chapter 9 The last phone call

Half an hour later, Olivia Tyler is sent to the operating room.
Doctor Zhang looks at the woman lying on the hospital bed and says to her in a complicated low voice:”Miss Olivia, if you have any people you want to contact with or anything you want to do, please do it right now.”
His underlying meaning is that she might never wake up again.
Olivia Tyler hesitates for a moment after hearing this, her eyes flickers a bit. but then she says to the doctor with a very low voice:”can i make a phone call?”
Doctor Zhang then nods at her and let the nurse send in the phone. she holds the microphone and then dials the number of Sean Brown’s mansion. Though she don’t know if Sean Brown is now at home or not, she just wants to try her luck.
The phone connects through after beeping twice.
“Hello?” there comes out a cold voice.
Olivia Tyler almost goes into tears after hearing this familiar voice.
She never thought this phone call would get through to him.
“Brown.” she tries to hold her tears and says to him with a low voice. “It’s me, Tyler.”
The other side remains silent for a second, and then it comes through Sean Brown’s voice.
“What do you want Olivia Tyler?” Sean Brown clearly hates her so much now.
Olivia Tyler tries to not think of the hatred he has for her, she only lowers her eyes and replies him in trembling tones. “i...i only want to talk with you for a moment.”
Though she decided to leave alone for good two years ago, but when the death comes near to her, she still cannot help calling him, because she wants to listen his voice so much.
“Talk with me?” Sean Brown suddenly bursts into laughter. “what is this now? You need money or you want men ?”
His sharp caustic words drains the last colour of her pale face.
“No...i don’t...” her hand keeps shivering, she wants to defend for herself, but Sean Brown suddenly stops her before she even starts.
“Stay away from me Olivia Tyler, your voice only makes me sick.”
This cruel cold word stabs her heart into fierce blood.
She lowers her head and puts on a bitter smile.
Is this the last word he wants to say to her ?
Her heart feels so in pain now, she even cannot take the breath, but she still tries to comfort herself...
Maybe this is a good thing. At least he will not feel sad when he knows her dead news.
Then, that is enough for her.
“I see.” at the thought of this, she ticks the corner of her mouth hardly and puts on a very ugly smile. “don’t worry, you will never hear my voice in your life again.”
Because she will die soon.
There will never be a person who bothers him in the later life, he’s free now.
Olivia Tyler hurriedly hangs up the phone after saying those words in case he finds the strangeness of her. Though it’s just a simple phone call, she still took all of her strength and courage.
Finally she calms herself down and raises her head to see doctor Zhang who stands by her side. “Doctor Zhang, i’m ready.”
The operating room close now, Olivia Tyler lies in the hospital bed with eyes looking at another bed which her father lies on.
Seeing the pale face of her father, tears suddenly full of her eyes.
In her memory, father always is strict with her but still gentle, everytime when bad things happened to their family, he’s always the one who stands in front of her without hesitation.
Now finally it’s her turn to do something for him.
Thinking of this, she then holds the hands of her father.
“Dad.” she calls him in a low but gentle voice. “don’t worry, you will soon wake up.”
After saying these words, she then feels the cold pinprick goes directly into her veins.
With the blood continues flowing out, her body feels colder and colder, finally she cannot bear and slowly closes her eyes...
Goodbye Brown...
If there’s really an afterlife, i will never live up to you again...
