Chapter 12: So, Thank You, Mom

Jocelyn sat at the table and cut the steak, and occasionally drank a red wine, feeling quite comfortable.
    
For a long time, she had not enjoyed such a meal so quietly. In prison, everyone was rushing to the food lest there was no food left, and after returning the house,all she heard was the criticism for her.

Half an hour later, at the end of her meal, there came a footstep down the stairs behind her.

Julia was dressing in a Chanel's latest dress.While going downstairs,she stuffed the perfume into the bag.

Selena stopped her in time, "Julia, are you going to buy a dress, bring your sister-in-law together!"

"Sister-in-law?" This word made Julia confused.The surprised face under the wavy curled hair was showing that she did not believe what she heard.

"Mom what are you talking?" She looked suspiciously at Jocelyn who had just finished the meal at the table.

That was not normal:Selena was calling Jocelyn Julia’s sister-in-law!

Jocelyn took a cough. She ignored Julia’s hostile gaze, swallowed the steak, and said pretending to be considerate: “Thanks,Mom. It’s okay.Our family is not in business,so there is no need to waste money on my dressing"

"It’s not okay. This is a issue of dignity."

Selena directly took out a card and placed it on the table. "Hold it, remember to buy one for Arthur."

Julia was almost stunned: was there something wrong with my Mom?

Why she treated Jocelyn so nice?

Looking at the golden card, Jocelyn’s eyes was shinning, but she covered her excite and picked it up reluctantly. "Then,thank you mom!"

This sound ‘mother’ was so loud that Selena was in stun for a moment, and when she came to herself, Jocelyn had already stand up and went to the entrance to change shoes.

"Bah! Such a bitch!" Julia snorted in heart and slammed the bag and stepped out with the high-heels thudding.

They were in a luxury dress shop.

When Julia arrived, she was surrounded by the clerks. Five shopping guides in the store all talked around her.

Julia was obviously not strong-minded,for she had already bought 7 or 8 jewellery before trying just in a minute.

Jocelyn was left aside,but she was glad about it.She looked around in the shop which was full of dresses, and finally selected a silver-gray wide-edition long gauzy dress.

This dress looked quite ordinary.So she asked for a try, the clerk next to her glanced and hesitated to ask if this one was too plain.

"It doesn't matter, just this one, and I want to try the set of necklaces and earrings over there, and the two rings here, please."

Although the clerk did not know her, but after all, she was with Julia, so she couldn’t be a ordinary person.Soon the clerk took everything she wanted.

Jocelyn used to learn jewelry design. She had a keen sense of fashion,knowing clearly how to show a clothing’s biggest advantage and What kind of jewelry was the finishing touch.

At the same time, Julia also selected the clothes and accessories, entered the locker room.

Ten minutes later, the curtain of the locker room was opened by the clerk.

The silver-gray wide-edition long gauzy dress showed her perfect figure,the color silver-gray highlighted her fair skin like the legendary White Princess, hair simply ting like a flower.With the rings and the Mermaid tears necklace,she looked plain but fashionable and grace.

 When Julia’s curtain was pulled open, she saw the five shopping guides in front of her staring at the door of the dressing room on the other side, all eyes straight, full of envy and appreciation.

Looking along their gaze, she saw Jocelyn's dress, and her face suddenly changed.

She didn’t realize before but this time when she saw Jocelyn’s fresh and refined dressing, her own dressing was as flamboyant as a Christmas tree.

She was so angry with her teeth crunching, and shouted to the guides.

"Who choose me this?It is not good at all, pick another one."

The shopping guides felt guilty, and they dare not offend the big lady, so they scattered right away.

Jocelyn looked at her in the mirror with satisfaction, then turned to the clerk. "please pack this set for me,together with the jewelry, and, also the man's suit over there."

She did not forget that Selena told her to choose a set of clothes for Arthur as well.

After her paying, Julia was still angry with the shopping guide in the locker room. Jocelyn was too lazy to listen to, and then went out of the store and prepared to turn around.

Just out of the store door, she heard a slight click. She did not look back, but the corner of the eye saw a man with a cap was holding a SLR in the direction of the shop cabinet, taking photos for the store.

Jocelyn thought for a moment.Maybe there was nothing explosive to report in the entertainment circle recently and the paparazzi had nothing to shoot, so Julia’s big shopping could also make a headline.

Staring at the little reporter for a while, she turned around and thought about something, striding over.
