"Satisfied, very satisfied." Renting a three-bedroom, one-living room apartment at such a price in this area is indeed very cheap. Especially since I'm sharing it with two women. Although I don't know what the other female tenant is like, having such a beautiful landlady like this, which man wouldn't be happy? "It's just that I think you must have some other requirements, right? Otherwise, who would give up the opportunity to live with such a beautiful woman?"
"Oh? Aren’t you afraid I’ll be upset with such frivolous talk?" Elizabeth Zhuang raised her eyebrows, but didn't seem as angry as she said she might be. She sat with her beautiful legs crossed and arms folded, seemingly a bit interested in Tyler Luo.
"Anyway, that's just the way I am. If any man doesn’t appreciate beauty, I wouldn’t believe it. If you find it disgusting that I take a few more glances at you, then if I really rent this place, you'll probably want me to leave in a few days, so why bother?" Tyler Luo was just being honest.
However, what Tyler didn't know was that his words had made a good impression on Elizabeth Zhuang. After all, others were always flattering and overly courteous towards her. But this man, although his gaze was intense, didn’t have the same hypocrisy that made her feel sick. It was actually commendable.
"It's not impossible to rent here, but I have one condition. If you can meet it, I'll give you a 20% discount on the rent!" Elizabeth Zhuang said this, which really made Tyler look at her in disbelief.
"I'll tell you first, I don’t sell body!" Tyler Luo said with a righteous face.
"Ha!" Elizabeth Zhuang couldn't help but laugh, scolding,"Who's asking you to sell yourself? Be serious when you speak!"
The coquettish complaint of a beauty, what a scene. Especially since she was wearing a dress with a low neckline, bending over just allowed Tyler Luo to see quite a view.
"Where are your eyes looking!" Elizabeth Zhuang immediately noticed his intensely heated gaze.
"Not looking would be a waste, who wouldn’t look if they could?" Tyler Luo responded nonchalantly.
"Now I'm starting to regret saying you could rent the place," Elizabeth Zhuang glared at him, but out of all those who wanted to rent her place, this young man was the only one she found somewhat appealing. Although his gaze was intense, it wasn't overly lecherous.
"Alright, Miss Zhuang, if you think I'm suitable, why don’t you tell me your requirements? Renting from you seems quite challenging," Tyler Luo said somewhat helplessly.
"Can you fight?" Elizabeth Zhuang suddenly asked.
This caught Tyler Luo off guard and he took a moment before asking, "What did you just ask? Can fight? You don't mean fighting, do you?"
"Yes, can you fight?" Elizabeth Zhuang asked seriously, her gaze sweeping over Tyler Luo's figure as if imagining whether he could handle a fight.
Tyler Luo was genuinely bewildered. "Can I ask why the ability to fight is a requirement for renting?"
"No choice, there are too many loafers around. And I'd like to have a man's presence to shut them up. Some people might get angry, but won't do much. What I fear most are those who can smile on the surface, but secretly want to harm you," Elizabeth Zhuang said this with a slight blush, seemingly a bit embarrassed.
Tyler Luo rolled his eyes: "So, there's a risk to life in renting here."
"It's something like that, I've been honest with you. Although you seem a bit flirty, you also seem reliable," Elizabeth Zhuang nodded at Tyler Luo, seemingly not too disappointed with her first impression.
"Oh? You've known me for how long and you think I'm reliable?"
"I studied psychology, especially criminal psychology. A person’s eyes are the windows to their soul and can reveal a lot of information," Elizabeth Zhuang nodded, "You haven’t answered my question yet. Can you fight?"
"I guess I can," Tyler Luo touched his nose. He should be able to fight, although he hadn't fought in a long time. He had always been more direct. Of course, he couldn't say this out loud, or Elizabeth Zhuang might call the police immediately.
"Guess?" Elizabeth Zhuang raised an eyebrow.
