After their lunch break, Alexander drove Amber straight to the new project’s construction site.

“What did my mom say to you?” asked Amber curiously.

As her daughter, Amber knew Susanne was not easily impressed. She did not recognize Alexander as her son–in–law, especially since he married into the family.

Oddly enough, Susanne herself called Alexander for a ‘chat‘ after they ate.
