After saying that, Clarence reached into the pocket of his black trench coat and pulled out a string of beads.
The beads were black, with cracks all over them.
When Decco saw the string of beads, his pupils contracted. He hadn't expected Dragonhead to send this out.
Everyone glanced at the string of beads, exchanging looks of confusion, sneers, and disdain.
Bridget took the beads, her eyebrows slightly furrowed, curious about what they were.
Obsidian? Pumice stone? Black crystal?
Regardless of what they were, they didn't seem very valuable.
Moreover, with so many cracks, they seemed worthless.
"Clarence, I appreciate the gesture, but I'll pass on this gift. You should take it back," Bridget said.
He thought, "Why bring out something so worthless? Isn't it embarrassing enough?"
Clarence replied calmly, "Don't underestimate these beads. They're rare and have the effect of strengthening the body."
Everyone looked at Clarence skeptically. It sounded like he was a scammer selling healing stones.
They wondered if Clarence had gone mad from his military service. Did he just randomly pick up a string of beads and start making up stories?
"Regardless, it's a gesture from Clarence. How can we refuse?"
Faithe hypocritically snatched the bracelet and examined it casually.
In his eyes, Clarence was a penniless wretch who couldn't afford nice things, so he substituted them with cheap knockoffs.
As Bridget's fiancé, he felt it was his duty to put Clarence in his place.
So, he casually dropped the bracelet to the ground, saying, "Oops, sorry, it slipped. But it doesn't matter, it's not worth much anyway, right?"
Clarence's eyes flashed coldly as he glanced at Faithe.
This guy was asking for trouble.
"Heh, Clarence, what's with that look? From your gift, I can see that you're not doing well these days."
"I won't pretend anymore. From now on, you'd better not have any ideas about Bridget," Faithe said arrogantly.
"Your family has been wiped out, and I heard from Bridget that you don't even have a college degree. Without Van Family backing you up, you're no different from trash, right?"
Everyone chuckled mockingly, looking at Clarence.
One was the arranged fiancé, the other the current boyfriend. This non-combative competition was perfect for these gossip-loving people.
However, Clarence remained unfazed. It was Decco, standing behind Clarence, who suddenly appeared in front of Faithe.
Decco, like a tank, stared down at Faithe, as if he were looking at an ant.
"Watch your words. I've given you two chances, but there won't be a third," Clarence said calmly, taking a casual sip of his drink.
Between the business card incident and throwing away the bracelet Clarence had given him, if it weren't for the fact that they were in the Walker Family's place, Faithe would be a dead man by now.
Faithe swallowed hard. In front of Decco, he was genuinely afraid, not even daring to meet his gaze.
Yet, with so many people watching, especially Bridget and his future mother-in-law, if he backed down now, wouldn't he be humiliated?
So, he straightened his neck and said coldly, "What's wrong? Did I say something wrong? An unprotected adopted son, what are you doing at the Walker Family trying to show off? The Van Family is extinct, why should I be afraid of you?"
Clarence shook his head lightly and said, "This guy has a sharp tongue. Shut him up."
Decco grinned evilly and slapped Faithe hard.
The slap knocked Faithe, who looked like a rich kid, to the ground.
Faithe's mouth was sore, and he even spat out two molars!
Instantly, everyone was shocked. They hadn't expected Clarence to actually lay hands on someone.
"Kid, if you dare to speak out of line again, I'll rip your mouth apart."
If Dragonhead hadn't ordered against laying hands on Walker Family members, Dorothy, Bridget, and the others would have been sent flying by him earlier.
"You... you dare to hit me? Damn!"
Faithe, holding his face, seethed with anger and felt a deep sense of humiliation.
Struggling to get up, he slammed the table and was about to confront Clarence.
But just then, Decco's huge palm slapped Faithe's head and lifted him up.
"Would you like one more exploded brain at the dinner table?" Decco said coldly with a smirk.
With his feet dangling, Faithe kicked wildly, feeling his head being squeezed as if it were going to explode, even hearing the sound of bones cracking.
Faithe trembled in terror, his whole body shaking uncontrollably.
"Let go, my head's about to explode!"
"Help... help me!"
The entire hall fell into dead silence, the sound of a pin dropping could be heard.
Everyone stared at Decco, this terrifying giant.
And that iron-blooded aura was definitely not a joke!
"Clarence, what are you doing? Let him go!"
Bridget exclaimed in shock, looking at Faithe with distress, tears welling up in her eyes.
Clarence waved his hand and said, "Alright, this is Walker Residence, I don't want to see bloodshed."
Decco immediately tossed Faithe aside respectfully and said, "Understood!"
"Clarence, you've gone too far!" Bridget pointed at Clarence, her voice filled with indignation.
Gone too far?
Clarence raised an eyebrow. "He insulted me. Is it going too far to retaliate?"
"Bridget, since when did you become so hypocritical?"
Bridget's breath caught in her throat.
Smack!
Dorothy slammed her hand on the table and stood up.
She knew that if Clarence wasn't driven away today, they wouldn't be able to finish this meal.
"Clarence, since you're here, let's get things clear. Now that the Mill Family has fallen, your engagement with Bridget..."
Before Dorothy could finish her sentence, Clarence interrupted.
"My engagement with Bridget is to be canceled, right?"
Although Dorothy didn't respond, her attitude was clear.
"Does Uncle Walker know about this?"
Clarence asked not because he wanted to salvage the engagement, but because it would be better if everyone in the Walker Family knew about the cancellation to avoid future trouble.
"It's my own business, I don't need my father's permission. Didn't you say that in the hallway just now? Why, are you unwilling to let go?" Bridget said indignantly.
"You've misunderstood. I also have this intention."
"Then, from now on, regardless of Walker Family's status, I, Clarence, have nothing to do with it. Whether I'm rich or poor, it has nothing to do with Walker Family."
Although the engagement was arranged by his father, if the Walker Family insisted on canceling it, Clarence didn't care.
When this was said, the people of the Walker Family were also stunned. They had thought Clarence would be persistent.
They hadn't expected him to agree so decisively and unexpectedly.
"Forget it, Clarence. From now on, just live your life quietly. You and I are ultimately not people of the same world," Bridget said lightly.
Upon hearing this, Decco grinned broadly and said, "Dragonhead, this woman really thinks highly of herself. But you're not wrong. With your kind of mediocrity, how could you ever match up to the king of the North?"
Now that Clarence had completely severed ties with the Walker Family, Decco spoke without restraint.
However, when Decco's words came out, everyone present was stunned.
If they hadn't misheard, the other party just said—Dragonhead?
The king of the North, Dragonhead!
How could this be possible?
