling others. Pack up and settle your salary in the finance department. Don't come back tomorrow."
Thinking she could also close a deal and receive praise, Maud was dumbfounded. But after Hedy finished speaking, she went back to her office without giving her a chance to plead.
"Nina, was the person sitting in that Ferrari just now your cousin?"
Looking at the Ferrari roaring away, Colin frowned.
Nina followed his gaze, sneered, and said, "How is that possible? Even if he used all of his family's demolition compensation, he still couldn't afford that Ferrari. He also can't know someone who drives a Ferrari. You must be mistaken!"
Colin thought about it and found it reasonable. The license plate of that Ferrari wasn't from Jefpombert City either.
Changing the subject, he said, "By the way, my dad mentioned last night that my great-uncle will also attend the engagement on Saturday. You need to behave a bit; maybe my great-uncle will let you join the company."
“Ronnie's old manor will attend our engagement banquet?"
"Well, my great-grandfather hasn't been feeling well recently and wants to take advantage of our engagement banquet for good luck."
"Great! Darling, you're amazing!"
...
Noon, Whitecloud City.
Giselle's eyes were resentful, staring at Carver as if she were an abandoned woman. "Do you really treat me as a chauffeur?"
After driving for three hours from Jefpombert City, Carver had just arrived and asked her to find him if he needed the car.
As the granddaughter of the underground leader in the five provinces, one of the top ten beauties in the South Province, Giselle had never been treated like this by a man.
Carver glanced around the bustling streets of the provincial capital. "Your grandpa asked you to come here to listen to my orders. You should have this awareness. If you're not happy, you can go back. I don't want you to follow me; it's too dangerous!"
Innate charm, occasionally revealing a charming demeanor, always made him feel a bit restless.
If it weren't for the calming meditation techniques in the Book of the Primordial, Carver doubted that he would have already been unable to resist eating Giselle.
Giselle was not angry. Instead, she intentionally leaned on the car door, revealing an astonishing curve. "So, in your eyes, I'm a dangerous woman. It seems I still have some charm in your eyes; it's just that you have great self-control."
Her intentionally soft voice and the glimpse of her charm made Carver feel a bit heated again.
"Giselle, you're teasing me again. Please get out of the car," Carver said as he walked forward.
"I'll tell your grandpa that I'll come after I finish my business. Let him prepare the bragged-about wine. If it's not the same, I'll make sure he can't stand up for the rest of his life."
She laid herself across the car door, creating a stunning curve. "It turns out I'm a dangerous woman in your eyes. However, I still have charm in your eyes; it's just that you're more enduring."
That intentionally teasing voice and the faint exposure of her figure made Carver feel heated once again.
Hastily moving forward, he said, "Tell your grandpa that I'll come after I finish my business. Let him prepare the bragged-about wine. If it's not the same, I'll make sure he can't stand up for the rest of his life."
This made Giselle feel more interested in him.
Muttering with an open mouth, she said, "Stinky little brother, I will definitely eat you."
After parting ways with Giselle, Carver stood under a road sign for more than twenty minutes. Finally, he saw a custom version of a silver-gray Lamborghini. Sitting in the car was a cold and elegant beauty wearing black clothes and sunglasses.
However, as soon as the Lamborghini appeared, it attracted the attention of countless passersby.
The car finally stopped in front of Carver.
Margaret got out of the car, and her cold and elegant eyes, hidden behind sunglasses, scrutinized Carver. She had never seen Carver from start to finish when she came to seek medical treatment for her grandfather Cyril.
But not long ago, Carver sent her a message, asking her to come here to pick someone up.
Carver took a look at the stunning Margaret and then glanced at the clock on the side of the road sign. "It took 26 minutes from the message to your appearance. I waited six minutes longer."
Hearing this familiar voice, Margaret confirmed that the person she had to pick up was Carver. Shocked, she quickly bent over to apologize, "Dr. Larsen, the traffic was too congested during the lunchtime peak. Please forgive me."
Carver walked up, and Margaret quickly opened the car door.
"This time only, don't make it a habit."
"Yes, Dr. Larsen!"
Onlookers were amazed. What's going on? Who is this seemingly like a construction worker?
