Chapter 11 Survivor

The car came fast at her direction, so fast like a flying arrow. Belle Ye was so shocked that she even forgot where she was. Her mind was blank and her eyes was blinded by the headlights. She subconsciously closed her eyes.
In hindsight, she felt like death came approaching her. She opened her eyes only to be blinded by the headlights again. Her survival instinct jolted her, but her legs were paralyzed. They were stuck to the ground and she couldn’t move them at all.
The car was about to hit her.
Death would soon be hers, but she didn’t bother recalling her life. She didn’t have any good memories about it. There was a vague figure loomed in her mind. She touched it, but the figure turned to dust.
Then, her eyes teared up.
She closed her eyes again and stood up straight. This way, she might die peacefully.
But, the expected pain didn’t come. She heard a loud screeching of a brake hitting the ground. Levi Song came out of the car angrily. He saw the suicidal woman in front of him. She was looking at her hands in disbelief. She looked very… stupid.
Her face was pale. She lifted her head to look at him.
“Do you have a death wish, Miss? If you want to commit suicide, can you at least step aside? As long as you don’t get in my way, you can die in any manner you see fit, but if you can’t, come, let me help you.” Levi Song’s mood was a total mess. His love life and business flopped. He thought that today couldn’t get any worse, but then he met a suicidal woman.
What a life!
In the middle of the dark, Belle Ye couldn’t see the man’s face clearly, but judging from his tone, he sounded irritated. Belle Ye thought that the man was probably holding himself from beating herself. She was so scared that she knelt and begged for mercy, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it. Please, don’t hit me!”
He was not about to do anything. How did she conclude that he was going to hit her?
Levi Song was shocked and frightened at the same time. The woman was still kneeling on the ground with her head hung low. She looked very pitiful. Soon, his anger subsided. He stomped his foot and returned to the car.
Belle Ye slowly lifted her head. With her lifeless eyes, she watched the way he left. She crawled on the ground and heaved a sigh of relief. It turned out that being a survivor was nothing special for her. She tilted her head to look at the man on the driver’s seat. She was so shocked that she stopped breathing.
The engine started and the car left in a high speed. The dust was floating on the air around her.
Belle Ye held her chest and coughed badly until her eyes were red. She was still staring at the car until it disappeared. She could feel cold sweat all over her body.
That face… looked familiar.
“Ryan… Ryan Du? Is that you?” after a moment of confusion, Belle Ye came back to her senses and got up from the ground. She ran after the car, but where did the car go?
Ryan Du was still alive.
She couldn’t believe it. She saw him dying with her own eyes. She could feel cold crept up her body replacing the heat. Ryan Du was dead and his body was burnt to ashes.
But, deep down in her heart, she vaguely expect the heaven bestowed a miracle and let him come back.
At this moment, in underground city clubs, Barry Mo was taking his men to search the place up and down, but still, he couldn’t find the woman.
“Call Echo Xu here.” Barry Mo ordered coldly.
A little while later, two of his men brought the bratty Echo Xu to him. He wouldn’t stop swearing, but after he saw Barry Mo, he shut up and put on a flattering smile, “Barry, what brings you here? Why don’t you sit down? Let’s have a cup of tea.”
Barry Mo looked him coldly, “Echo, do you know anyone named Belle Ye in the club?”
“What?” Echo Xu played dumb for a while, but after Barry Mo gave him a death glare, he suddenly said, “Well, I remember there is a woman named Belle Ye who is responsible for sundry duties.”
“Where is she?” Barry Mo asked fiercely.
Echo Xu didn’t understand why Barry Mo was this attracted to a lowly woman. He said, “You’re late. She resigned already. She should’ve moved out of the dormitory by now. Why, Barry, what do you want from her?”
Echo Xu was familiar with Barry Mo. she didn’t ask much.
Barry Mo didn’t even look at her.
Soon, he sent his men to check the staff dormitory. His men reported that they didn’t see the target.
“Damn it!” Barry Mo kicked the tea table hardly.
Echo Xu sensed the weird air and asked, “You… do you problem with her?”
He gave her a look, “It’s not me. Echo Xu, you’re in a big trouble this time.”
Barry Mo didn’t say much. Echo Xu had nothing to do with him.
“Barry Mo, stop right there. Tell me what’s going on.”
She asked in horror after vaguely aware of something. Her face turned pale. She subconsciously grabbed Barry Mo’s arm. He glanced sideways. Echo Xu suppressed her fear and looked at him straight in the eyes, “Tell me. What did I do wrong?”
“She is boss’ person of interest. Do you understand?”
After that, Barry Mo ignored her and stepped away.
Boss?
Her leg weakened. She fell to the ground.
But, how?
It was impossible for her to disturb Barry Mo. unexpectedly, the person who was looking for that ugly girl was not Barry Mo, but the boss.
The man Barry Mo called boss was also her boss. The man was a big boss of the underground city entertainment club.
Her teeth started chattering and her legs were shaking. She could barely stand firmly. She immediately sent her men to search Belle Ye’s whereabouts.
If only she knew that Belle Ye was capable of attracting the boss, she wouldn’t have let her go.
It’s too late now.
Barry Mo’s men found the direction of Belle Ye’s departure.
“Boss, we can find the girl in twenty minutes.” Barry Mo reported right after he received the news.
Ethan Mo was standing near the window wall. The night lights casted his shadow to the floor. Even his shadow alone was cold. Barry Mo was uneasy seeing his boss like this.
“Where is she?”
Barry Mo immediately told him the approximate location.
