"Ruth."
This lively and sweet girl was the precious daughter of Uncle Henry's Clinic, Henry Chen.
She had a cheerful personality. Since the two stores were next to each other, they often visited each other and had a good relationship.
"Brother Noah, did you oversleep again? You're coming to open up so late."
Ruth Chen was like a joyful, cute bunny with lively and beautiful big eyes that were very captivating.
Noah Jiang laughed and opened the door of the clinic, saying, "What's the difference between opening early and opening late?"
Ruth Chen followed him in and said, "Brother Noah, don't be discouraged. Maybe one day your Conception and Governor vessels will be unblocked, and you'll become a great doctor and save many lives."
While Noah Jiang was cleaning the counter with a duster, he smiled at Ruth Chen and said, "Thank you for comforting me. But don't worry, I'm not that fragile inside."
"Hehe, I knew Brother Noah was strong inside and wouldn't admit defeat. I wish you success in restoring the reputation of Jiang Clinic." Ruth Chen said with a cute smile.
Noah Jiang nodded in agreement. Just then, a nurse with freckles on her face stood at the door and called out, "Ruth, a seriously ill patient has just arrived, and we're short of hands. Please come back to help."
"Alright, Hina."
Ruth Chen nodded, and immediately grabbed Noah Jiang's hand, "Brother Noah, come and take a look with me since you have nothing to do anyway."
Noah Jiang gave a wry smile as he was pulled by Ruth Chen to the neighbouring Uncle Henry's Clinic.
Though the clinic wasn't very large, it was fully equipped.
Especially Henry Chen, he was an outstanding western medicine doctor. Despite running a clinic on a street dominated by traditional Chinese medicine, even older established clinics like Zhaoming Clinic couldn't surpass him. Hence, Uncle Henry's Clinic was very popular.
"Doctor, please save my wife. I beg you."
A young man with an anxious face was pulling on the arm of a middle-aged man in a white lab coat. That was Henry Chen.
Watching a young woman who was constantly howling and being held down by four nurses on the bed, as if she had lost her sanity, Henry Chen, puzzled, turned to the young man and asked, "What happened to her?"
"My wife was bitten by a stray dog a couple of days ago. I took her to get the rabies vaccine, but last night, she suddenly developed a high fever. I thought it was just a cold from the air conditioning.
But this morning, her fever got worse, and she started acting strangely. So, I rushed her here. Doctor, does my wife have rabies?" The young man asked, worry evident on his face.
"Hmm, given her current symptoms, it's very likely," Henry Chen replied, looking at the young woman with concern.
After checking her symptoms, he nodded to the young man, "It's confirmed that your wife has rabies. Hold her down. I'll give her a sedative to calm her down."
Ruth Chen and Noah Jiang entered and saw the young woman on the bed raging and howling, displaying all the symptoms of rabies.
However, Noah Jiang frowned slightly, noticing a clump of black energy condensed between the young woman's eyebrows, which puzzled him.
After Henry Chen administered the sedative, the young woman slowly calmed down. But before everyone could breathe a sigh of relief, she suddenly started raging again, screaming, "Ah, I'll kill you all!"
This scared the nurses and Henry Chen, who shouted, "Quickly, hold her down!"
"Oh my God, she's so strong! We can't hold her!"
The young woman managed to push away the four nurses, causing panic amongst the onlookers. Despite her petite figure, she was incredibly strong when enraged.
"Noah Jiang, Ethan Chen, what are you waiting for? Come and help hold her down!"
Henry Chen and others quickly tried to restrain the young woman while shouting at Noah Jiang and a young doctor.
The young doctor's name was Ethan Chen, Henry Chen's son.
The two immediately moved to hold down the woman's legs. Her husband, with a panicked expression, said to Henry Chen, "Doctor, didn't you give my wife a sedative? Why didn't it work? What disease does my wife have?"
"I am still..."
"What she had wasn't rabies. There was something else at play!" Noah Jiang's eyes narrowed slightly, focusing on the dark cloud on the young madam's forehead.
