CHAPTER 7: YOU ARE MY CRAZY EVERYTHING

by Nikka Anne 12:11,Jan 15,2021

Garrett's POV

I don’t want this night to end. That is all I know. It’s indeed my luck to be closer to Nico since he’s drinking alone. I am happy that we decided to go to this place, instead of somewhere. You know, women. They want to go to wherever they like as they shift moods.

I can’t help smiling. The mere presence of Nico excites my whole being. My happiness is beyond words. I guess it’s different when we’re meeting in the office rather than outside. I can say, it is more exciting to go with him outside of work.

He’s charming and fun to talk to, more than that of when we’re outside, talking and joking around with each other. I can see that I can be more acquainted with him compared to the quick encounters we only have in the office.

“Garrett, how’s Celeste?” He slyly grinned looking at me directly to my eyes. Scilla seemed to be surprised all of a sudden.

“You know his sister, Celeste? Wow!” she interrupted. I smiled back at him.

“She’s being a good sister. Good thing she’s inspired with her studies now.” I slowly shifted my eyes to both of them as I saw his reaction. He slightly nodded as he gulped his beer. It hit me just now...why do I need to tell him about my sister? His eyes are still locked on mine and whatever reaction that I will show. I slightly glared at him. When he realized that I felt bad all of a sudden, he couldn't help but chuckle. Scilla seemed a bit puzzled as she shifted her gaze to both of us, too.

“Do I need to know something? What is it?...” She muttered as she pouted her lips.

Oh, this is already a wrong move. I should not tell you about my sister. It is me that should make a move on how she can avoid you as much as possible…

“Yes. I know Celeste. We have been dating since last month.” He confidently confessed. Scilla couldn’t believe it. I didn’t plan to tell Scilla that it was Nico whom Celeste is crazy about but it just happened.

“Oh, so you’re the guy Celeste’s telling me all night, huh?” Scilla gave him a closer look and as their gazes met, they laughed together.

“The one and only.” He confidently stated as he gave her a wink. I can’t help but be secretly pissed. How dare him?! How can he say that to Scilla with me listening to what they’re talking about? Is he crazy? Is this a sort of game plan, Nico?

How can I make Celeste avoid him if Scilla already knew what he’s like and what he looked like? From the way Scilla talks to him, I feel like Nico is getting her easily, getting her sympathy and everything. Too late I was not able to tell Scilla what is his true nature and what he does for most women.

“Back off, Nico.” I kept my cool as I told him this in a joking manner. Scilla gave me a weird look. I can see that she’s instantly confused from what I just said.

“I’ll never hurt your sister, you know that.” He smiled, looking straight to my eyes. That meaningful look that I can never rely upon. He rested his arm on the table and one of his hands cupped his left cheek as he even looked at me closely as if making himself cute. Well, he’s cuter this time.

. Scilla laughed at what Nico was doing. She too is observing Nico and she always finds him funny. She ate some chips on the table and my best friend is not paying attention to us because someone just called her. She excused herself as she walked away, entertaining an important call, I suppose.

In a swift motion, Nico held my hand tight as if I am his important possession. As if he owned me from the very start.

“Geez, your hands are cold. What’s the matter?” He asked in a teasing manner. Why can’t he stop smiling? It’s like torture for me.

“Shit don’t do this,” I muttered as I avoided his gaze. I tried pulling my hand away from his grip but unfortunately, he was stronger this time. I feel like a helpless young girl and all the strength left me at this point in time. I can see that he’s also holding my hand but his eyes are around us, particularly to where Scilla is standing to attend a call.

I noticed that Scilla got too busy with that call and she can’t go back to our table right away for a couple of minutes. I am triple dead.

When Nico noticed that I am feeling nervous about the situation, I can feel that he’s massaging my palms gently. I admit, it feels really good. I relaxed my hand and I can see myself enjoying what he’s doing. He locked his hands on mine, in a way that we only both knew.

I was alarmed and pulled my hands from his grip when I could see Scilla rushing towards us as if she’s in a hurry. She was seated again to where she left a while ago.

“Gosh, I’m sorry. That was my friend in high school. She’s having a problem and she wants me to talk to her because she’s feeling alone. My goodness! I guess I have an instant problem, too.” She folded her arms as she frowned. Nico gave her a slightly sympathetic look.

“Maybe you’re the one that she called because you’re the only one that she can trust among her friends.” Nico simply replied.

“I guess you’re right. Even Celeste...it is just normal for us to talk the whole night, we usually sleep at 3-4 A.M.” I glared at Scilla upon knowing what they’re doing in the middle of the night.

“What a bad influence on my sister. I’d better stay with her so that she can focus on her studies instead of spending most of her time in midnight chitchats.” I mumbled as I gave her a blank look. She gave me a peace sign as a response. Nico, on the other hand, is obviously amused by us.

“You both look good together,” Nico commented at last. I can see Scilla blushed. I can see from Scilla’s facial reaction that she’s happy with it.
