Nick Jiang also had a ghost-faced mask.
Four years ago, when Nick Jiang was about to leave Longhu Mountain and venture out into the world, Master Tianlong gave him a ghost-faced mask and instructed him to wear it to avoid exposing his identity.
This was because Nick Jiang was too young at the time.
He was only sixteen years old but had already stepped into the realm of a war god.
If this news were to spread, it would send shockwaves globally!
Nick Jiang would become the center of attention worldwide, and his background might be investigated, potentially bringing danger upon himself.
Due to Master Tianlong's instructions, Nick Jiang had been wearing the ghost-faced mask every time he carried out missions since the founding of the Zhanlong Palace.
This was also the reason why he was known as the Ghost-Faced War God.
Even in the Zhanlong Palace, apart from a few select individuals like Sofia Dongfang, Wenzler Xing, and Bill Qin, no one had ever seen Nick Jiang's true face.
At this moment, when Nick Jiang heard about the ghost-faced mask, his immediate thought was that the mysterious person mentioned by Richard Su was likely related to Master Tianlong.
"Harper, Mia, Nick, even though I had my reasons for driving you out of the Su family back then, you've suffered a lot over these years. I and the Su family owe you an apology!" Richard Su said with self-blame.
"Dad, we don't blame you at all!" Harper Liu quickly replied.
"Yes, Grandpa, you were just considering our safety and the Su family's. There's no need for self-blame or guilt," Mia Su added.
"Nick, do you blame me?" Richard Su looked at Nick Jiang.
"Grandpa Su, if I were in your shoes, I would have made the same choice," Nick Jiang indirectly provided an answer.
Originally, he had planned to bring Harper Liu and Mia Su to see Richard Su and get a clear explanation.
Now that the truth was out, how could he blame Richard Su?
Moreover, Richard Su cared about his opinion even though he knew he wasn't a true descendant of the Su family.
"As long as you don't blame me, that's good," Richard Su sighed in relief and then said, "Alright, we've said everything that needs to be said. Pack up, and let's go home. Although the Su family is facing some troubles now and isn't as glorious as it used to be, it's still better than staying here."
"Grandpa Su, what kind of troubles is the Su family facing?" Nick Jiang asked.
"Someone is secretly targeting the Su family, suppressing the Su Group. We haven't figured out the details yet," Richard Su said, furrowing his brow, then turned to Mia Su and said, "By the way, Mia, when you return to the Su family, I plan to entrust the Su Group to you."
"Ah..." Mia Su was taken aback.
"I'm getting old, and my energy can't keep up anymore. Your uncles are all useless. If I hand the Su Group over to them, it will surely go downhill sooner or later," Richard Su said with a frustrated expression.
"Grandpa, if you want me to manage the Su Group, I'll do my best. I just hope not to disappoint you," Mia Su hesitated for a moment but ultimately didn't refuse Richard Su's proposal, although she was worried about her ability to handle it.
"Mia, since you've taken charge of the Liu family's business, your performance has been outstanding, especially in resisting the Zhen family's retaliation. It's remarkable, and Grandpa believes in your abilities," Richard Su smiled faintly but still had a furrowed brow.
Seeing this, Nick Jiang knew that the trouble the Su family was facing wasn't small, but he didn't immediately ask about it. Instead, he decided to have Bill Qin investigate.
Afterward, during a lull in Harper Liu and Mia Su's packing, Nick Jiang walked out of the room, found a quiet corner in the courtyard, and took out a satellite phone to contact Master Tianlong.
"Why didn't you tell me you were returning to Long Country?"
The phone was quickly answered, and the voice of Master Tianlong came through the receiver.
"Master, the situation was too urgent, so I didn't have a chance to report to you."
Nick Jiang offered an explanation, but in reality, he knew that if the Long Country Armed Forces tried to stop him from standing up for Mia Su, it would likely lead to a bloody battle.
And Master Tianlong was highly likely to prevent him from doing so!
"Sigh... you're still too impulsive. This matter isn't significant. You could have sent someone to handle it, but instead, you almost clashed with the Long Country Armed Forces in person."
As expected, Master Tianlong sighed and admonished Nick Jiang for his impulsiveness.
"Master, this is a huge matter for me!"
Nick Jiang expressed his firm stance, showing no remorse for his actions.
"Well, since it's already done, there's no point in discussing it further."
Master Tianlong understood Nick Jiang's personality and decided not to dwell on the matter. "From what I know about you, you called me not to report the outcome but because you have another matter. So, what is it?"
"Master, Grandpa Su said that my foster father, Robert Su, didn't die accidentally but was deliberately murdered. Do you know who did it?"
Nick Jiang didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the point.
"I don't know anything about this," Master Tianlong replied.
Hmm?
Nick Jiang was momentarily stunned and then continued, "Grandpa Su also mentioned that a mysterious person visited him back then, saying that the person responsible for my foster father's death might harm our family. The mysterious person specifically advised him to have our family of three leave the Su family.
Today, that mysterious person reappeared and told him that we no longer need to worry about that incident harming our family of three. This mysterious person also wore a ghost-faced mask. Was he sent by you?"
"No," Master Tianlong gave a definitive response.
Nick Jiang fell silent.
"When do you plan to leave Long Country?" Master Tianlong changed the topic once more.
"I'm not leaving for now. The Su family is facing some trouble, and I want to help. Furthermore, I intend to investigate my foster father's murder and seek revenge for him!" Nick Jiang squinted his eyes and laid out his plans.
"If you want to stay in the Long Country, I have no objections, but you must remember three things," Master Tianlong said after a moment of silence.
"Master, what are those three things?" Nick Jiang asked.
"First, aside from you, it's best not to let anyone from the Zhanlong Palace stay in Long Country, especially your few powerful subordinates."
Master Tianlong presented the first point and explained, "Bob Qin, the Eastern War God, suppressed your situation because he is the grandfather of your subordinate, Bill Qin, and because you have a legitimate reason. Moreover, you became a War God at a young age.
However, you must understand that you and your subordinates staying in Long Country are like ticking time bombs to the Long Country Armed Forces. They will be cautious and even assign people to watch you. This is not good for you or the Zhanlong Palace."
"Understood," Nick Jiang agreed, realizing that it wasn't appropriate for Sofia Dongfang and Wenzler Xing to remain in Long Country.
"Second, the Long Country Armed Forces are much stronger than you think. Unless absolutely necessary, do not conflict with or oppose them!"
Master Tianlong stated the second point.
"Regarding this, I promised the Long Country Armed Forces's Jiangnan Envoy Barry Yan and also informed Bob Qin," Nick Jiang said.
"Third, and most importantly, do not expose your identity. Neither as the Lord of the Zhanlong Palace nor as Leo Jiang's son. Both of these identities must remain hidden!"
Master Tianlong's tone became more serious.
"Master, when I killed Mark Zhao, the leader of the Crimson Hell, he mentioned that once my true identity was exposed, I would be doomed. And you've been reminding me to wear the ghost-faced mask for the past few years to avoid revealing my identity."
Nick Jiang thought of Mark Zhao's last words before he died, took a deep breath, and asked, "Is it that there's more to my biological father Leo Jiang's death, and you haven't told me?"
"I'll tell you next time we meet."
Master Tianlong indirectly gave his response after nearly ten seconds of silence, then hung up the phone without waiting for Nick Jiang to say anything more.
Nick Jiang put away his phone and clenched his fists silently.
Blood debts must be paid in blood.
Whether it was the death of Robert Su or Leo Jiang, Nick Jiang would uncover the truth and seek vengeance for them!
