chapter 1 maternal

"Undoubtedly, this is the most serious medical accident our hospital has encountered this year. Has Amelia Leone been here? She's an authority and first-class expert in obstetrics and gynecology in the province. If she comes forward to explain, the family members will be able to understand the mother's situation at that time and admit it's not our responsibility."
James Clemens, the director of People's First Hospital in Westlomrio City, propped his hands on the table and looked seriously at the offices directors and deputy directors sitting below.
"Dean, Director Leone is already on her way here. She was on vacation today, so she went to her residence in the suburbs. There is currently a traffic jam in the Joseringfield Suburban District. I'm afraid she won't be here in an hour," the director of the emergency room checked his watch and said anxiously.
"In an hour? The reporters are almost here. Can the police hold on waiting for Director Leone to come?"
"Give back my wife!"
"Morrally corrupt Hospital, we need an explanation."
"Give back my daughter!"
"Let us see the leader! Get out of the hospital, dean."
"Hand over the chief doctor, life for a life!"
When James Clemens was inquiring the office director, a loud roar came out of the window, sounding dissatisfying greatly. It seemed to going to overturn the hospital at any time.
"So lawlessness! How can these unscrupulous people leave the coffins at the entrance of the hospital! Why don't they just take the dead person away and cremate it? We are not a crematorium. The weather is also hot. It will stink soon." Vice President William Wade walked to the window and take a glance out of it. Then he snorted coldly and returned to his seat.
"Associate dean Wade, it's wrong. If your wife died for the dystocia in the hospital, wouldn't you scratch your neck and cry?"
"What are you saying? Do you think i don't know you are pursuing Director Xander of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology?" William looked at the director of the emergency room with a livid face. When he was about to say goodbye to him, unexpectedly, a loud knock ringed out on the door of the conference room at this moment.
They turned their heads and looked at Bella, director of the obstetrics department, who rushed in. Bella was in her early thirties, with fair skin, wearing a pair of black half-rimmed glasses, and her hair was carefully pulled back. However, she looked serious and did not say anything, failing to notice that a strand of black hair straggled due to her fast running, which ruined the atmosphere and make her more charmful, looking knowledgeable and sexy.
Without waiting for anyone to ask, Bella spoke quickly, professionally and calmly, "Dear leaders, I have already asked clearly about the accident. This morning, the mother gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 6 pounds and 7 taels naturally at three o'clock. The depth of the amniotic fluid before the birth was only 21 millimeters, which is oligohydramnios. More than that, all physiological indicators of the mother were within the normal range. For the safety of the mother and the child, our doctor on duty recommended a caesarean section, but the mother insisted on giving birth by herself. When the child was born halfway through, due to too little amniotic fluid, the baby's body was so dry that the mother died of shock because her exhaustion. The family could not understand and immediately snatched the body away. The reason for their trouble has been found out, mainly because of the doctor on duty yesterday. He is a new doctor, and the family members believe that the hospital is irresponsible to the mother because we haven't arranged for an experienced doctor, making fun of their loved ones' lives..."
"Asshole, if all think so, then how we doctors are? They are really a bunch of unreasonable people. If you have too little amniotic fluid, you should have a caesarean section," William patted the table and said.
"Deputy dean Wade, it seems that you are experienced in handling this kind of matter, why don't you accompany Director Xander down there," James glanced at William coldly and said.
"Are you kidding me? I am the dean. How can I go to meet those unruly people? Look at how they look like, all blushing with agitation," William turned his head and said with a dark face.
"You don't want to go, so why do you talk so much? Leaders, as soon as Director Xander left, the crowd suddenly became excited. I just went down to take a look and maintained order, but I have a new situation that I want to report to Director Xander.”
When William and James were arguing, a thin-faced young man in a white coat stood beside the door of the conference room. Although he called him "leader", there was no flattery in his eyes. He was neither humble nor overbearing, with a faint smile on his face.
"Who are you? Do you still have a leader in your eyes?" William suddenly became angry when he saw that a young doctor could casually say a few words to him.
