chapter 1 a surprise

The sound of water running came from the bathroom.
A young man, who was in a yellow takeout uniform, was sitting nervously on the sofa.
His name was Taden Lyon, a recent graduate from Skylake University.
He couldn't find a suitable job for a while, but since his family was having some financial issues, he temporarily worked as a delivery boy.
The person in the shower was his girlfriend, Katherine White, the school beauty.
Taden had been chasing Katherine for three years, and treated her like a princess.

His name was Adonai Yates, a rich kid from a wealthy family. He was driving a Maybach when he saw Taden and Katherine walking hand in hand on the street.
He thought Katherine was young and beautiful, so he made a bet with his friends that he could win Katherine over in two hours.
In fact, he only spent 30 minutes hooking up before Katherine fell for him.

He was once so good to Katherine that he even rode his bike across half of Skylake City and endured the chilly wind during winter at two in the morning when she sent a message in the middle of the night wanting to eat hot pot.

"You dare to threaten me?!" Adonai stepped forward and kicked Taden hard on the temple.
Taden was knocked unconscious by the kick.

Taden was thrown on the cold street, with blood and tears flowing down his cheeks.
