Target achieved

Without missing a beat, Benjamin made his way to Changyang County to check on Wyatt, who was now in her sophomore year at Changyang No.1 High School.
At eighteen, Wyatt had grown tall and her slender frame was no longer concealed by the ill-fitting school uniform. Her delicate features, complemented by a proud nose and fair complexion, made her the dream guy for all the bewildered boys at the school.
The delinquent youngsters of this era possessed a wildness that the boys of later generations could hardly attain. It was precisely because of Benjamin's formidable reputation in Changyang County that Wyatt was able to study without being harassed and secure in her position as a top student.
Leaning against a lamppost near the entrance of Changyang No.1 High School, Benjamin puffed on a cigarette. He had switched to premium cigarettes; after all, he couldn't get used to the cheap ones without a filter after his rebirth.
It was dismissal time, and occasionally, some students from cram schools and the senior class would recognize him. The bolder ones would even greet him with a forced smile. Once they were out of earshot, their faces would light up with excitement, bragging to their classmates about their connection with Little Red Robe.
"Hey, why are you here?"
Graceful Wyatt stood before Benjamin, holding onto his arm.
Wyatt and Yannick had an extremely close relationship with Benjamin. Since Benjamin was always generous with his spending, he naturally didn't skimp when it came to his two younger sisters. As a result, the two girls had been very attached to him since they were young.
Benjamin snapped out of his thoughts and looked Wyatt up and down, his rejuvenated younger sister. He smiled broadly. This younger sister of his had a personality exactly like their mother's, gentle to the extreme.
In the future, because she was able to start working early, and subsidize the family, a brilliant female student like her chose to forgo college and attend a vocational school instead. Later, she even got laid off from a farm machinery factory and ended up marrying a small-minded guy. Her marriage was far from happy, and life was extremely difficult. In the years to come, Benjamin wandered through hardship. However, Wyatt would always find him during holidays and slip some money into his pocket, afraid he would refuse.
Pushing aside the lingering thoughts in his mind, Benjamin affectionately patted Wyatt's ponytail.
"Take some money. See if anyone dares to bully you."
Benjamin tucked 100 dollars into Wyatt's bag and said cheerfully, "Hey, this is a bit much."
Children from poor families mature early and Wyatt, seeing the crisp blue bill, suddenly felt a bit flustered.
"Alright, your big brother's got money."
Wyatt greatly admired her second brother, who, although not liked by their parents for his lifestyle, was exactly the kind of man she thought he should be. Without delay, she nodded hesitantly.
Indeed, she was already quite thrifty in her daily life, but there were still some study materials she needed to purchase.
Benjamin and Wyatt chatted for a bit more. Before leaving, he emphasized once again, "You must go to college. I'll cover your expenses for university. Do you understand? That's where you'll find the life you want."
Afraid that Wyatt might not take it to heart, Benjamin squinted his eyes and said firmly, "If you dare to listen to Zane's shortsighted nonsense, I'll go back and break Zane's legs."
The Su siblings had opposite personalities. Although Zane's name was imposing, his character was typically that of an old-fashioned farmer. Timid, simple-minded, and conflict-averse, he loved to take small advantages. Due to his character, even though he was almost three years older than Benjamin, he had not been spared Benjamin's beatings.
Seeing Benjamin's expression, Wyatt knew he was serious. She had firsthand experience of her second brother's toughness since childhood. If she didn't agree, she might go home and break her big brother's legs.
Wyatt nodded vigorously, simultaneously feeling a sense of relief. She had always yearned for university life but was worried about the burden on her family. However, since her second brother said it was alright, then it must be. In Wyatt's current understanding, there was nothing Benjamin couldn't accomplish if he set his mind to it.
After bidding farewell to Wyatt, Benjamin began to ponder whether his plan would go off without a hitch. He had already gathered that the incident had occurred three days ago, and from his memory, the bills were burned on the fifth day. This meant he had just over a day to execute his plan.
Returning in this second chance, he had to be extremely cautious. Holding a handful of aces, if he couldn't ensure foolproof success, he'd rather abandon the idea than take unnecessary risks.
Oscar's family lived in the staff housing compound of the Commercial Bank of Changyang County. The benefits at the Commercial Bank were indeed decent; every house was made of bricks, and mud walls separated each household, providing a serene atmosphere.
Benjamin wore an old-style flat cap, the collar of his coat raised to conceal his most prominent feature – his shaved head.
He also carried a box of canned goods as a gift, which was worth nearly ten dollars. For the people of Changyang County, this was considered a rather valuable gift.
As the evening descended, Benjamin saw Oscar nonchalantly riding his bike out, and he couldn't help but admire the man's mental fortitude.
After committing such a major act, he still went out to gamble with a calm demeanor. Quite the audacity.
Adjusting his collar, Benjamin picked up the canned goods and strolled in nonchalantly.
As expected, he didn't arouse any suspicions along the way. In front of Oscar's house, Benjamin bent down as if to tie his shoelaces, using his peripheral vision to scan the surroundings. After confirming that there was no one around, he took a step and agilely slipped inside, much like a leopard.
Looking at the old-fashioned lock on the door, Benjamin self-deprecatingly smirked. His skills in this department were acquired out of sheer boredom in another time and place, while he was idling away time in prison.
The room was quite dark, but after a few moments of groping, Benjamin retrieved a bundle of bills, expertly wrapped in packaging from the stove. He contemplated for a moment, took four bundles, and then neatly tied together some paper he had prepared, roughly the same size as the bills. He placed the remaining twenty thousand back.
Next, he carefully took out a plastic packet of coal oil, wrapped in a seasoning packet roughly the same size as instant noodles, and placed it underneath.
He was indeed cautious in his actions. Forty thousand would be more than enough for him to start anew. He used the coal oil to ensure that it would burn thoroughly when Oscar's mother cooked, leaving behind twenty thousand as a precaution in case any residual ashes needed to be analyzed in the future. Although technology might not be as advanced in this era, Benjamin believed in being extra careful.
After completing his task, Benjamin didn't immediately leave Changyang County. Instead, he continued to keep watch near Oscar's home for another day.
It wasn't until he saw a dressed old lady enter Oscar's house and shortly after, smoke rising from the chimney, that he smiled and left.
No one would have imagined that a commercial behemoth of the future would set sail from this very day.