Henry Chen and the young madam's husband were stunned. Immediately, Ethan Chen, who was in front of Noah Jiang, coldly snorted, "What nonsense are you spouting? If you don't know anything, don't speak nonsense here. Get out!"
"Exactly, just a minor traditional Chinese doctor, or rather a quack. Talking about curses, do you think this is the 70s or 80s? A feudal society?" The nurse beside him, Jadyn Wang, ridiculed Noah Jiang.
"Someone who even prescribes medicine wrongly has the audacity to speak here. If you don't know anything, get out and don't hinder our treatment of the patient." Another male doctor glanced at Noah Jiang disdainfully.
On this traditional medicine street, everyone knew Noah Jiang as a man who married into his wife's family, a useless man who lived off his wife. Therefore, his reputation was that of a street rat that everyone wanted to chase away.
Noah Jiang remained calm. He had grown accustomed to the malicious attitudes of those around him.
He looked up at Henry Chen and said, "Uncle Henry, I know you don't believe me, but it's not as simple as her having rabies!"
Henry Chen frowned deeply, glaring at Noah Jiang. He then quickly told Ruth, "Ruth, go get the RNA cleanser for me!"
"Dad, but Brother Noah said she..."
"Are you listening to me or him? What does he know?"
Henry Chen shouted in anger. It wasn't that he didn't trust Noah, but he was all too familiar with Noah's knowledge and level of expertise in traditional Chinese medicine.
Ruth Chen looked at Noah Jiang helplessly and went to fetch the RNA cleanser. Henry Chen immediately injected it into the young madam.
Noah Jiang looked grave. The young madam's body trembled violently. The cleanser had no effect. Her eyes rolled back, she frothed at the mouth, and her heart rate was erratic. She was at risk of sudden death.
This scared the young madam's husband, who looked terrified. Emotionally agitated, he grabbed Henry Chen by the collar, "Can you save my wife or not? Look at her condition. If anything happens to my wife, I'll destroy your clinic!"
At this point, even Henry Chen was panicking. Seeing the young madam convulsing and frothing at the mouth, he quickly attempted CPR, but to no avail.
Everyone present was at a loss, watching as the young madam slowly showed signs of lifelessness.
"Wife, wife, wake up!"
The young man lunged forward, holding his unresponsive wife. He was distraught and, in his fury, turned and punched Henry Chen in the face, shouting, "Quack! You killed my wife, I'll fight you!"
"Sir, please calm down first."
Noah Jiang, Ethan Chen, and others quickly tried to restrain the frantic young man. They hadn't expected things to escalate so quickly.
Henry Chen was pale, staring at the young madam who had lost her heartbeat on the hospital bed. He could hardly believe this was happening.
Noah Jiang grabbed the frenzied young man, "Calm down and let me try again!"
"You?"
The young man stared in fury, pointing at Noah Jiang and everyone present, roaring, "Listen up, my brother is Oscar! If anything happens to my wife, I'll make sure each and every one of you pays!"
"Oscar? The notorious Brother Oscar from Yilin District?"
The faces of Ethan Chen, Jadyn Wang, and others turned pale with fear. Oscar was a well-known thug in the Yilin District.
Noah Jiang remained composed, returning to the bedside. Observing the dark cloud on the young madam's forehead, he pressed his index and middle fingers together, channeling an invisible white energy into the Sky Spirit acupoint on her forehead.
Suddenly, the young madam opened her eyes, her face contorted in rage. She screamed at Noah Jiang, clawing at him, "Get away, get away from me!"
"Wife, Honey you're awake!"
The young man rushed to embrace his wife, overwhelmed with emotion.
Henry Chen, Ethan Chen, Ruth Chen, and others present were stunned, watching as the young madam miraculously awoke. They looked in bewilderment at Noah Jiang, not believing he had genuinely revived her.
"It must be a coincidence. I didn't even see him touch her, and she woke up."
"Yes, can a quack like him save anyone? It must be mere coincidence." The surrounding doctors, including Ethan Chen and nurse Jadyn Wang, were unwilling to believe.
They all felt it was just a coincidence, not due to Noah Jiang's intervention.
