Indie Sun had been watching Cyneburg Wu intently. She was quite attractive, easily scoring an eight in looks. Cyneburg had put a lot of effort into pursuing her back then.
Cyneburg too was looking at Indie Sun, the woman he had planned to make amends with after his release, his feelings a mix of bitterness and nostalgia.
Indie Sun's expression was cold as she spoke, "Cyneburg Wu, the reason I came to see you at the station is to make things clear before graduation. We are no longer suitable for each other. Let's break up."
Cyneburg sighed softly, "You're too impatient. If you just waited two more days, you would understand..."
"I don't need to understand!" Indie Sun interjected coldly, "We are officially over. Don't bother me anymore."
Cyneburg gave a self-deprecating smile. Why bother saying more when she had discarded him like a used shoe?
He turned slightly, calmly facing Narcisco Zhao, the man he once called a brother!
Narcisco couldn't meet his gaze and hung his head low.
Indie pushed him, annoyed, "Narcisco, what are you afraid of? You're much better than him now!"
Encouraged, Narcisco looked up, loudly proclaiming, "Indie Sun is now my girlfriend! Cyneburg Wu, don't blame me. Love came so suddenly, I..."
Carloman Lu, standing nearby, interrupted him with a sneer, "Narcisco, have you no shame? Talking about love? Remember when your family was in financial trouble, and you couldn't even afford food after paying tuition? Wasn't it Cyneburg who lent you his meal card to use freely? When you couldn't handle your part-time job, wasn't it Cyneburg who covered your shifts repeatedly? And when you were hospitalized, wasn't it Cyneburg who borrowed money to pay your deposit and took care of you for half a month? What have you done to repay him other than getting involved with his girlfriend?"
Narcisco opened his mouth to respond but couldn't utter a word, his face turning red and then pale.
Indie Sun coldly addressed Carloman, "What does this have to do with you?"
Carloman scoffed, "Of course, it does. I can't stand scoundrels!"
Furious, Indie Sun's pretty face turned crimson. She then turned to Cyneburg, "I don't want to say much! These two years you were in prison, I was subject to endless gossip, even from my family. I've been under so much pressure! Breaking up with you was inevitable. I cannot accept someone who's been in jail..."
"No need to explain!" Cyneburg interrupted, "A woman like you indeed isn't worthy of me, Cyneburg Wu!"
Indie Sun shrieked, "What did you say? I'm not worthy of you?"
Carloman nodded in agreement, "Well said!"
Cyneburg didn't pay him any mind. He gestured to Narcisco, who reluctantly approached, mumbling, "Cyneburg, I..."
Cyneburg slapped him, sending Narcisco spinning and falling to the ground.
Indie Sun was shocked, "Cyneburg Wu, how dare you hit someone!"
Narcisco jumped up, furious, pointing at Cyneburg, "It's your fault for not being able to keep your girlfriend! What's wrong with me? If she didn't go with me, she would've gone with someone else!"
Cyneburg calmly responded, "Narcisco, no need to explain. That slap was what you owed me! From now on, we owe each other nothing!"
Narcisco was about to speak, but Indie Sun interrupted with disdain, "Cyneburg Wu, drop your condescending attitude! Let me tell you, Narcisco's family got compensated with five apartments from a demolition. He's much better than you!"
"Wake up! Who would want to be with someone who's been expelled from university and jailed? I just made the choice any normal woman would make," Indie Sun scoffed loudly, mocking her ex-boyfriend, "It's you who isn't worthy of me! That's why I left you!"
Cyneburg Wu was tired of arguing with her. He turned to leave, only to hear a familiar voice.
"Husband, what are you doing here?"
Startled, he turned around to see a stunning woman in a red silk cheongsam, embroidered with a white rose, walking toward him. Her fair skin, devilish figure, and graceful demeanor identified her as none other than Arlet Tang.
She confidently took Cyneburg's arm, leaning into him, then glanced at the dazed Indie Sun, pouting, "Husband, is this your ex-girlfriend? She's so plain, no wonder you didn't want her."
Indie Sun was so angry she felt like spitting blood, but in front of Arlet Tang, she was indeed like a common chicken compared to a phoenix, with no ground to stand on.
Even Narcisco was stunned, having never encountered such a level of beauty in real life before.
"What are you looking at?" Indie Sun kicked him out of frustration.
"Why are you here?" Cyneburg was surprised, thinking she had urgent matters to attend to.
Arlet Tang smiled slightly, "I was on the phone with your mom in the car. She said you were also coming to Yunjing, and we were on the same train, so I started looking for you as soon as I got off."
Carloman Lu, eyes brightened at the sight of Arlet, chuckled, "Perfect, I drove here. Let's go together."
"Sure, thank you," Arlet Tang said with an easy smile.
The three of them headed straight to the parking lot, leaving Narcisco and Indie Sun speechless.
In the parking lot, an old domestic car flashed its lights; it was Carloman's car.
Cyneburg and Arlet Tang sat in the back. He paused and said, "Arlet, thanks for just now."
He knew Arlet Tang was trying to help him make a point.
Arlet Tang giggled, "Brother, are you saying I made you look good because I'm beautiful? Is that it?"
Cyneburg rolled his eyes internally, thinking, can't she be a little modest?
He then asked, "My mom said you had urgent matters, what's going on?"
Arlet Tang sighed, "It's a troublesome matter! I'll tell you about it later."
Cyneburg looked at her, "Why not tell me now? Maybe I can help."
Arlet Tang looked troubled, "My dad got scammed. Someone convinced him to buy some rough stones, and he lost billions. Grandpa is furious and planning to cut off his allowance and remove him from all positions in the group. He's desperate and turned to me for help."
Cyneburg was astonished, hundreds of millions were lost! Did that mean Arlet Tang's father was very wealthy, making her a rich second-generation?
Seeing his surprised expression, Arlet Tang bitterly smiled, "I wanted to escape for a while, but now I have no choice but to go back. The Elder Madam is pressuring my dad a lot, and she'll definitely use this to crush him completely."
She held her forehead, seemingly exasperated by her father's predicament.
Cyneburg comforted her, "Don't worry too much."
Arlet Tang sighed, "How can I not worry? The Elder Madam will use this to force me to marry that man."
Cyneburg thought of his Eye of Dimensions, pondering whether he could help her assess the rough stones. He immediately asked, "What did your dad buy?"
"Jade," Arlet Tang replied, "He's always been impulsive. This time he invested one billion yuan, picking seven large stones from Bian Nan, the Jade King. The first four all failed, a total loss."
Cyneburg fell silent for a moment, then said, "I know a bit about jade. Take me with you, and let's go to Bian Nan again."
Arlet paused, looking seriously at Cyneburg, "Brother, are you serious?"
