Squeak!
The office door opened, but Ella Luo didn't immediately look up; instead, she was absorbed in a document in front of her. The company had just been established, and many things required hands-on attention. Moreover, staffing was just beginning, and this was a task for the two bosses, her and Avery Xu.
However, according to Avery Xu, they had found a somewhat reliable, albeit inexperienced, employee. Now, he seemed to be the only option, as Avery Xu was tied up with something else this morning and would come in later.
Tyler Luo felt awkward as he entered the office and saw Ella Luo still engrossed in her work, but he was once again struck by her beauty. Her delicate facial features looked stunningly beautiful, and she wasn't even trying; her natural grace and allure were effortlessly apparent.
Moreover, it was this exquisite face that, under him that night, had shown an expression of extreme debauchery.
As Tyler Luo was observing her, Ella Luo put down her pen and looked up.
"Boom!"
Her heart seemed to slam hard when she clearly saw the man in front of her. Ella Luo's face turned pale with surprise, and she was speechless for a long time.
"Cough, Manager Luo, I'm the new employee, Tyler Luo." To break the awkwardness, Tyler Luo had to speak first. He felt a bit embarrassed, but didn't think too much of it.
If Ella Luo couldn't handle it, he was ready to leave; there was no need to stay just to be subjected to someone else's displeasure. Although confident in his "bedroom skills," Tyler Luo wasn't foolish enough to believe that just because he had a one-night stand with her, she would be interested in him.
In fact, it was precisely because of this, upon seeing him, Ella Luo's first thought was to get rid of him from Baihua Technology!
The world is indeed small. The man she thought she'd never meet again unexpectedly appeared before her, unannounced. Moreover, he was now her subordinate, which left Ella Luo shocked and a bit resentful.
Should she dismiss him?
This question flickered through her mind, but ultimately, Ella Luo took a deep breath, her gaze becoming sharp: "Tyler Luo, right? Listen, I won't pretend I don't know you. What happened that night is in the past, and I don't want to hear any gossip about it."
"Manager Luo, you're overreacting. I don't remember anything about that night. But if you find me disagreeable, I can leave right now." Tyler Luo was somewhat surprised by Ella Luo's reaction; he had expected her to ask him to leave immediately.
But now it seemed she intended to keep him?
Ella Luo, however, felt a bit annoyed, especially by his clear and seemingly truthful gaze. This man didn't seem to care at all that he had been intimate with her, as if it didn't matter to him.
Tyler Luo's attitude was the real reason for Ella Luo's anger.
What did he mean? Did their one-night stand mean nothing to him? Although Ella Luo didn't place much importance on her looks and figure, she had absolute confidence as a woman. Many men sought her out just for a chance at intimacy.
But now, the man in front of her seemed almost dismissive.
How could Ella Luo tolerate that?
It was like donating money. Donating voluntarily is different from being forced to donate. Although the outcome is the same, the nature is entirely different.
Now, it was the same situation. This man had taken her first time so casually!
Although Ella Luo told herself to forget the past, when a man acted like this, it felt like she had lost billions.
Women's psychology can be puzzling sometimes. If Tyler Luo knew that his deliberate indifference would cause such a significant psychological impact on Ella Luo, he would surely regret it.
Ella Luo was a rare beauty. Sharing a bed with such a woman was a dream many men couldn't achieve. Tyler Luo felt a sense of accomplishment but couldn't show it, fearing it might provoke her.
His intentional demeanor only exacerbated Ella Luo's dissatisfaction, and he had no idea what she thought.
"What can you do?" After a while, Ella Luo spoke, her gaze on Tyler Luo slightly off.
This left Tyler Luo frustrated. Wasn't she the one who said to forget about it? He had made his stance very clear. What more did she want?
Although he was internally vexed, Tyler Luo remained professional: "I'm versatile in my skills. Why don't you tell me what my job entails, and I'll see if I'm up to the task." If not, he thought, he could just leave.
Ella Luo was even more irritated. How dare an employee speak to his boss like that? Although angry, she could see the pride in Tyler Luo. He was a man full of pride.
"Right, Avery Xu said I should go to the HR department," Tyler Luo suddenly interjected.
"As you've seen, we are a new company. Apart from Avery Xu and me, you're the next in line. Recruitment is currently our top priority. Can you handle it?" Ella Luo asked softly, her emotions indiscernible.
"Task will be completed."
Tyler Luo nodded, meeting her gaze unflinchingly. Although serious, the sight of her stunning face distracted him, bringing back memories of their night together.
Ella Luo noticed Tyler Luo's obvious daze and the sudden heat in his eyes. She knew what he was thinking. Although she insisted on forgetting, the fact that they had been intimate was undeniable.
"HR is now in charge of hiring. We've already contacted a recruitment agency. But we need you to follow up. The initial screening of candidates will be your responsibility. If you think they're suitable, recommend them for an interview with me." If you don't perform well, you'll have it coming! Ella Luo thought to herself after speaking.
"Where's my office?" Tyler Luo asked, eager to leave her presence.
"There are plenty of seats outside. Choose any," Ella Luo said, lowering her head as if to continue working, seemingly uninterested.
Tyler Luo didn't respond and simply walked out, closing the door behind him.
"This woman isn't someone I wanted to see again." Tyler Luo could sense Ella Luo's hostility, but what puzzled him was her decision not to dismiss him.
Shrugging, he decided it didn't matter and returned to his chosen spot near the window in the large office.
HR was a new field for Tyler Luo, but he wasn't daunted. He found the materials for liaising with the recruitment agency and began consulting about the situation.
However, the customer service representative seemed unclear, only informing him of a job fair happening in two days that his company could attend.
"A job fair, not a bad idea." Tyler Luo organized a plan. Gathering such information was simple for him, given his experience with various tasks. After printing a report, he reluctantly knocked on Ella Luo's office door again.
"Manager Luo, there's a major job fair in a few days organized by the recruitment agency. I think we should participate. Here are the requirements. Please have a look." Tyler Luo got straight to the point, finding any additional conversation with Ella Luo torturous.
Tyler Luo hadn't expected to be so apprehensive about being alone with a woman.
But after that night, when he had taken advantage of her, he always felt a bit uneasy around Ella Luo, which was only natural.
Ella Luo was surprised by Tyler Luo's proposal. She had thought him incapable, but his thorough and detailed plan, even addressing aspects she hadn't considered, impressed her.
If he were to make a detailed plan, she thought, he would probably be up to the task after a brief orientation.
Although Ella Luo still had reservations about Tyler Luo, she had to admit he had talent.
"Go ahead with your plan. If you need anything, let me know. If I'm not available, talk to Avery Xu."
"Okay."
Tyler Luo nodded and left the office without looking back, missing Ella Luo's fierce glare at his retreating figure.
Stepping out of the office, Tyler Luo breathed a sigh of relief. Although Ella Luo was stunningly beautiful, being alone with her was too stressful. After contacting the recruitment agency, he decided to "inspect" the job fair site that afternoon.
Ella Luo didn't object.
"Women, truly the most complicated creatures in the world," Tyler Luo sighed as he left the office building, relieved.
