The bar, a name filled with mystery. Countless indulgences, craziness, venting, and youthful naivety.
At this hour, the bar was at its liveliest, especially as the guests got hyped up with the music. As for the Godmother of the Underworld in Fenghuang City, Scarlett Qin, she seemed to be swallowed by the crowd, unnoticed by many. However, her two bodyguards were diligently on duty. Although such situations had occurred many times without harm, they never let their guard down.
But this time, for some unknown reason, they felt uneasy. As the crowd grew more excited, their vigilance heightened.
Suddenly, from the corner of their eyes, they spotted a man with a murderous aura, walking straight towards them, a sharp dagger visible in his hand.
The bodyguards exchanged glances; one stayed behind while the other confronted the man.
The lights dimly lit the scene, and the slightly inebriated crowd was oblivious to the commotion, except for one person in a private booth.
Tyler Luo was lounging in his chair, sipping his drink, thoroughly enjoying the scene. Despite the dim lighting, his vision was unimpaired. He even felt his eyesight had improved, possibly due to his x-ray vision.
He appreciated this change, planning to get a thorough medical check-up later.
For now, Tyler Luo had no intention of intervening. If the bodyguards of a reputed Godmother of the Underworld were incompetent, it would be surprising. But the assailant who dared to approach directly was certainly no ordinary man.
The fight in the dark enthralled Tyler Luo. The combatants were evenly matched, unable to overpower each other. However, the attacker was at a disadvantage, especially since this was Cheng Gang's territory.
Tyler Luo noticed at least three more people lurking in the shadows, ready to strike.
As expected, the second attacker struck amidst the chaos. He chose a tricky angle, emerging from the shadows, catching the remaining bodyguard off guard. But the bodyguard quickly recovered and blocked the attack.
It was apparent that the second attacker was no match for the bodyguard.
Yet, the attacker smirked sinisterly.
The bodyguard's heart sank, his gaze shifting towards Scarlett Qin, who also noticed the situation. She was calm despite the danger, having survived many such ordeals.
Meanwhile, the third attacker made his move, his approach thunderous.
But it seemed he didn't intend to harm Scarlett Qin. Suddenly, several security guards from the bar, alerted by the monitors, rushed out to help.
Their numbers added to the chaos.
Someone shouted, "Murder! Murder!"
The cry alarmed everyone, making the violence evident, even gunshots were heard. The crowd went into a frenzy.
The situation spiraled out of control. Then, the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh attackers swarmed in.
The bar manager, pale with fear, would have joined in if he could. A punch on him was tolerable, but if Scarlett Qin got hurt, he'd be in deep trouble with the boss.
"Quick, protect the boss lady and get her out of the bar!" The security guards fought desperately, knowing staying inside was more dangerous. Once outside, the attackers might restrain themselves. The situation escalated too quickly, and they relied on their numbers for an advantage.
Scarlett Qin was escorted out amidst the chaos.
Once outside, they realized a blackout had enveloped the street. Even the streetlights were off, plunging half the street into darkness.
The crowd panicked, some running away. Those protecting Scarlett Qin stood their ground. However, amidst the chaos, some of the bar's security turned against them, further complicating the situation.
Scarlett Qin's face paled, but she chose not to flee, knowing escape was impossible. The attackers didn't seem intent on harming her, leaving room for negotiation.
Yet, seeing her protectors fall one by one, Scarlett Qin's heart sank. What force was targeting her? The lack of clues troubled her most. As a woman alone, she couldn't resist.
Finally, with no one left to protect her, Scarlett Qin stood surrounded.
"The Godmother of the Underworld, indeed impressive. Just your courage alone surpasses many women," said three men, encircling her.
"Who are you?" Scarlett Qin demanded, her aura undiminished.
The men seemed indifferent. "Miss Qin, come with us. If we have to get rough, it might hurt you, and then Justin Chen, the Godfather of the Underworld, might rage."
Mentioning Justin Chen didn't faze them. They even sneered, clearly not regarding Cheng Gang or Justin Chen highly.
Scarlett Qin realized they weren't locals from Fenghuang City. But in her current situation, could she refuse them?
Her bodyguards hadn't appeared, likely detained or downed.
"Lead the way," Scarlett Qin said, maintaining her composure despite inner turmoil.
One of the men admired her poise, "I like women like you who remain unflustered in the face of disaster. Let's go."
He led the way to a parked Mercedes. Scarlett Qin got into the car, followed by one of the men. The leader sat in the passenger seat, and another drove off skillfully.
"Interesting," Tyler Luo mused in a dark alley, touching his chin. He approached a motorcycle that had just stopped.
The driver didn't have time to react before Tyler Luo knocked him out, "Borrowing your motorcycle."
Knowing the driver was no good, Tyler Luo felt no guilt taking the motorcycle.
Inside the Mercedes, Scarlett Qin frowned, "Can you tell me who you are now?"
"Don't worry, Miss Qin. You'll meet our boss soon," the men replied. The passenger suddenly alerted, "A motorcycle is chasing us, be careful."
Only three men were with Scarlett Qin. One drove, while the others, armed with handguns, prepared for the chase.
They hadn't used guns in the melee but had no choice now.
Adrian Qin tensed, hoping the chaser wouldn't get shot.
Scarlett Qin assumed the chaser was from Cheng Gang, unaware of such a brave member among them. It certainly wasn't one of her bodyguards.
The motorcycle's roaring engine caught up with the Mercedes.
"Fire!" The men didn't hesitate, bullets flying.
But surprisingly, the motorcyclist dodged skillfully, only the motorcycle getting hit.
The men grew anxious. The driver, driven by desperation, swerved the Mercedes to collide with the motorcycle.
"Bang!"
The motorcycle crashed into a roadside flowerbed.
"He's on the roof!"
Realizing this, the men inside panicked. They had run out of bullets and hadn't planned to carry guns initially, to avoid police trouble.
"Shake him off!" The passenger ordered.
But the Mercedes, swerving wildly, couldn't dislodge the man on the roof.
"Drive faster!" He didn't believe they couldn't shake him off. "Fasten your seatbelts."
Clearly, they planned to use sudden braking to throw the man off. As the Mercedes sped on the highway, then braked abruptly, the tires screeched against the road, the car sliding a long distance.
"Where is he?"
The car stopped, but the man on the roof was still there.
To their surprise, a figure jumped down, appearing next to the driver. A punch shattered the window, knocking out the driver.
