"Do you believe in fate?" Emily Wang's gaze towards Tyler Luo had indeed become fiery at this moment. Such a look was common in men, but it was somewhat chilling when seen in a woman.
Tyler Luo, with his keen intuition, subconsciously created some distance between them. "Fate, it's too elusive. I don't really believe in it."
"Is that so? But what if I told you that the day before I met you on the bus, I had just had my fortune told?" Emily Wang lowered her voice, but her excitement was still evident.
Tyler Luo was startled and followed her lead, asking, "What did it say?" But as soon as he asked, he regretted it.
Emily Wang went on somewhat incessantly: "The fortune said that I would meet the most important man in my life the next day, and that he would save me when I needed it."
"Ah, that's really great, haha." Tyler Luo felt awkward inside. He didn't expect her to say something like that.
Emily Wang's face blushed slightly, "So, do you think I should believe in fate?"
This was only their second meeting. Tyler Luo felt it was a bit far-fetched. Although he looked good and had a decent physique, it seemed unlikely that a woman would fall for him at first sight. What was this woman missing? Tyler Luo felt awkward and changed the subject, "By the way, Miss Wang, where are you headed? Aren't you working today?"
"Yes, I am. I'm going to the employment agency for an upcoming recruitment fair. My company's people are busy, so I'm filling in," Emily Wang said, her blush fleeting but she faced Tyler Luo directly.
"I see." Tyler Luo inwardly groaned, wondering why she was looking at him with such desire. He didn't dare to continue the conversation, fearing she knew he was also attending the job fair.
Just then, Emily Wang noticed the bag in Tyler Luo's hand, bearing the employment agency's logo: "What a coincidence, are you also here for the job fair?"
"Uh, yes." Tyler Luo nodded. But Emily Wang leaned in at that moment, startling him and leaving him clueless about her intentions.
The bus stopped at that moment, and Tyler Luo quickly said, "This is my stop, let's chat another time."
After saying this, he squeezed his way off the bus.
Fleeing from a woman, how embarrassing. Tyler Luo watched the bus drive away, not sure whether to laugh or cry.
But he couldn't see that on the bus, as he got off, Emily Wang had a faint smile on her face, "I also asked the fortune teller, and it said I would have several chance encounters with this man. That was just a test. Hee hee, he's quite a gentleman."
After all, faced with such a hint from a beautiful woman, few men could resist. Emily Wang did this to test Tyler Luo, and if he had known, he would have seized the chance to flirt with her, without a doubt!
But what Emily Wang said was mostly true; she really believed in fate. So, when she met Tyler Luo again, she was genuinely happy. This feeling was indescribable to others. And seeing him flee in fear only made her want to laugh out loud.
Not leaving contact information didn't bother her, as she believed in fate. If there was a first and second meeting, there would be a third. That was the fate she believed in, unless Tyler Luo wasn't the one she was waiting for.
As for what fate was, even Emily Wang couldn't explain it clearly.
Meanwhile, Tyler Luo, having gotten off the bus, waited for another one. It was almost time to close at his company, where only Avery Xu was present, with Ella Luo seemingly not back yet. This made Tyler Luo feel a bit less awkward.
"Avery, do you have plans tonight?" Avery Xu came out of her office, not in her usual work outfit but in a snow-white evening dress with a shawl.
Tall and elegant, she looked even more mature and attractive in high heels. Her presence was like a fresh, ethereal fairy, yet mature and charming, with a fragrance that made its way to Tyler Luo.
It was a torment for any man to work with such enchanting beauties. Tyler Luo tried to maintain his composure but couldn't help looking a few more times,"Do you have plans tonight?"
"How about joining me for a business cocktail party?"
"Ah? But look at me."
Tyler Luo pointed at his casual clothes. "You're not going to let me go with you like this, are you?"
"Then hurry home and change. There's still time."
"Uh, can I say I don't have any formal wear?"
Tyler Luo spoke the truth; he rarely wore suits as they were inconvenient for action.
"Go buy one now!" Avery Xu glared at him, wondering if he was deliberately sabotaging the plan.
But Tyler Luo just smiled wryly, "I don't have that much money. I've almost spent all I had since arriving in Fenghuang City."
"The company will reimburse you!"
Avery Xu decided on the spot and dismissed Tyler Luo's concerns, "Hurry up and clean up, then go buy a suit. There's still time." Her alluring look in the sexy evening dress, revealing her shoulders and collarbone, captivated Tyler Luo.
Tyler Luo still had his discipline, having seen many beautiful women in his travels, including many with international flair. But Avery Xu's elegant demeanor, containing the unique charm of Eastern women, was something Western women couldn't match. Since the boss had spoken, Tyler Luo could only comply, albeit reluctantly, and accompanied her to the parking lot.
"Huh? Why a BMW now?" Tyler Luo looked at the white BMW in front of him and turned to her.
"Can't I change cars? Hurry up and drive, let's buy a suit first."
"As you command."
Tyler Luo replied listlessly and drove away in the BMW.
The car seemed to be a recent BMW M6, its white paint likely a recent addition. Overall, it was quite nice, probably worth around two million.
Tyler Luo was curious about the identities of Avery Xu and Ella Luo. They seemed only in their mid-twenties, yet they had such vast funds. Their demeanor suggested they were not from ordinary families, indicating powerful conglomerates behind them.
But these were not crucial matters to Tyler Luo. He hadn't come to work for the job or money. He had never been short of money. If he ever ran out, he would simply target the local criminal gangs that the government wanted gone.
"People like them are sometimes lawless. But they targeted criminals the government wanted to eradicate.
"Hey, this suit looks great, fits like it's tailor-made." At a renowned clothing store, Tyler Luo tried on a white tailcoat and looked natural in it.
"You look like a born clothes hanger. I didn't realize you'd look so handsome in a suit," Avery Xu circled him, "No need to try others, this one's perfect."
"Okay, if you like it." Tyler Luo could only nod.
The suit cost about ten thousand yuan. For most people, spending that much on a suit was unthinkable. But for some, a ten thousand yuan suit was quite cheap.
Tyler Luo, not short on cash, didn't care, and neither did Avery Xu. The store's staff watched the pair with curious eyes, making Tyler Luo feel like he was being mistaken for a gold digger.
"Pfft!"
Seeing Tyler Luo's frustrated expression, Avery Xu laughed as they got in the car, "What's with that look?"
"What else could it be?" Tyler Luo started the car grumpily, "Where to next?"
"Fenghuang Grand Hotel, 88th floor."
"Figures."
Tyler Luo smirked. In Fenghuang City, places like this always involved the Luo family. Though he shared the surname, Tyler Luo seemed to have no connection with them.
Remembering Kevin Luo from the Fenghuang Grand Hotel, Tyler Luo found it funny how the Luo family had declined, producing such a wastrel. In another place, Tyler Luo would have eliminated such a character without a second thought.
In the parking lot filled with million-dollar cars, the BMW M6 was unremarkable. Walking side by side into the elevator to the 88th floor, Avery Xu lightly hung onto Tyler Luo's arm and handed over the invitation to enter the venue.
"There are so many people." Tyler Luo disliked such gatherings, preferring a more down-to-earth setting with beers and skewers.
"Come with me over there," Avery Xu pulled Tyler Luo towards a group of people.
But her movement accidentally made Tyler Luo's arm brush against her softest spot.
Tyler Luo felt a thrill and was about to enjoy the moment when he saw someone he didn't really want to meet.