"How could it be? Alexander is running out of breath. Isn't he just looking for me as the leader? He is an intern in our obstetrics and gynecology department, but he is a top student at the Westlomrio City College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Alexander, why don't you keep an eye downstairs and come up to me?" Bella looked at Alexander and asked, pushing up the glasses on nose.
From the first day Alexander Ludwig entered the hospital, she felt like she had a rapport with him, and she naturally spoke for him if there's no harm.
"According to my observation, the mother is not dead, she is still alive." Alexander continued to say, keeping startling others.
"What? Not dead?" Bella was shocked.
Everyone in the conference room looked sideways. William sneered and said, "You are just an intern doctor. How dare you to say such outrageous things to gain a position? If you think she is not dead, does that mean that our hospital made a wrong diagnosis before?"
As soon as William finished speaking, some people who had hated him before softened their expressions and glared at Alexander.
What Alexander said had a great impact on the hospital.
The mother was given a death certification in the hospital and later found to be alive. In the eyes of the public, the hospital simply ignored human life!
If this accident spreads, it will be a huge blow to the reputation of the hospital.
"Do not talk nonsense, intern doctor."
"Students who have just left school are so emotional. Even if you feel sorry for the mother's family, you should not talk nonsense. Consider the consequences of what you say."
“Temp workers always like to cause trouble.”
"Deputy Dean Wade is wise. These are really a bunch of unscrupulous people. I don't know what those policemen are doing. These people are unlearned. Just scare them and they will go back home."
"Alexander, are you sure?"
Faced with everyone's criticism, Bella, director of the obstetrics department, asked seriously.
The dean also had a serious look on his face, while the emergency room director look playfully. His eyes flickered on the faces of William and the others, as if he had discovered something interesting.
"Yes." Alexander nodded.
"Why are you so sure?" The dean leaned forward, trying to put pressure on Alexander.
Alexander smiled faintly and said, "Just now I saw blood oozing from the coffin. I touched the blood drop and it was warm."
"Nonsense. In such a hot weather, the outdoor temperature has exceeded 38 degrees. After being baked by the sun, the coffin is like a steamer. What does the heat of the blood mean? Just based on this, you dare to judge the person inside not dead, it's absurd! I suggest to pay some compensation and take the person to be cremated first. Besides, they were the ones who took the body away and put it in the coffin. They are looking for death themselves. Why are you trying to stop them?" William stood up, he couldn't let an intern jump around in front of him.
"Who dares? That's a life!" Alexander changed his expression. He patted the solid wood door heavily. A loud bang shocked the hearts of everyone present, "I have reported the specific situation, and now I have to go down, Director Xander, will you come with me?"
Alexander wanted to come here to get a batch of approval slips and go to the Chinese medicine pharmacy originally, but the result was beyond his expectation. Time waits for no one, and he can't let these quack doctors continue to waste his time.
Bella was stunned. Alexander's frightening eyes were very familiar, but she couldn't remember where she had seen them before.
James became seriously again. The hospital waited for the situation to worsen. If Alexander was not allowed to open the coffin, and he spread the news that the mother was not dead, the City First Hospital would not be able to maintain its refutation. After all, gossip is a fearful thing.
To be cautious, James thought he could give Alexander a chance.
If It was done, the hospital also deserved credit.
If Alexander failed, he is an intern and has little connection with the hospital.
After weighing the pros and cons, James finally said, "What are you relying on?"
"Blood is living blood. Blood will coagulate and become necrotic after death. I guess that the mother was just too tired and very weak at the time, which caused the phenomenon of suspended animation. Now she has recovered in the coffin. Fortunately, the family did not plan to bury it immediately. So the gap was not sealed, and the blood flowed out. I have to go down. If I delay, the mother's life will be in danger."
"Hmph, it's sounds it's true. If the mother had died long ago, you will be responsible for all the responsibilities in this matter, including compensation!" William seized the opportunity and sneered.
"Okay, I will. If there's nothing to say, I'm going downstairs." Alexander answered loudly, causing a burst of exclamation in the conference room.
Bella was slightly startled, looking at Alexander with something strange in her eyes, and a vague dreamy figure flashed in her mind. When Alexander left, she started to get back her composure and quickly chased after him.
