chapter 2 Doctors don’t knock on the door

It seems like Nevada's swallowing sound caught Tina's attention.
She noticed his gaze on her chest and quickly blushed, covering her chest with her hand.
"This guy!"
Seeing Tina's reaction, Nevada quickly responded, "It's okay, anyway, I'm not losing out by getting a girlfriend for free!"
After seeing the man in front of her who looked so much like Nevada from years ago, Tina adjusted her mood and asked, "What's your name?"
"I'm No... Norberto Stafford."
Nevada knew that Tina had not yet discovered his true identity, so he decided not to reveal it for the time being.
He didn't want to expose himself until his revenge plan was completed.
"Noberto," Tina repeated Nevada's pseudonym silently.
"Not only do you look alike, but your surname is also the same."
Looking at Nevada, Tina couldn't help but think of the Nevada who she had always followed around when they were children.
"Oh, right! Take this, pack up your things, and leave the city quickly."
As if remembering something, she quickly took out a bank card from her wallet and handed it to Nevada.
"What's this... You want to support me?"
Nevada looked at the bank card in Tina's hand and raised an eyebrow.
"No! Consider this as compensation from me to you."
"The man I just angered has a lot of influence in the city. I'm afraid he'll revenge against you, so take the money in this card and leave here quickly."
Tina knew Scott's character of seeking revenge for the smallest grievances.
Even though everyone knew that Nevada was just someone she randomly found to use as a shield, Scott would not let him off!
"How much money is in this card?"
Hearing Tina's words, Nevada smiled and took the bank card from her hand.
"There are 50,000 dollars in this card, which should be enough to compensate you.”
That was not a small amount. It might take more than ten years of work to save that much of money for an ordinary person!
"Alright, I'll take this money, but it's not compensation for being your scapegoat. Consider it as a medical fee for your grandfather." Nevada pocketed the bank card and replied to Tina seriously.
"A medical fee?"
"Yes! I heard your grandfather is ill, right? I happen to have some medical skills. Maybe I can help take a look at him."
Nevada had practiced medicine with Mirror Lake Heavenly Physician on the mountain for ten years, and his medical skills were superb.
Even his master often praised his medical talent!
"You're a doctor?" Tina looked at him with a hint of doubt.
"I don't have a medical license, so you could say I'm half a doctor."
"Err..."
Hearing that Nevada didn't even have a medical license, Tina's face showed a hint of disappointment.
"If you don't trust me, I'll just take a look at your grandfather."
"Just taking a look won't reveal much, don't you think?" Nevada understood Tina's concerns.
Before Tina could politely decline, he interrupted her.
"Alright then." Since Nevada had already brought it up, she could only nod in agreement.
Half an hour later, she appeared at the door of her grandfather Rob's bedroom with Nevada.
Seeing his daughter return, her father, Arnold Traylor, quickly walked up to her.
"How did it go? Is Scott willing to sell the King of Snow Lotus to us?"
Seeing the eager look in her father's eyes, Tina shook her head silently.
"Scott said no matter how much we offer, he won't sell unless..."
"Unless what?" Arnold asked eagerly.
"Unless I marry him!"
"Err..."
Hearing Scott's demand, Arnold was in a dilemma.
He was well aware of Scott's character. Marrying his daughter to him would be like sending a lamb to the wolf's den.
However, if he didn't agree to marry his daughter to Scott, his father, Rob, wouldn't survive.
He was now in a dilemma.
"Mr. Traylor, I've studied medicine for a few years. How about letting me take a look at Grandpa Rob?"
Nevada stepped forward, seeing Tina's distress.
"You? Which hospital are you working for?"
"I don't work in a hospital," Nevada replied truthfully.
"Tina, this friend of yours..."
After hearing Nevada's response, Arnold's expression mirrored Tina's earlier distress.
"Mr. Traylor, I'll just take a look at Grandpa Rob. If you don't believe me, I won't treat him."
"Dad, let's give him a try. Maybe he can really find out something," Tina persuaded.
"Alright then!" After some thought, Arnold agreed to Nevada's request.
"However, your uncle has already gone to the city hospital to invite an expert, and they should be arriving soon."
"Before they arrive, I'll trouble you to take a look at my father."
Seeing Arnold nod in agreement, Tina led Nevada to the bedroom.
Seeing Grandpa Rob lying on the bed with a pale face, Nevada quickly approached to check his pulse.
Ordinary doctors can only judge a patient's condition based on their pulse.
However, Nevada had studied the "The Secret of Divine Medication" under his master, and possessed a profound energy that could roam within a patient's body.
By using this profound energy, he could detect the exact location of a patient's problem.
Of course, the use of profound energy required a great deal of skill from the practitioner.
Any slight mistake could worsen the patient's condition or even lead to death.
Pressing down on Grandpa Rob's arm, he slowly closed his eyes.
Soon, he discovered the cause of Grandpa Rob's coma!
However, just as he was about to retract his profound energy, footsteps could be heard outside the bedroom.
"Uncle, please wait a moment. My friend is helping grandpa with his illness," Tina quickly said upon seeing her uncle,
Kay Trayor, entering with a middle-aged man in a white coat.
"Nonsense!"
"You're letting this inexperienced kid treat granpa? Have you lost your mind?" Kay exclaimed upon hearing Tina's words, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"You! How dare you go around and cheat!"
"Get loss! If you delay my father's treatment, I'll break your legs!" Kay finished scolding Tina and then turned his attention to Nevada.
Nevada had originally planned to explain the cause of the illness to them, but seeing Kay's attitude, he immediately changed his mind.
At this moment, he finally understood what his master often meant when he said, "If you are not invited, don't simply knock on others door to offer treatment."
A medical practitioner, no matter how skilled, should not easily visit someone to diagnose a disease without being invited by the patient.
If the patient's family did not treat the doctor seriously, it will likely end up like Nevada, who was not trusted or respected.
In such a situation, where there was a lack of trust, even if he could identify the cause of the illness, the other party might not believe him.
Understanding this principle, he silently stepped aside.