"Alright, alright, you win. I was a soldier, does that count?" Tyler Luo seriously took out a small booklet from his pocket, his military discharge certificate.
Elizabeth Zhuang looked it over and then laughed: "I really couldn't tell, but that's even better. But I should warn you, be careful, because there are really quite a few of those types of people around. And our neighborhood has been quite restless lately, with a lot of ruffians hanging around."
"Yeah, no problem, I can handle a few people."
"Then that’s settled. I’ll prepare a contract, and we can sign it right away?" Elizabeth Zhuang was really quick in getting things done.
Tyler Luo was quite surprised, but since she didn’t mind, he didn’t either.
The so-called contract was quite simple. After both sides signed, Tyler Luo transferred three months' rent to her on the spot. "Utilities are separate, right? You can bill me for those later."
"I like straightforward men," Elizabeth Zhuang nodded in satisfaction. Perhaps to outsiders, this might seem too casual. But from the moment Tyler Luo called her to meeting him and every word they exchanged, Elizabeth Zhuang was observing him. As she just said, being proficient in psychology, it was too easy for her to analyze a person's underlying thoughts.
Tyler Luo might seem a bit lecherous, but the depth in his eyes didn't match his outward demeanor.
"Here are the keys to our front door, the card for the community gate, and the key to your room."
"Okay, I don’t have much stuff, just one suitcase. This room is fine." Looking at his new room, Tyler Luo was quite satisfied. The room was neither big nor small, with a window facing the tallest building in the city center, a bed, a wardrobe, a computer desk, and an air conditioner.
"Ah, I forgot I had an appointment." After finishing these tasks, Elizabeth Zhuang remembered she had a client meeting, "You handle yourself, call me if there's any problem."
"Hey, hey, you're leaving just like that?"
Tyler Luo was truly taken aback.
"Of course, what, should I take you with me?" Elizabeth Zhuang was already at the entrance, putting on her shoes, "Anyway, we’ve signed the contract, so if you wreck the place, I’ll call the police!" She said, raising her little fist.
It wasn't until after Elizabeth Zhuang left that Tyler Luo was still a bit dazed. So he had really rented the place? She was quite casual as a landlady.
A bit amused and baffled, Tyler Luo sat down on the sofa. "Actually, sharing a place with a beauty isn't bad. But these little tricks are really embarrassing."
His gaze inadvertently swept over a decoration under the TV cabinet. That hidden camera was concealed, but it couldn’t escape Tyler Luo’s eyes, and it wasn’t very professional.
Tyler Luo couldn't be bothered to expose it and left to move his luggage from the hotel to this new temporary foothold in Fenghuang City. Looking at the tallest skyscraper in the city center, a 268-floor building, the headquarters of Dawn Group.
The true master of Fenghuang City.
Dragging his suitcase, Tyler Luo entered the community, just as a couple was leaving. He stopped, turned his head to watch the couple walking away, furrowed his brow, then shook his head, muttering to himself, "The people living in this community seem a bit unusual."
The couple seemed ordinary, but Tyler Luo's years of experience told him they were not. He could tell from their steps. It was also a kind of intuition from a skilled person, irrational, but intuitive.
And it was this intuition that had saved Tyler Luo's life many times.
Unlocking the door, Tyler Luo moved his luggage inside, which was really just a few clothes. After placing them in the wardrobe, he left the bedroom. It felt a bit hot in this summer season without the air conditioner. Although Fenghuang City was built on a desert, it wasn’t very hot.
Dawn Group had invented a thin material called "Cool Clouds" that covered Fenghuang City year-round, effectively blocking intense ultraviolet rays and reducing the temperature. It could also control the city's rainfall through the Cool Clouds system.
Taking off his shirt, Tyler Luo was about to take a shower. After all, there was no one else at home, but such ordinary days were quite different from his past life on the edge of danger. Living too comfortably made him feel uneasy.
But when Tyler Luo opened the bathroom door, he was stunned.
There was someone in the bathroom!
And it was a woman!
