"Sir, how may I assist you?" Tyler Luo was interspersed within the queue and it was his turn now.
"Uh, I've just arrived in Fenghuang City and am looking for a job," Tyler Luo said with a smile.
Isn't that obvious? Coming to a job center, if not for a job, then what? Looking for a girlfriend?
"Then please fill out this form first, and there's a fee of 100 yuan," the sweetly smiling service girl suggested, appearing quite charming.
Tyler Luo didn't say much and directly paid the fee, taking a form and sitting down to the side. The whole row was filled with seats, and like Tyler, everyone was busy filling out forms.
"Hmm, I really don't know which job to choose," Tyler Luo scratched his head, realizing for the first time that his previous skills were of no use here.
The form was quite standard, requiring basic details like name, phone number, and ID number. Then it asked for a personal introduction, work experience, and job preferences. Once completed, the job center would allocate jobs based on these requirements.
There were several job centers in Fenghuang City, all under unified management. Companies in Fenghuang City could only recruit through this channel, besides their official websites and media.
This was both an advantage and a disadvantage.
"I've finished filling it out, here," Tyler Luo approached the service desk and handed over his completed form.
Five minutes later, the printer churned out several A4 sheets, densely filled with various job positions.
"Sir, please take a look, and if you find something suitable, you can mark it. We'll help you process it shortly."
"Thanks."
Tyler Luo browsed through the many companies, feeling somewhat overwhelmed.
"Sitting in an office? No, that's not for me," Tyler Luo thought for a while before selecting a few positions. One was for a security guard at a real estate property, another for a company driver, and a third for a salesperson.
"After much thought, I'll choose the driver position," Tyler Luo finally decided, noting the company was a newly established small firm, not very large but just right for him.
The efficiency of the staff was impressive. In no time, an interview invitation was printed and handed to Tyler Luo: "Here, this is the interview invitation for the position. I've already informed them. They've invited you to visit. If they don't hire you, you can come back here and choose again until you're satisfied."
"Thank you."
Tyler Luo nodded, took the papers, and left the job center. It was almost evening. Checking the interview invitation's address, which was not far, Tyler originally planned to go the next day, but decided to check it out now since he had the time.
Strictly speaking, this was Tyler Luo's first job search and interview. Yet, he wasn't as nervous as others might be.
The company was located on the 9th floor of a commercial building near the downtown area, not too high. The building, like others in the area, had a uniform design with excellent lighting.
Tyler Luo registered at the entrance and went straight to the 9th floor.
"9015, this should be it," Tyler Luo found the company, "Baihua Technology."
It was already off-hours, but lights were still on in the office. "Excuse me, is anyone here?"
Tyler Luo called out but received no response.
"Is anyone there?"
He called out again, still no response. Just as he was about to step in, he heard the sound of high heels and a figure emerged.
"Hello, I'm here for the driver's interview."
"Oh? Are you Tyler Luo?"
The woman was surprised, sizing up Tyler. Of course, he was also observing her. At first glance, he was amazed by her.
The woman's mature and captivating charm instantly filled Tyler's mind. He had seen many women, but rarely one with such a unique allure.
Wearing high-heeled sandals, she walked with a clack on the floor. Men's gazes often uncontrollably wander when they see a woman. It's said that a man's first glance often falls on a woman's chest.
Though Tyler had strong self-control, he couldn't change the fact that he was a man. Like others, his gaze first landed on her chest.
The round contours amazed Tyler, and his gaze flickered. She was about 1.65 meters tall, not very tall but not short either, especially in heels, appearing close to 1.70 meters. She wore a formal outfit, a white mid-sleeve shirt, looking very capable. Her lower attire was a hip-hugging knee-length skirt, very tasteful.
At first glance, she exuded the aura of a powerful woman.
"I am Tyler Luo," he finally came back to his senses.
"Alright, I'm the boss here, Avery Xu. Please come in with me." She gave Tyler another look and turned, walking inside.
In that moment, Tyler felt a rush of charm.
Especially when she turned, her allure was striking.
Such a fascinating woman!
Tyler inwardly sighed, wondering which man was fortunate enough to have such a captivating beauty.
"You're younger than I expected," Avery Xu said with a smile, leading Tyler into the conference room. The company wasn't very large, seemingly with about seven or eight employees.
Tyler sat down at her invitation, feeling a strange sense of authority emanating from her, like a queen. But it was just a fleeting feeling; he didn't like being dominated by a woman.
"I've seen your resume sent from the center. Did you just leave the military?" Avery Xu rested her chin on her hands, gazing at Tyler.
"Yes, I've been discharged for a few months now. Just arrived in Fenghuang City and am looking for a stable job," Tyler nodded.
Avery Xu slightly nodded: "But we're hiring a driver. You'll often need to move around various districts in Fenghuang City, and you're not familiar with the area, are you?"
"With GPS maps, do I need to be very familiar? Plus, I believe just driving around once will give me a good sense of the roads," Tyler confidently replied.
"That's true, given your military background," she said, then paused, her voice trailing off, watching Tyler's reaction.
Tyler, however, remained calm, except for the initial look of admiration upon seeing her, he appeared quite standard.
As a businesswoman and not a naive girl, Avery Xu was experienced in understanding men's psychology.
Tyler didn't speak, waiting for her response.
Avery Xu asked several questions about driving and other aspects, especially about Tyler's lifestyle. These questions were indirect and could lead someone astray if not careful.
Tyler was an exception. He answered all her questions, and finally, Avery Xu said, "Well, it's past working hours now. If we decide to hire you within three days, I'll call you personally, how does that sound?"
"Sounds good."
Tyler nodded. He wasn't insistent on this job; if it didn't work out, he'd look for another. Working with such a mature beauty would be a pleasure, but no regrets if it didn't happen. Just a bit of a pity.
