chapter 13 Take off your shirt yourself

The man who walked in respectfully was a famous barrister. He was often interviewed on TV news and was a prominent personality in Peng City.
Siran had watched his interview before.
She remembered his surname was Luo.
For a while, Siran couldn't recall his name.
All the cases Laurence Luo handled started with a fee of hundreds of millions, with an annual income of nine figures.
This was reported in news interviews.
How was he acquainted with Aaron, and why was he so respectful and polite toward him?
Laurence approached Aaron, nodding. "Third..."
He initially wanted to call Aaron 'third master.'
But before Laurence came, Eddie informed him that Aaron's identity could not be exposed.
So, he quickly changed his words and said, "Mr. Shang, I have negotiated with the police. You, your wife, and your wife's friends can leave now."
Aaron hummed in acknowledgement of his words.
Laurence made a hand gesture, asking Aaron to leave first.
Everyone was dumbfounded.
Especially Musa, who had just ridiculed and mocked Aaron. He looked at Aaron dazedly as he sized him up in disbelief.
How could a helpless man who was broke and penniless and had to ask his wife for money have such powerful social connections?
And that allowed Aaron to leave the police station as he wished.
Musa felt indignant. His brother-in-law didn't have such strong connections, so how did Aaron get his?
He wondered if he had imagined things.
Cara was also a little surprised.
She gave Aaron a once-over. Although he wore a dozen yuan worth of street stall goods and a pair of slippers, he had a strong and intimidating aura.
"Siran."
Cara pushed Siran's arm gently.
"Who is this person your husband has found? He is so powerful that he can get us out in just a few minutes?"
Yelena's husband was indeed influential in this area.
But he couldn't even fish them out.
Yet, the man Aaron called had managed to bail them out effortlessly.
Siran found the situation odd, too.
After all, Aaron was bankrupt and had no money left.
So, how come he was friends with the man of the hour of Peng City, Laurence Luo?
Just then, Aaron took her hand and said, "Let's go home!"
It was not the first time he held her hand. This time, even though Siran was not as resistant as before, she still wasn't used to his touch.
His palms felt powerful.
The moment he pulled Siran's hand, she felt a comforting energy injected into her body.
All the worries and fears she had just now about being trapped in the police station vanished instantly as ease and peace filled Siran's heart.
It was then Siran turned her head and looked at their intertwined fingers.
It was a man's gorgeous-looking hand, the kind she had never seen before, clean and slender, as if it could dance gracefully on the piano keys.
She actually took another look.
But she was not a nymphomaniac, and she quickly called Cara, who was behind, to tag along.
As Cara walked forward to keep up with Siran and Aaron, Musa quickened his steps to follow them, too, afraid of being left behind.
"Mr. Chen."
Aaron suddenly stopped and looked at Musa coldly.
"What did you say just now? Have you forgotten it?"
Musa looked grim.
He had said earlier that if Aaron could find a way to leave the police station, he would eat his poo.
But it was not possible for him to really execute his promise.
He said awkwardly, "We are all friends. You won't be so petty, and not allow me to leave with you guys, right?"
Aaron said coldly, "Who is your friend?"
Cara didn't want to speak up for Musa either.
He got what he deserved.
As for Siran, she didn't say anything, merely tugging Cara. "Let's go."
Aaron told Laurence, "This person has nothing to do with me. Tell the police officers to follow the rules and regulations."
Laurence was the best at observing people, so he naturally knew what Aaron meant. After respectfully agreeing to Aaron's words, he told the police to continue detaining Musa.
After all, Musa was at fault for starting the fight.
No matter how much Musa yelled, they wouldn't let him leave.
"Cara, please put in a good word to Siran's husband for me. Are you really going to leave me here?"
Cara held the child in her arms, glaring at him. "You should reflect on yourself here."
Eddie quickly texted Aaron when he spotted him leaving the police station:
[Third master, I'm leaving since you're out now. I can't send you home because you don't want your wife to discover your identity.]
Aaron replied: [Okay!]
Siran and Aaron dropped Cara home first before they returned to Siran's rental house.
Because their houses were close to each other, Siran and Aaron chose to walk home.
Just like previously, Siran didn't probe into Aaron's matters.
Logically speaking, she should be asking Aaron questions.
Her silence simplified matters for Aaron.
But he also found her to be too quiet.
Aaron was the first to speak. "Aren't you going to ask me any questions?"
Siran responded, "Then do you want to tell me something? If you want to say something, just say it. If you don't want to say it, I won't probe."
It was rare to meet a woman as sane, quiet and intelligent as her.
Siran must know that it was unnecessary to ask her questions if Aaron didn't want to talk.
But she was Aaron's wife legally, so wasn't she supposed to be curious?
Aaron kept feeling like something was amiss.
But he still wasn't going to reveal his identity to Siran, so he lied,
"I rescued the famous man of Peng City, Lawyer Luo, two years ago. I called him to ask for his help just now. It is probably because I saved his life that he found a way to get the police to release us quickly."
Siran said, "Oh."
Aaron's explanation made sense.
Aaron looked at her as they walked. "Do you have anything else to say?"
"Nope. But luckily you saved that Lawyer Luo, otherwise we would have been in trouble." Siran quickened her pace. "Let's head home. It's so late and I'm really sorry for asking you to come out and delaying your sleep."
Aaron thought it was normal for Siran to wake up from a nightmare crying and apologizing for disturbing him last night.
After all, one should be apologetic when one disrupts another's sleeping time.
But her politeness today made Aaron feel uneasy.
Was Siran too polite around him?
Aaron didn't dwell on the matter longer, knowing that they were strangers from the beginning, and it was only standard for Siran to be polite.
After returning home, Siran saw Mateo sleeping on the couch in the living room. He seemed to be fast asleep.
She tiptoed, not daring to make any significant movements.
The truth was Mateo was pretending to be asleep.
He was worried as Siran and Aaron were out.
Now that Aaron and Siran returned home together, he could finally sleep peacefully.
Siran was hit on the back with a stool during the earlier fight.
She felt pain radiating from her back while she showered.
After finishing her shower, Siran applied some ointment in the bathroom.
She couldn't reach some area on her back, so Siran returned to the bedroom and closed the door.
Siran was a little embarrassed when she saw Aaron lying on the floor, ready to tuck in for the night. "Um, Aaron. Can you help me apply the ointment on my back? I can't reach some part of it."
Aaron furrowed his brows.
"Forget it if it's inconvenient for you." Siran feared the situation would become awkward once she removed her clothes.
She had never taken off her clothes in front of a man before.
Even if Aaron was her husband legally, she was still embarrassed.
"Come here." Aaron sat up, patted the seat before him, and motioned for Siran to sit before him.
"Oh."
Siran walked over and sat down.
"Sorry to bother you."
Aaron stared at Siran's gorgeous and slender back.
She had just taken a shower, and her long hair was tied into a bun on top of her head, revealing her neck that was as fair and attractive as a swan.
Aaron dared not look at Siran straight. He averted his gaze. "Take it off."
"Ah?" Siran couldn't react in time.
Aaron still didn't dare to look at her beautiful neck. "If you don't take off your clothes, how am I supposed to apply the medicine for you?"
