In the center of Hundred Flowers Square, a three-foot-high platform was erected. On either side of the platform were two rows of long tents.

One side's banner read, "Grand Epoch Hotel, Renowned for Twenty Years, Leader of Yorkland City's Catering Industry."

The banner on the other side simply read, "Blue Cruise Hotel," which showed a stark contrast in publicity.
